Maybe if they Forrest service would do some controlled burns in the winter to clear bush away from inhabited areas might be a good plan! When I was a kid each logged area was responsible for cleaning up debris when they were finished in that area.

Back burns are needed to remove debris on the ground. Leaves and twigs can ignite the fire even more if left that way.

There is no indication that arson is on the rise in any way or responsible for the largest wildfires. Deliberately set fires tend to be a very small proportion of all wildfires. Mike Flannigan, wildfire expert at the University of Alberta has stated - "arson ignitions in Canada comprise between 1% and 3% of fire starts. When arson does cause fires, it’s often in urban areas."
Flannigan has also stated that "the increase in area burned in Canada is a direct result of human caused climate change. The area burned has doubled in Canada since the 1970s as a result of warming temperatures.”
