How about titanium? I got a piece of round bar that I thought was stainless until I put the hammer to it the first time. Bounced off like I was hitting the anvil face. It took a looooong time just to flatten it out; was able to forge it into a vague blade shape and then after exhausting every abrasive wheel/disc/belt kind of gave up on it. I guess I never really tried annealing it though; that was dumb of me in retrospect. But can it be annealed? And on stainless; I've got a bar of unknown type that someone gave me, just know that it's not magnetic, and after quenching it got so gd hard that like a 24 grit resin fiber disc just would skate on it. In looking into it I found out that air quenching(?) is better? And even heating it you need like a heavy duty foil envelope (I realize not from the grocery store)? Just curious if there's a way to tell what kind of stainless it is, like from sparks or anything? And whatever wisdom you can give about titanium would be greatly appreciated! Lol, don't try forging it, the end. Just kidding; love your channel btw, not sure how I just now came across you guys.
