- The 50m (164’) sailing yacht Silencio whispers exclusivity throughout her elegant exterior and interior areas. Youre so lucky to see Boats like that - i live at a Lake and were not allowed to have lager Boats then 25 ft. I never seen a Ship that size so im little bit nervous if i really want to have one but im not going to Sail with a 25" Ship and 2 Persons over to the Fiji Islands... :o

After seeing many charter promos; My guess is that this video is done by Perini Navi, not Northrop and Johnson [David Seal vlog].

Why does the thing have a mast ? This 5 and a half minute clip showed it under sails just 8 seconds and motoring a lot. Mighty sad for a sail yacht (though sure is easier).
mgrpvm Thanks for commenting. I have to agree with you, these large sailing yachts just don't seem to use their sails enough! I guess that's the choice of the owner though, if you charter her for a week (or better still buy her...) then you can use the sails as often as you like!

@@Yachtsforsaleblog When you look at the design of most, not all Perini Navi's you see that they are really built more as a motor sailor rather than a true sailing yacht say like Pink Gin or Wellenreiter or Shamrock V. Let's face it, a lot of billionaire's feel that it's a terrible burden or discomforting to experience a moment of heel more than about 2 degrees, whereas true sailors relish the idea of having the lee gunnels awash when beating to windward and taking on a few head seas along the way. There have been a few exceptions built by Perini Navi that are true sailor's yachts and built by real sailors.
I'm not disparaging the company as I know from the quality of their product, every one of their boats can be driven hard night and day under sail if desired. It's just that so many owners are soft and cushy and just like to sail along a coast with offshore winds and typically in a beam reach or while running so they are not heeling at all or just a slight bit. Then there are those penny pinching owners that don't want to risk a tear in a mainsail so they never unfurl them over a force 4 or so. To me you never get to know the true character of a sail boat until you are taking her out in at least a force 5 or higher and really challenging her on all points of sail. In my mind a boat isn't sailing unless your at least using your first reef point.

This is one of the only yacht videos on my channel that I did not produce myself, and I couldn't agree with you more; it's important to see the interior of a yacht before you buy or charter. This coming Spring I should be producing a video of a similar sized yacht...although a very different style...with plenty of interior footage too. Subscribe to make sure you don't miss it :0)
