Great discussion. She’s very mature. I think I would be a mess.

Is it weird to hope that Aly becomes the future president of USA Gymnastics someday? Or, hell, I feel like she has the power, poise, and drive to create the organization that could one day replace the one that failed her and many others. Whoever the future leaders of the gymnastics world are, I hope many of them are from this group of "Sister Survivors." Their world needs to be led by somebody who understands the extent of how the old systems failed them in order to move forward.
Edit: Ah. See. This is why you wait till the end of a video to comment xD I still think she could do it though

After physical bullying I developed severe anger issues, for the next 3 years of my life I kept fighting against myself in my head that I was eating shit during every meal. While eating tomato or chilli sauce I fought against myself in my head that I was eating menstrual period blood. During EVERY single second of those 3 years I also kept fighting against myself in my head that the bullies were sodomizing me and my family members. As a result I severely couldn't concentrate during exams and classes.
I am still having self esteem issues 14 years on from the incident.
I went to army and didn't do some admin work due to fighting myself in my head and army people thought I was lazy and thus bullied me as well.
This is why I have zero sympathies and zero tolerance for bullies. I am 31 years old and don't even have a wife now, partly sabotaged due to bullying. I went to teach the bullies a lesson by cyberbullying/harassing them online, the bullies were so "strong" until they went to call the police LOL, but like I mentioned above, I have zero regrets :)

It is said that Maggie Nichols asked Aly Raisman if that was normal and Maggies coach over heard it and called Maggies mom, they told people within the organization and told the Nichols they would handle it they tried cover it. Nichols was mistreated by the organization and did not make the 2016 team. The investigation launched had a group of investigators come to the Raismans for interview and this is when the family realized what happened. Very confused as to why she said something different here when in many other documentaries it is said differently.

She was confused and taken by surprise when she was first interviewed, she clarified, it was because he was a doctor and thought it was a valid treatment, but after being interviewed and hearing about other victims and what they said and talking to her parents and friends she realized what he did wasn't treatment at all, when Maggie and Aly were talking, Aly said to Maggie he does it to everyone so it Must be OK, But Maggies coach who is an adult and "aware" knew it wasn't right immediately. Which goes to show how Ignorant these young girls were to what Nassar was doing, and he took full advantage.

@@Aaang6 - August as I understand it, she didn't know what happened to her was abuse and how many were molested, when she was first interviewed, the interview wasn't planned and she was surprised by the allegations, at that time she said she thought it was a medical treatment so didn't say anything to her parents, or anyone else. After she was interviewed, she, along with her parents, started putting the pieces together and realized what Nasser actually had been doing, not just to her, but to so many others. The more she learned, the more information that came out, she was able to understand what had happened to her and was able to clarify in more detail what she has experienced. There are people like Arlene Isabea, who don't understand why these young Gymnast didn't know what was happening to them, she states above Aly didn't know until the investigators interviewed her and her story has changed. Her story hasn't changed, it has just expanded, What started as realizing she was a victim of Nassar to trying to make changes to protect all athletes. Plus the interviewer has a lot to do with how detailed the interview will be.

Aly Raisman is not only a 'great athlete', but is also a powerful role model! She was truly placed here by God for such a time as this! Our 'olympic gymnastics progam' needs to be totally changed. There are many things more important than 'bringing home the gold'! Thank you, Aly, for being 'bold enough' to humble yourself and EXPOSE EVIL in the midst of America's highly successful Olympic Gymnasts! Shalom!

Her being goodlooking or not has absolutely nothing to do with it. This interview is about being respected as a person. You have completely missed what she wants to get across. I suggest you watch again the interview and that this time you'll LISTEN.

It's really interesting to note here though Maggie Nichols reports abuse , it costs her the oLYMPICS, while Aly reported it and god forbid she got to go to the Olympics.. I mean the organisation is shady af

Many adults look at this from an adults perspective, and don't understand why these girls didn't know what he was doing. They don't understand these were young girls, they knew nothing about sex, they didn't date, go to dances, didn't interact with boys or other girls outside the gym, their focus was training, school, eating and sleeping, they were ignorant of what they were never exposed to. I'm a 70 year old male and have no Idea what a doctor does while giving a pelvic exam to a woman, so how can anyone think a young girl would know what any kind of exam entails, on top of that, those who were old enough or more aware didn't have anyone to tell, those that did speak up no one believed or if they did they covered it up. Aly said she spoke up before the 2016 Olympics and still made the team, keep in mind they had no way to justify not selecting her, Maggie Nicole's should have been selected, at least as an alternate, but wasn't because I think not only did she speak up she was pushing for something to be done, she went to the FBI, they had wiggle room because she had just recovered from an injury, but it sent a message to other Girls.

If you would run for the US Senate, I would vote for you Ali. I watched you and the other girls perform. Thought that team from 2012 and 2016 was the best team we ever had.

I don’t think that at all, but she does have a platform as a two time Olympic athlete and therefore she takes advantage of that to make others aware.

@@amalieramirezslot7861 why aint the other victims talking about it like the she is...

    • @williambingham3408

She doesn't need fame, she has it, if you took the time to watch all the victim statements, you would see almost all of them broke down and had a difficult time talking about it, She has a platform and she is speaking up not only for herself, but also for all those who don't have a platform, or find it to hard to speak for themselves, Many girls don't want the attention, they want to move on and put it behind them, doesn't mean they don't want the system fixed, doesn't mean they don't want people to be made aware of what goes on all over the world, Denhollander has a platform too and is still working to make a difference. The reason a woman usually doesn't like to talk about abuse is because people can be judgmental and may be dealing with their own issues and don't want to hear about it because it's too painful and lash out, or those who are just hateful and feel threatened by it and attack the messenger to shut down the message. Look what people did to Gabby because of her hair, can you imagine what they would say if she were speaking out like Aly is.
