I've had this camera now for a couple of months now and yes only use lithium batteries. I've had a pair in the camera for over a month and they are still going strong

I bought this camera to have something light to carry for those occasions when I don't need my dslr but was dissapointed with a few things like no zoom while recording, and the batteries usage was horrible, changed the batteries many times, brand new, and rechargeable as well. Finally I found Energizer lithium batteries and they actually work great, have taken at least 400 shots and batteries are still fully charged...overall is not that horrible but you get what you pay for.
so i have this camera, and im a big concert person so i love going to concerts to take videos at concerts. but the video sound is always absolutely awful but the photos i take always come out really badly. im debating on buying a new camera now
Yo vi una en mil varos pero está algo traqueteada pues el hule no lo tiene y en el display se le ven unos puntos blancos que no sé si eso afecte en su desempeño.
i had the same issue. it doesnt take alkaline. it uses lithium. i dont know why but alkaline dies in 5 minutes. but use lithium batteries and it works fine
I have this camera and Alkaline batteries SUCK on it but if you get Lithium-Ion batteries, the camera is a rock star! They do tend to cost a bit more than alkaline, but its worth your buck!
if you like this camera, dont buy AA powered camera, the power never last, 80shots at the most. besides, the flash will take forever to get charge. i dont know why they kept making those. S8200 or similar at the same price is considerable.

I got this camera for 49.95 at best buy open box new......:)) perfect for on the go snaps and pretty good night shots with 3.3 aperture.

I put in brand new alkaline batteries, started shooting video and the camera said battery exhausted after only a couple of minutes.
