I started learning this song when I was a freshman in high school. I'm a junior now and I am still struggling to get through it. Yet each time I play it something wells up inside me that I can't explain. That's why Explorers of Sky is my favorite game ever made. It made me feel something that urges me forward in life. This song is the ultimate culmination of that, and I will learn it. By Arceus I will.
I started attempting to learn this song today. I didn't get far. I didn't have much time on hand, and the left hand is difficult right at the beginning (I was never good at that kind of motion). I’m pretty sure that EoS will always be my favourite Mystery Dungeon Game... ~Spoiler Warning Ahead~ Though I must say that the twist on the traditional ‘goodbye’ that they pulled on us in Super Mystery Dungeon had me crying pretty bad. It was always us that had to say goodbye before... So never in a million years was I expecting to be the one left behind.
This was sooo good! It was only music, and yet it felt 'physical', with every note filling the room as if I could touch it. That's the most artsy trash I've ever come out with and yet it's completely true
This song mixes from the Time gear theme, the partner theme, grovyle’s theme, the sunrise theme, the beach theme and the main theme all to draw from nostalgia and really makes you feel the lost. The adventure is over and it’s not coming back. It’s a much more bleak sunrise. God what a masterpiece of music this song is. You can see how it dose all this too make the player cry and it’s diabolically brilliant.

Even though this is kinda old and I've never played the game I still love this song so much. In the month I spent learning it, it's taught me a lot about practicing and how I function as a musician. Woo, you're covering this song!!! Here were my thoughts: - The ascending and descending scales gave those parts of the song a rather soothing effect, like the Fairy Fountain theme from the Zelda series. It certainly gave the song a more relaxing feel, instead of just tragic and tense. Which I didn't like. - The placement of the laptop at the top right sorta clashed with the piano and the feel of the music, if that makes sense. Dunno if it was necessary, but small point. - I really didn't like the second stop at 1:24, thought it was jarring. - Really loved the segments from 2:57 onward. - Again, hated the stop at 3:37. Why are you so stop-happy? (I dunno piano but I'm sure it's a pedal.) Can't you just let the beautiful sad note ring and fade? - Video ended early. I feel like you had to cut it short for some reason, which is a shame, since I love it when sad or slow songs have a long time at the end for it to just settle in, you know? Overall, I enjoyed!! Maybe I start with the little story behind this video: Bespinben the arranger of this song (I believe he will watch this video soon and will read your commend :D) was gone for 2 years. Close to his return, I looked through his old PMD2 arrangements to awake some nostalgic memories from the time I played PMD2. Of course, "I Don't Want to say Goodbye" is one of the most emotional songs from the soundtrack. After some practice and interpretation of my own, I decided to upload it. (Over 2 Years ago, that I heard the original of the song the last time xD) And when I now compare my interpretation with the original, I have to agree to your criticism: It's some kind of varied, like an old "transmission". (I hope this comparison makes sense :P) But all in all I'm satisfied with my interpretation. I thank you for your criticism even if some points are more directed to the arranger. ;D PS: And the Laptop is just standing there, because it is connected with my audio recorder inside the grand piano and I don't have a longer usb-cable. The song is so difficult, specially the left hand. The right hand, well, if you practise it and remember the pattern you'll be able to do it within 2 weeks. I keep making mistakes, and still my brain is trying to pick up the pattern in this song. I fail many times but, Every time I memorise a new note in this song, I feel more courage building up on me and the Determination still supporting me, even on the hard speedy notes and even when the exams are knocking on the door, I still practise it for an hour. i personally have big problems with keeping the sadness of the original.... its really hard with just 2 hands :D im missing the jumps in the left hand in minute 3... in german , becouse i cant do it in english...xD ab der dritten minute hat bespinben eine tiefe oktave und dann 3 jeweils nach oben verschobene akkorde gespielt. du hast jeddoch den zweiten akkord 3 mal gespielt , was mir weniger gefallen hat , aber trotzdem gut war :)
Das andere war mir einfach zu schwer ^^, da müsste ich ständig zwischen der linken und rechten Hand hin und her gucken um die Tasten zu treffen. Wenn ich in einer Hand etwas relativ gleichbleibendes spiele, kann ich mich auf die andere Hand mehr konzentrieren. Und bei dem ganzen hin und hergespringe geht das einfach nicht ohne ständig zu gucken wo man seine Finger lässt xD.

Woo, you're covering this song!!! Here were my thoughts:
- The ascending and descending scales gave those parts of the song a rather soothing effect, like the Fairy Fountain theme from the Zelda series. It certainly gave the song a more relaxing feel, instead of just tragic and tense. Which I didn't like.
- The placement of the laptop at the top right sorta clashed with the piano and the feel of the music, if that makes sense. Dunno if it was necessary, but small point.
- I really didn't like the second stop at 1:24, thought it was jarring.
- Really loved the segments from 2:57 onward.
- Again, hated the stop at 3:37. Why are you so stop-happy? (I dunno piano but I'm sure it's a pedal.) Can't you just let the beautiful sad note ring and fade?
- Video ended early. I feel like you had to cut it short for some reason, which is a shame, since I love it when sad or slow songs have a long time at the end for it to just settle in, you know?
Overall, I enjoyed!! Really nice playing! Thank you for making PMD piano covers!! :D :D

Maybe I start with the little story behind this video: Bespinben the arranger of this song (I believe he will watch this video soon and will read your commend :D) was gone for 2 years. Close to his return, I looked through his old PMD2 arrangements to awake some nostalgic memories from the time I played PMD2. Of course, "I Don't Want to say Goodbye" is one of the most emotional songs from the soundtrack. After some practice and interpretation of my own, I decided to upload it. (Over 2 Years ago, that I heard the original of the song the last time xD) And when I now compare my interpretation with the original, I have to agree to your criticism: It's some kind of varied, like an old "transmission". (I hope this comparison makes sense :P)
But all in all I'm satisfied with my interpretation. I thank you for your criticism even if some points are more directed to the arranger. ;D
PS: And the Laptop is just standing there, because it is connected with my audio recorder inside the grand piano and I don't have a longer usb-cable. So this is the only place where I can put my laptop.

I was seven years old when I played this game. My partner was a vulpix named "Cutie" and I was a skitty named "MeowMeow." When this part of the story came along, I was SOBBING! I was so glad that the ending didn't stay that way, but at the same time I thought, "God damn! How dare they put little kids like me in such grief and then just say 'Ahahaha, SIKE!' They're just screwing with our emotions!" Those were my thoughts as a seven year old 😂
So, there was a human named MeowMeow? Her parents must've hated her!
(Actually, I had a Skitty named Puffy, so the parents of Puffy must've wanted an embarrassing name! What if Puffy as a human NOT turned into a Pokemon came out as hardcore and edgy! Haha!)

The song is so difficult, specially the left hand. The right hand, well, if you practise it and remember the pattern you'll be able to do it within 2 weeks. I keep making mistakes, and still my brain is trying to pick up the pattern in this song. I fail many times but, Every time I memorise a new note in this song, I feel more courage building up on me and the Determination still supporting me, even on the hard speedy notes and even when the exams are knocking on the door, I still practise it for an hour. Keep Kool, and Play On.

i personally have big problems with keeping the sadness of the original.... its really hard with just 2 hands :D
im missing the jumps in the left hand in minute 3... in german , becouse i cant do it in english...xD ab der dritten minute hat bespinben eine tiefe oktave und dann 3 jeweils nach oben verschobene akkorde gespielt. du hast jeddoch den zweiten akkord 3 mal gespielt , was mir weniger gefallen hat , aber trotzdem gut war :)
Das andere war mir einfach zu schwer ^^, da müsste ich ständig zwischen der linken und rechten Hand hin und her gucken um die Tasten zu treffen. Wenn ich in einer Hand etwas relativ gleichbleibendes spiele, kann ich mich auf die andere Hand mehr konzentrieren. Und bei dem ganzen hin und hergespringe geht das einfach nicht ohne ständig zu gucken wo man seine Finger lässt xD.
