H.E.B. is named after (Howard Edward Butt) he was the son of Florence Butt who
Started a small grocery store in 1905?
Her son opened some after WW2 when he got back the first few stores failed. But
Soon it all came together and the store was named after him using his initials. H.E.B.
This is one of the largest individual owned companies in America..
We know.. it;s just easier to say Heeb.. 😉
@@ChangingLanes Don't ever do that again. LOL We love our H. E. B. stores.
Heeb! Austin native here. 😁
HA HA HA....."that jackass" ....you both went off like I do on a regular basis here in Charlotte. Like word for word. I'm a fan of the channel for life. Great vid!!
You should hear the words that get cut! 😳
That is one of the things we dislike about pulling our 5th wheel. Its a lot smaller than yours but still heavy enough that we can't stop on a dime. People just don't understand that! @ChangingLanes
You sound like me .. when they do that .. 😂
You’re killing me brother 😂😂. 11 months we are full timing, not in your size Rv , but just loving life
Glad y'all enjoyed Magnolia Beach and Matagorda Bay. My sister lives down the coast from you on Mustang Island she's taken me up and down the coast sightseeing. :) And by the way, the grocery store is not pronounced "Heb," it's actually pronounced by its initials - "H. E. B." a Texas favorite grocery store.
Enjoyed meeting you both. Sorry we didn’t get to talk longer. Enjoyed this video 😊
Awesome 👍👍👍😎 report
That was some pretty good FREE beach camping. Any beach camping we have done, we have had to work for it. It was definitely easy access there.
That was a Million dollar lunch view on the deck . Thst is a beautiful place to stay as long as the humidity is not to high.
HEB 😂 say the letters.
Fantastic!
Welcome to Texas. Love your set up and the Indian Motorcycle. I have been following watching your videos for a while now. Spent a many day on that beach in my teens and twenties. I'm 54 now have a 40 ft Keystone Raptor Toy Hauler and love it. Enjoy the info and tips and SAFE travels.
It's hard to beat that lunctime view at the magnificent Magnolia seaside.
Wow Beach camping has to be awesome. It combines two of our favorite things, the beach and camping 😊
Great show. Great info. Love the volta. 😊Thanks
Stay safe out there. Crazy drivers goodness
We were just there over Memorial Day. We have several cabins there, but I took my Solitude as we had a lot of people to sleep. Glad you liked it and sorry we missed you.
Fantastic video. Great beach!
There she is!!! I’ve missed Lucille. It’s nice to see her again 🤭😁👍👍🏍️🏍️
Very nicely done video.
I have wanted to try Magnolia Beach since I saw Tom and Cherie of Enjoy the Journey go there. It looks absolutely beautiful. Hope you enjoyed your time there.
Awesome spot and view
My number one gripe about camping anymore is people not picking up after their dog. We travel with a dog and sometimes end up picking up more crap from others than our own. Post Covid camping crush really brought down common courtesy and etiquette in camping. We just spent a week in Yellowstone, and while walking our dog, we found that someone dumped their steak trimmings (raw bone, fat, some meat) in the woods, just 20 feet from the campground. It's bear season. The campground goes above and beyond to warn you that its serious and be careful. Unbelievable idiots.
Nice setup and good places 🏝
Love Magnolia Beach. Lots of history along that beach and in the nearby town of Indianola. Will be in nearby Port O’Connor in a month for the 4th.
Thanks for the video.
Ahhhh... That precious Daisy...💗 Y'all b e careful!!
Yes those pink picnic table spots are free. We stayed beside one a few years ago.
Good choice with Shiner.
Thanks for the FREE Liquefied. Looks like a great place to visit.
That did look nice.... and welcome to the Texas Humidity... lol... Y'all stay safe and keep these great vids coming. See y'all on the road!
This is so neat to see...I was born in Port lavaca and it's where my father's family is from and cousins still live. Our family owns several beachfront lots on magnolia Beach right about where you guys are at.. thank you for showing off the beautiful spots in my ancestors home town😊❤️
Glad that you liked “Bubba’s Seafood”.
John from the beach…
Thanks for the recommendation! 😊
We love our HEB here in Texas.
I think the hit of the video was that "jackass" that didnt go very far ahead after.
I think everyone one of us commenting on here would say exactly the same thing. Lol
That made my day, thanks for the laugh!😂
Luckily you guys didnt have to slam your breaks on.
A thought on humidity while boondocking.
We have a small $50. humidifier we run on the inverter to keep the humidity in the RV down. That keeps us from having to use the AC (heavy power draw) as often to keep the interior dry. During the early summer and early fall months we're actually able to set the temp on the AC higher, while still feeling the same comfort level.
It will normally pull a cup or two of moisture per day, a little more if we keep the doors open.
I'm from around here, yall did a good job representing this place.
I hope you enjoyed the Shiner beer. My dad was from there. It's worth checking out. I was hoping that you would have said something about Indianola. It was a landing spot for many immigrants it the 1880s. There was a town there but too many hurricanes wiped out the buildings. There is a statue of Laffite and some plaques about the ghost town. the remains of the building are in the bay.
I ordered the free Liquified and am excited to try it. Shipping was $5.99, which seems reasonable. Thanks for always, always providing great content!
Love HEB My Dad was a store manager for years in the Valley We used to go to Kerrville to the HEB lodge. There is also a HEB lodge in Fulton Beach.
H E B stands for Howard E. Butts Company.
Used to, about 10 or so years ago they changed it to Here Everything’s Better!
Careful pointing your exhaust at your camper. If it goes into regen then it could melt your siding.
Yes its all Free to park anywhere on beach. Go to Port A and pay 12 dollar fee for a year and park on the beach facing the coast
Welcome to the humidity! We run a dehumidifier when we are in Galveston beach!
There's also a Harvest Host, which is the Magnolia Beach Campground. Prior to our "boondock readiness", we stayed there for about two weeks. Next visit, we've already planned to be on the beach, and then do our dump and fill at the campground on the way out.
Ordered my free bottle Chad. Thanks for the link.
We just left Magnolia Beach May 10th. It was HOT! So hot that we left early to get ourselves some 50amp service! Really enjoyed the beach but wanted to spend more time outside than inside with AC. It was our first time beach camping and we would definately do it again!
Just now watching this week's video. for that white truck that NEEDED to be in front of you on the highway, Chad needs to get with the program and get an air horn (LOL).
You're on the beach in TX, eating lovely sandwiches. We're in the mountains of Utah eating our pastrami sandwiches (on rye, and mine has kraut) at a Harvest Host at a farm/orchard and barn store.
Love this RV life. ☺
Very nice. Another great beach is in Port Aransas Enjoy. Get your truck and RV washed asap.
One or two more solar panels on top or portable solar and you'd be on the positive side with the A/C running.
Must be just awful to have sit that close to the beach having lunch! ;-) Keep em coming!
🎥……✨🏆✨….. Stay safe guy’s! ….❤️🔥….as always, another great video!! 🇺🇸🇳🇱
11:50 So true.
Given our warming climate, I think the next step in RV interior upgrades shuld be dehydrator- to-freshwater recycling.
I could see the benefits of that charging system while driving since the truck is already running but that idle time is bad for the Emmissions system. I'll stick with the Yamaha onboard genny.
Great location would love to try that out some time. Guessing the tied doesn't come up to fare. :) Thanks for sharing.
You might want to check out a dehumidifier. They do make small ones and they are not that pricy. But they sure make life when RVing a whole lot more enjoyable. We've found that turning on the AC tends to just cool down the moisture but doesn't get rid of it. Great video guys.
Our AC system dehumidifies as well. But, when we don't want to burn 1500W, a dehumidifier is the way to go. 👍🏼
Sheesh, the inconsiderate people, the guy cutting you off on the highway and the people leaving their dogs poo on the beach! Ugh!! Planning on doing some camping on P.I.N.S. on the beach here in the next year in our Super C, can’t wait! Thanks for the content!
Glad y'all made it down. Our homebase is Magnolia Beach, in fact, our house made your video. It was one of the blue houses on the right as you turned onto Ocean Drive. We aren't there now but it would have been very cool to meet you out there. Stay safe and keep doing what you do.
I live in Waco. We don't have a RV yet but anytime you need a housesitter my wife and I are willing to help out! :p
H.E.B., not Heb.
Lol. Say the letters. 😂
One syllable is easier than three.. 😊
@@ChangingLanes😂True that.
Well Chad, I will send you a get well soon card if you keep doing the do not do's as you age in place my friend!
Question: Why are you not using the Kleen tank formula for your holding tanks?
Thank you for all your great tips and maintenance information you provide!
Your videos are always a great source of information on RV's and where to go and what to see!
"Jackass" LOL. Crazy drivers out here. We are safely driving, it's the other people that are crazy! Your site is pretty freakin awesome! 😮 WOW. Beautiful sunset. Loved this location, we will be checking this out for sure! - Michelle
H.E.B. stands for Howard Edward Butt the owner.... but we like to say in HEB land is Here Everything is better
As a truck driver for37years, to answer your question about line time, although you’ve probably had many answers to a varying degree, it, as a rule of thumb, comes down to drivers hours of service, we like to minimize our stops and maximize our hours of work (as usually drivers are paid by the mile!) so by law, 15 minutes is the minimum a driver has to log for fueling up, so he will then pull forward to the line, dash in, use the bathroom, grab something to eat, shop or what ever, get back to the truck and fill out our log, check load ect, all , hopefully within 15 minutes. This is because we are forced by law to take a 45 minute break with a certain amount or working time/driving. This can be broken down into a 15 and a 30 or a 45 block! So the driver may have already had a 30 somewhere and is just needing a 15 to finish it off. Is the driver needs more time, he may just pull off the pump and park up in a slot then go to do the what they need to do. So I’d say, the answer to your question would be 15 minutes.
Beautiful and free till one's screw it up. As you said pu after animals.
Was a happy camper die hard until we tried Matt’s. Won’t use anything else.
We live in Victoria and often go to Magnolia Beach (but not with the camper...yet). Interesting fact about that concrete and glass structure is that it is owned by Canadians!
Oh yea.. that thing is.... interesting!
Really love watching you guys travels! Thanks for the code for the toilet product. Also please don’t swing the camera so fast, like just pan slowly we’re old and it’s dizzying! Thanks ! Have fun at the beach!
The "HEB" is actually H. E. B. (Say the letters.) They stand for a man's name, Howard Edward Butt. I think H-E-B sounds nicer than his name. Imagine saying, "I'm going to Butt's to get some groceries." LOL Loved your video. We're Texans, so we will have to explore that area someday.
We used "HEEB" as short-hand.. But I like "butts" better! 😊
Welcome to Texas. Home of the Jackass!!
Hey we just stayed in the EXACT SAME RV spot at Seaside RV Resort. HEY CHAD were there still little stick and rock toy sized buildings built in the gravel at the back of the spot? My kids built their own little city there
I say the same thing. You got real far ahead cutting me off.
I died laughing when ya'll said you were at heeb, I just got a delivery of groceries from them today. I love their food. Did the one you were at have True Texas Bar-B-Que? If you find one that does have it, you definitely need to get some.
70ft ahead of where you would have been😂. As a truck driver this drives me crazy. People going nowhere fast.
Hello, I really enjoy your channel as well as many of your friends channels. Phill and Stacy, the Hanks and others.
I have been looking into rving and in doing some research on weights.
I came a cross at least in Michigan and Tennessee of 26,000 Lb is the limit of combine weight of the truck and trailer before needing a CDL. Tennessee requires that trucks with trailer use weigh station.
I wanted to know how accurate this is?
In your travels what are some of the different state laws and what information you should have if your pulled over..
Thanks
I couldn't agree with you more, Chad. Idiots like 4:30 needlessly ruin it for others. Thankfully nothing happened.
I hope the Volta system works good for yall I just not keen about running the truck to much noise
Indeed, that is one of the drawbacks. More for neighbors than for us inside.
@@ChangingLanesdoes the truck use less fuel/ make less noise than an inverter generator?
We just got back from Tx looking to move, well the drivers alone is one reason not to move there.
I think the Volta system would be great if you had a built in generator to get the quick charge up.
Same. We miss our onboard genny.
You were about an hour North of us, we are at Bubba's a lot. Twice in the last two weeks. Wed. is all you can eat crawfish. I know your next destination well, there a lot of great places to go and see in and around the area. I am sure that Chad will love the WWII museum. Tara, there is a chocolate shop that is really good called Quintessential Chocolates at 251 W Main. If you get out on the three sisters; be very careful of the fuzzy tailed forest rats (deer). The gentleman that owed the Motorcycle stop in Leakey lost his life to one of them a while back, a real lost to the motorcycling community. Hippie Chicks in Concan has a really good pizza and I believe you might like that as well, kind of a funky little place. There is a low water crossing just west of there on the river road that is a really good photo opp for bikes as well.
Loved your video. Is it first come first serve at Magnolia Beach, TX or how does camping for free there work?
Yes... 👍🏼
How much diesel do you use when using your truck as a generator?
Hello from Houston. My grown kids and i went to the Johnson Space Center back in the fall 2023. I use to live in Nassau Bay Tx, walking distance to Nasa. How long ago was this video made? I thought i saw y'all near Pearland Friendswood
We were there in March.
Beautiful area to camp
Great video. Am I overlooking the link for the free trial tank treatment?
Here you go: changinglanesrv.com/free-liquified
@@ChangingLanes perfect. Thank you
Be sure to wash the salt off the trailer, truck and bike or rust will start.
Holy crap, did you get Chad to eat a salad!? 16:08
I would be super disappointed spending that kind of money on an upgrade and have to run truck too. Nice set up though!
I know the ground is solid with crushed shells and compressed dirt, but are there a bunch of goat head stickers mixed into the dirt as well? I have wanted to visit, but I don't want to take the grandkids if stickers are everywhere on the beach.
Didn't notice any... 👍🏼
Jacka*** for sure
I have seen videos of magnolia beach before, where did you get water?
We filled up in Houston at the RV park since we weren't traveling far.
If you come through San Antonio, I’ll cook you dinner.
I’ve always thought idling a modern diesel is really bad for the exhaust garbage. Anyone have truth data on this? Seems smarter to just run the Rv generator instead of compromising your truck.
How do you control the truck rpm when using it to charge?
With this: us.bddiesel.com/products/6-7l-powerstroke-high-idle-control-ford-2017-2019?variant=30073637011520
Ppl who cut you off like that scare the crap out of me and we have an overabundance of them around ATL. I hate to go through ATL!
FYI, liquidfied will only give free bottle to ppl in the States. Am in Canada and tried for a free bottle, no luck.
Sorry about that.. I made a note on our links...
Do you still have Sumosprings on your truck and your Momentum?
Stock suspension on the F450 and MORryde Independent Suspension on the RV.
What tires are you running on the F450?
Michelin XDS2
I assume there is no problem running onboard generators?
No problem at all.. we just don't have one.
Boy, your lunch view was hard to take 😂
