Remembering: Hurrican Isabel hits Va

It's hard to believe that 19 years ago Hurricane Isabel hit us here in the Hampton Roads area hard. I had friends without power for close to a month, ppl stealing generators at night, curfew set because nobody had power. My cousin in Poquoson lost his 7 year old Koi fish. Lots of ppl cooking on the grill, waiting for hours for gas. Dolphins swimming on the LAFB flightline. That was the worst one I had ever lived through.

I remember this very well. I had just arrived at the Chesapeake Bay to fish. Needless to say we didn't get to fish very much. This storm was devastating.

You know striper season is closing in, I cant wait. One year we'll have to go fishing, us girls against the boys. We will so kick their butts lol I caught a 8lb striper afew years ago. I also caught a baby bull shark, I'm sure hes alot bigger now lol one year we were family fishing, my son went to check his bait cause the blue crabs were hitting hard. Guess what came up, a beautiful pregnant seahorse. I took a couple picture and gently put him back to have his babies. The year isabel hit I lived eight outside Langley and the dolphins were swimming on the flightline.
