You're talking out both sides of your mouth. "Not looking for someone who could start but just who could possibly win the back up route and start if need be? If you don't believe a kid who has experience can come in and start or compete hard for a starting job then why bring them in? You alread have backups who know the system better. Imagine this pitch: Hey we don't think you can start but if our starter goes down, you have some experience, come to UGA.
Why does Kirby NOT trust the QBs that he recruited? I will never understand that. When Daniels went out of the game with an injury, Stetson Bennett came in a gave us 2 National Championships in a row... A 2 star high school athlete accomplished something with Georgia that no other QB has before, and he started from the backup position. But now, he's sending a REALLY BAD message to all the high school QB's out there looking at UGA that Kirby is just going to recruit you to ride the bench for 4 years, or until you transfer. I understand that development is necessary for a QB to step into that roll, and Kirby doesn't feel that Gunner is ready, but Geez Kirby, at some point you have to have faith in the 4 star recruits that have been with the program now for 2 years. They aren't there to ride the bench. They're there to play Football, and he's not going to get any better without gaining the experience of playing in a game.
@@AJ-ux4sv It's just that he's looking for a Transfer QB that can potentially start over Gunner Next year. Or maybe he's just looking for a 4 star depth guy? IDK. If we look into the past, we can see Kirby's trends. How many starters has UGA had at QB that Kirby has recruited from high school that stayed with UGA? Fromm was under Mark Richt, so he doesn't count. The answer is 2. Carson Beck, and Gunner Stockton, and Stockton is only the starter now because of Beck's injury. @@boostinman7132 you may want to recheck your history. Fromm was the first recruit Kirby called in after he took the job. Remember Fromm was a Bama commit. Stetson also was a part of Smart’s first recruiting class. So the answer is not 2. It’s 4. And if you listened to Jake’s video, it’s about adding a proven backup to the room. @@boostinman7132 also Puglisi is not behind Rashada lol. Smart gave that exact quote to Rashada being 4th in the room right after the SEC Championship game
@ I’m talking about offense. I’m talking about mostly at QB. It seems Kirby doesn’t seem to trust the young talent at QB like he does on defense. Yes Fromm did well but he was put in after Eason got hurt But bringing in a freshman and starting them very rare
It’s very difficult for a freshman at the QB spot to come in and beat a guy who knows the system, knows how to get you in the right checks, and has built a trust factor.
We don’t need anymore QBs. We got a room full of 4 stars that just need reps.
Okay Coach Kirby Smart
@edgewoodaldridge I think Coach Smart’s belief is, just like in baseball regarding pitching……. you never have enough QB’s.
Plus it kinda makes it weird why he hit the portal the ga room is just as deep if not deeper

I think CKS knows the QB room better than you do.
I’d like Air Noland. I heard rumors we told him no when we had Mahomes Jr committed. Hope that bridge ain’t burned.
Why would Rashada and Puglisi not be ready to play after the spring?!?!
Because Georgia is Pro Style and harder to learn than read offense.
Go Dawgs
I do like Dane Key’s upside but he’s had his issues with drops….and that is the absolute last thing that room needs
Yepppppp
Key fixed his drop issues. Barion Brown was the receiver who had drop issues last year and he’s at LSU

@@hammertime7237 yeah and even Eric Singleton has put up similar stats to Arian Smith this season and he’s demanding $2 mill that’s ridiculous
In my opinion Georgia should get
WR Eric Singleton
WR Dane Key
QB Deshawn Purdie
Singleton won’t happen he listed top 5 and UGA wasn’t on it
UGA needs both USC Wrs that are in the portal. Robinson would be outstanding with UGA
I'm not CKS, but my eyeballs are telling me we need a massive NG and probably a plug n play DT. Keeshawn Silver would be a great fit for our DL.
Learn the correct football terms buddy
Need big guys to take up space on the O line and big guys with bad attitude on the D line.
You right
I know it won’t happen but I think Deuce Robinson and Elyssa Willams there size and talent could definitely make the tight end room dangerous!
Unfortunately Duce doesn’t want to play TE. He only wants to play WR
DB & WR
