What's more amusing to me is that the intro sounds a lot like 80's industrial/house like Depeche Mode or Nine Inch Nails (at the time), so if like a Martin Gore or a Trent Reznor came on instead of Ice-T we might have a makeup lipstick wearing black leather with metal shoulder spikes Eminem...like, for real
Looks like there are more lil xan Fannie's then I ever though saying this legend of a song and rapper sounds like shit or isn't good there there 12 yr old minds , same as lil xan talking down on Tupac gotta love millennial ignorance u fools r great for a laugh haahaa nice !!!
Maybe one day when ur all "growed" up u will have better appreciation for the 1s who started the game lol it's passed ur bed time kiddies gnite chumps !!!
I'm imagining young Marshall Mathers laying in bed late at night with his head phones on listening to this very track. Having those late nights being able to escape from the bullying, mood swings from his mother, and the absence of his father. This was his escapism.
This all happened because of a higher power. Of all the millions and millions of people on the planet, Em was inspired by T. You think that was a coincidence? Fer real? And of all the songs, all the artist, all the conditions, the time of day ... his life was going to change. I am inspired and listen to his music at least every other day. I'm a old white lady, 70, so since my 1st memories start with Elvis and I'm still loving RHCPs. So I heard it all. Hey! I look way better than Jagger, too.
An absolute classic of the 80 hop-hop scene. Loved it from the moment I first heard it back then. One of the best beak beats and classic scratch. Dope rhymes by Ice-T. just brilliant even almost 40 years on!!
808s slam so hard in SO many great songs, and I've had a few myself, and nowhere do they quite snap like they do here. What even impresses me more is the infectious presence of the lead analogue synth, a classic synth sound that has seldom been since duplicated, and the way he uses rolls and percussive samples and breaks risers and fallers for the transitions. Add to that the haunted house organ that pipes in every now and then and eerie phantom vocal effects that sound like they're coming out of the TV at Carol-Anne. And who doesn't love perfectly-executed (presumably analog) reverb and echo? All that adds up to a near-perfect song whose only flaw is that it needs more cowbell.
whooooooeeee.....that's what rap music should sound like.....plain and simple BUT truely unique and just awesome.......the 80s and 90s are hip hops golden age
First heard this song in the movir "Breaking" 1984, i ran out and bought the cassette, Ice T was the absolute best until LL cool J came on the scene, unbelievable times!
This is the song that Eminem's uncle Ronnie gave him that introduced him to Hiphop, and inspired him. Thumbs up if you already knew that, and thats why your here.

im here only for Ice T I discovered this song in the nineties and this was one of my favorite tracks in the nineties . we was make breakdancing with this song . greetings from Istanbul
I wanted to know more about the ending song in Breakin', so that's why I checked this out. I was impressed with the drum machine programming, possibly a TR-808, but I don't have the sounds memorized. Also possible TB-303 for the bassline, but you can program similar bass sounds on a lot of synthesizers.
I bought this song when I was 11 years old on vinyl. The electro beat was dope, but the tb-303 baseline was fuckin amazing when this first came out. Now it's dated, but I still enjoy it for the nostalgia.
Ice has always been the man, kicking knowledge, entertaining, hardcore music all his life! To be relevant after nearly 30 years in the game, he's a Real Playa;)
Props to Eminem for getting all you kiddies back into some good old school shit. Bigger props go to Ice and the rest of the old school playas for getting this shit off the ground and into your ears
This was when we called it Bass Music. This may be one of the first references to Hip Hop. I'm sure we skated to this at the Rink back in the day. Pack Jam!!¡!

I’m here because Ice T kicks ass! Listened to this everyday when I was a kid!.
I remember break dancing to this off the BREAKIN soundtrack. Good memories.
Ice T should be very proud that breakdance will be part of 2024 Olympic Games.
Wait are you for real nah you is lieing it's really a breakdancing part of the Olympics game i have to see this myself 🤣🤣

One of my favourites for sure..
Easily top 5 Old school Electro and top 10 Classic Rap.
Easily
Yeah still listening
If it wasn't for this song we'd have no Eminem.
And that's so fine, to have eminem! :)
He lay 10 days in the koma.
It was something more than this song.
I'm sure he still would have gotten into hip hop. It's in his blood . If he didn't hear this song it would have been the next one
If Dr.Dre wont ,,created,, him he wont be the Eminem :)
Nor N.W.A.
I remember hearing this song when I was in Jr. High School ... I use to break dance to this ... way before Eminem...😅
Exactly 💯 💯 💯
Ice T Top Dog in the Real Game!!! Steve Maez 2024
I remember doing a break dance show in school to this track! wow brings back some memories! 80's was a great time to grow up in! :)
From the Breakin movie, this is the extended version straight 🔥🔥
This is the best rap song and break beat of all times, I've heard this in the middle eighties.
Same ..BTW..How's everything going for you ten years later after you posted this reply? Please let me know. ✌✌👍👍
I came here cause Breakin!
So do I 😂😂😂
Same! I even went back for Breakin' 2 Electric Bugaloo when it came into the theaters.
When Electro and HipHop were one.
Phenomenal sound!
If you were a serious breaker at any point in time, when you here this, the uprock starts ASAP!
Instrumentally, this track is insane
I love the 808 sounds on this track.
One of his best as well.ua-cam.com/video/Lc0-S3_gqyg/v-deo.html. His pen was WAY more advanced on this one from 86!
One of the best tunes I've ever listened in my life.

This sounds like 80s rave music with some bars on it hahaha sickkk
man that's rap in its pure form...legendary
With a DJ named Rub, who reigned supreme, as the ear digging wizard of the kluski scene
This is the song that Eminem's uncle Ronnie gave him that introduced him to Hiphop, and inspired him.
Thumbs up if you already knew that, and thats why your here.
[Verse 1]
Once upon a time a DJ's task
Was just to play records, what more could you ask?
But then came remixes, scratching and cuts
Which was too much for many, drove some DJ's nuts
But the DJ named Glove has reigned supreme
As the turntable wizard of the hip-hop scene
So listen to him, check him out, but remember this
When The Glove's on the wheels of steel he's Reckless
[Verse 2]
This high-powered music is truly unique
As The Glove cuts the rhythm to the hip-hop beat
He moves like a madman as he spins his disc
He's the number one scratcher on the DJ list, he's Reckless
[Verse 3]
Now I've seen DJ's, too many to name
Some gained recognition and even fame
But when you talk of MC's, Ice-T is the best
And when you talk of DJ's, forget the rest, Glove's Reckless
[Verse 4]
So listen very closely as The Glove throws down
He cuts like a razor to the big beat sound
Dave's layin' down a groove that we know you'll like
With The Glove on the turntables and Ice-T on the mic, we're Reckless
[Verse 5]
So listen to the music, let your mind feel free
Realize you're with the master G-L-O-V-E
Dave and MC Ice-T, you know you're with the best
Because when we're in the mix you know the groove is fresh
and Reckless, Reckless, Reck-Reck-Re-Reckless
Wooooooothis hits is a Legendary.
"with a DJ named Rub, who reigned supreme

I put this song and i start dancing even when i know the next day i cant get up
