Today I had the incredible experience of interviewing the amazing Howard Wang who voices Xie Lian in the English dub of Heaven Official's Blessing!

At this point we can sufficiently say that Kictor is forever the TGCF fandom’s most devoted believer for getting James Cheek AND Howard Wang for an interview!
For book 1 scenes, it makes sense actually that the voice actor doesn't know about all the bad shit in Xie Lian's past. Because Xie Lian is doing his best to be over it, so it's actually in character to not care about his past.
Not yet at least.

I just want to share this with everyone, that after starting collecting cards in bilibili comics, today I got both Xie Lian and Hua Cheng's hair card ( 1. Royal daoist topknot, 2.Redstring flobraid)❤😊😇 .I am really happy about it.

That was something I was very nervous about, so hearing that I did a good job in your eyes feels really good xD I've been to a few QandA's for celebrities and it drives me crazy when the host talks too much. It's like, we came here for the celebrity's thoughts, not yours!! So I definitely want to give the floor to whoever I'm hosting as much as possible!! xD
I love voice actors who care about who and what they're voicing. His whole talk on "gege" 😭..I now accept that there will be no "gege" in the English dub

If you think about it, Xie Lian is honestly probably stronger than Hua Cheng after he gets his shackles removed. Considering the fight with the Emperor. Mind you without Hua Cheng none of this would have been possible. Especially since he is the one who got rid of his shackles and gave him the confidence he needed to fight the Emperor. But I love how for most of the book I thought that Hua Cheng was the strongest out of them. I knew Xie Lian was strong too but when it got into book 3 and 4 I was really starting to see just how tough Xie Lian really is. And the fifth book I was so hyped during the fights!

I didn't realize this had a dub until this video, and I'm soooooo glad I found out. I'm typically a "watch only in its native language" kind of person, but I'm LOVING this dub. It's very well casted!
He is adorable; I did not expect that lol And his hair is beautiful, wow. Because he and James are sort of 'new' it hard to find out too much about them, so these interviews are cool. I find it interesting that BilliBilli was so involved in the dub casting/creation
