They usually pan to the culprit, but if its unclear , McDavid gets an unwanted cameo.

Honestly this was such a fun game to watch IRL. I havent been to a game in 10+ years and so this was so fun to watch, fans were nice to each other (mostly), and people were just having a good time really.
Korpisalo was unreal. Sens power play capitalised when it needed to. Well-deserved win!
Sens had what, 3 shots in the 3rd period and 2 were goals. 1 being an open net. brutal

That being said if he's hit and miss like that in the playoffs they will have to out score their problems which is possible but also very unfortunate.

@@smwstudio9427 How about our defense? Everyone is so quick to blame Korpi each night but Chychrun and JBD continuously make awful turnovers about 15 feet away from our net. It's real easy to blame the goalie, but look first at guys like Zub and Chabot, who consistently mess up easy clearing efforts from their own end, often resulting in a goal. Korpi was great tonight and has been solid throughout the season. Goaltending is not the issue

@@gimmick7389goaltending is only part of the issue with this team. The roster needs to be retooled. Everyone blamed coaching, now goaltending, at some point it’s time to take a look at the roster and make some significant changes

I totally agree. But adam has done better than brown... In much less time. It wasn't management error. Teams didn't want to strengthen Edmonton. Holland had to do something and he did. Unfortunately this was the only thing on the table.

Ekholm is our best defenseman, and he gets bested every now and again. It's just hockey, if there was a perfect answer it wouldn't be fun to watch.

@@crypsis5676 You mean shots from professional hockey players who when given no challenge and excessive time and space, can pick a spot that would go in most of the time. Last I checked, the logo on the jersey doesn’t determine the quality of the shot.
Sens got 3 goals on only 13 shots. When they went on a power play late in the 3rd, I leaned towards my brother and said, "What are the odds they get a 4th goal on the 14th shot?". I thought I was making a joke not a prediction. The only upside of this game was Hyman's 50th. Gratz! Otherwise, what a disaster. Pickard really needs some work.
Refs could also make better calls.

Great steal by Korpisalo. Unfortunately Ottawa's goalies haven't been up to the task this year. It's not all on them but too many times they've let the team down.
I love it when Edmonton loses; I hope that the team misses the playoffs. THAT is the best spring gift possible.

I was thinking just today when the season ends, I think he will be offered up for a trade. Oilers are stuck with Nurse, as no team will want him unless team pays a good part of his salary. Will they also put Leon up for trade to get some defenseman? However, Oilers for the last 15 years have thought they could win a Cup stickily on offense, so that train of thought probably won't change.
Kane can be the best person in the world. I think he gets bored too easily. I wish him the best, but I think his best quality is chaos. For his career, just keep moving. Prove people wrong. FAAFO.
@@trvman1funny you say that. I love Leon, I predicted his success before anyone I knew. However, I would hope a trade for a goalie. I would never trade Leon, but I think his value might be surpassing the team. My estimate was $11mil, and that would bank the oilers a good goalie.
The biggest weakness of the Oilers is still a glaring weakness - their D core. They are so flipping thin on D, I dont understand why they continue to avoid focusing on that part of the team.

Sanderson shut down almost every McDavid rush and the Sens goalie stole a game and the less said about Pickard and half the Oilers defense the better. I hope the Oilers can go on a run in the playoffs but there's a lot of dead weight on that squad
Besides the dead weight, something seems off with the team chemistry.
It's all about money. We have 2 of the bestplayers ever. So top heavy. Vegas proved its possible to win the cup with "moneyball"(movie). Honestly, watching 82 games with this team, means more than the cup. Historically and percentage wise edmonton are monsters.

Just a pathetic effort. The 11 Ontario boys on the Oilers took the weekend off. Our AHL goalie had just 15 shots and he let 5 in. He ended up with 6.88 % average. That should put him on the next plane to California If I owned the Oilers, I would make them bus to their next game
Honestly, it was a nothing game for the Oilers. This happens every year now. They gain advantage by being 2nd. Just remember the last 2 years they were beat by the Champs.

Yeah. Senators beat Oilers and Oilers beat Senators this year so it is a tie. I am fan of both Senators and Oilers.
Hope both of these teams end their regular seasons by defeating Colorado and Boston though. Colorado and Boston are like bosses in the NHL in 2023/2024. Colorado especially have 9 game streak now and hope Oilers will defeat them.

Oilers fans won't like reading this, but I think this game might just be the point where the team will settle for 2nd in the Pacific Division and not bother trying to catch Canucks. If Canucks win the next 2-3, it will be pretty much mathematically impossible to catch up. Even if Oilers win their games in hand, the gap is just too big.

Because of tiebreaker the oilers have to finish up at least a point, so even if they win their games in hand they are 6 back but need to be up 1 so 7 points.
They would have to have 3 more wins and an OT loss in 11 games is a big ask. Especially with their schedule which has been easy all year up until a week ago.

I know its a bit early. Seems like a lot of people think this game was important. Oilers are still 2nd in the pacific. It was a tough weekend. Not a huge deal. Biggest thing was hymans 50th, and they did it. Every game is important, but this weekend should almost be treated like training.
Oilers will never win a cup without strong goaltending. The template for success isn’t the way the Oilers are built. Goaltending is an issue, period.

The Oilers PK has got to be better, but this game was completely bunk for an officiating perspective. The calls on Deharnais and Ekstrom were laughable, not even close to penalties.

Completely embarrassing weekend of hockey. This team can’t get up for this game after last nights pathetic effort? They should just have dreams of getting out of the first round.
I might get trolled for this but I don't care. The Oilers are at best a two line team. Defense is suspect. Skinner has been solid after a rough start. To be competitive going into the playoffs, they need depth and total committment. from all lines. Lose 6-3 to the Leafs and 5-3 to the Senators..what? You have time to correct it. You cannot rely on Connor, Leon or Zack. The whole team has to do their thing. Get it before you lose it

Alright, I think i need to say this. Why is it LITERALLY EVERY TIME THE OILERS LOSE A GAME, I see people in the comments like "They lost the game because they played a decent team" or "This proves their win streak was a fluke" or "So much for them being cup contenders", and yet I see this happening to almost no other team.
