I think that cams going to make it sound very nice. I got a similar setup but I'm running with a TFS 1 cam, GT40X 64cc heads to go with my GT40 intake. Its all put on my first 302 I was shown how to rebuild back when I lived in the state of Alabama. A friend of mine who owns SVP Unlimited shop is who showed me how to put all my internals and parts in. It was the best experience I've had and I still have the 302 block with internals that came out of my GT ready to be rebuilt for all motor applications. I dont know if you had to check piston to valve clearance since its got high lift like my cam but the F303 cam is what I may get for my next build.
Actually rebuilt a 302! Did an e303 cam & bigger exhaust valves!! Installed an electric fan from a 97,98 mustang!! So far runs great! Blew a few fast furious wanna be's off road past couple of weeks ago.... these young bucks don't know old American muscle?! Lol!! They need a turbo or supercharger?!?!
I love all you videos man. Your timing cover came off way better then mine. I snapped two bolts off from the pump which added an extra headache. But I like that you always list off what the sizes of bolts are. It's helped me out a ton on many other videos. Keep up the good work!
is there any mods that you need to do to it to install it? and how much did it cost you at the yard? i looked through your vids but meh i couldnt find much on it
Get it dog! F303 ! I hav got 2 get me one of these!!! Lol! I'm still dreaming but soon I'll be skimming(prob spelled wrong!?)..... Your videos are motivating & helpful! Keep at it dogg !!!!!
Hello sir, great video and I have a question. I want to install a small cam in my 86 Foxbody (Twisted wedge or E cam)? The engine will be installed and All stock. Is it absolutely necessary to replace the lifters, springs, push rods? Trying to keep cost down lol. Thanks!
Hey Tony great info I have a question I have a 92 bronco 5.0 speed density if I install the heads and camshaft out of a 96 explorer end run the firing order of the 5.0 MAF system will it fire up with the speed density injection firing order and if it does will it wort the effort
Not a good combo. The explorer cam is garbage. Also you have to keep the original firing order of your engine because it's associated with your crank and cam. If you just starting swapping stuff out of wack, you'll smack a piston with a valve.
Ok tanks for the information I’m going try to do the MAF swap but I’m going to do it with junkyard parts other thing if you can shoot a video what it takes to do the swap!! Tanks Tony
I did not 5.0 crankshafts were different I know camshafts between speed density and MAF are different that’s why firing order change speed density fires left and right bank and MAF is sequential my question is if I install a performance camshafts and better heads and keeping speed density injection will it work by just running the firing order of the distributor known that the fuel injection is x bank
I have a question man, you installed an f303 cam on a stock pistons, the question is can i install x303 cam on a stock piston or there will be no clearance between the valve and the piston
If i swap a cam from my old motor to a replacement will i need swap the lifters from the old motor with the cam to the replacement because how it wore down or keep the original ones in there? Or should i replace the lifters?
Quick question, did you degree the cam when you installed? Im doing the cam swap in my 351w, from flat tapper to roller lifter, with the trick flow cam. Do I need to degree that cam, I know I need to measure new push rods. Thanks man!
Hey tony I have a 1988 5.0 mustang 5 speed, speed density. I got Gt40p heads, Gt40 ported lower intake ( tmoss ) 70mm throttle body, Afpr, Anderson ( CAI ) power pipe, 1.7 rr's and 3:73 rear gears. What is the best speed density camshaft to put in it?
Hello, I have a stock ford used 302 and I want to put it in a 1986 Ford truck. What type of camshaft do you recommend me along with a set of afr 165 heads? Looking for some rough idle and about 350 hp.
Engine will not run. Roller lifters stay pumped up and solid on stock cam. If you switch cam with different base circle and lift these lifters will not adjust. You have to use new lifters that are not pumped up. Or you can reuse original lifters but only if you have an adjustable valve train.
Quick question I’m tryna do a super budget build ,can i get away using the stock valve train with any letter cam? I read b cam definitely.....that is stock pushrods, springs, lifters, rocker arms???
What is the highest lift camshaft you can go on a foxbody with GT40 heads what is the highest lift camshaft you can go on a 5.0 foxbody with GT40 heads stock bottom end
I just had that problem today on my 351. Best to just replace the tube going into your block. Mine was a press fit yours may have threads - you will find out. Use a torch to heat up the tube at the base to help free it - may have to give it a few manly wacks too. Try to unscrew it with channel locks or a small pipe wrench if you have room to swing. Install a new nipple into the block - use some anti-seize to seal.
Cool man i have a lot of craftsman stuff too. I just bought a 4 piece set of gearwrench 120xp ratchets their awesome try one out if you ever get a chance.
yo bro my 1998 Mustang GT can I put a 1998 Crown Victoria 4.6 in it will it work and also does it have the same internals as the 4.6 that is originally in there right now the original motor has 200 plus thousand miles on it and I can't find the original 1998 4.6 I want to use a Crown Victoria motor or what kind of motor can I put just plug and play???? I would really appreciate it bro thanks
yes theyre the same, but there are a few small differences in the heads and intake. I would get some PI heads for sure and intake and use the crown vic short block and boom
Great video! Commentary and teaching is neccessary, even with simple common sense, we need reminders.
Junkya dog is phenomenal
Love the video! I was a little nervous on doing a cam in my 302 swapped jeep now I’m feeling more confident. Thanks!

Oh yeah I'm gonna love it, plus im using 1.7 roller rockers so I think I'll have to check it anyways. you should always check in my opinion.

Somebody has probably noted to set the cam timing marks before removing the gears. 👍🔔😁😎
Your videos are great, and motivating me to work on my dad's old car, thank you!
This is so freaking helpful. Best detailed 302 cam install. I'm doing this as we speak and your helping me alot!
Great video. I am in the process of swapping out the cam in my 93 fox and this helps so much. Respect!
Did you swap it ?
How'd it go? I'm planning it on my 89, was it difficult with block in the car?
Great video! Good mech tech keeping the lifters and pushrods organized. Thanks!
My Man Tony working on my ride, can't wait to hear that F303. Thank for everything Tony.
Luis Loya you got it man one day at a time!!!!
Yes Sir. Yunkyard Dogging!!!
did you get that supercharger at the junkyard also?
yes from a 1996 Buick Riviera
is there any mods that you need to do to it to install it? and how much did it cost you at the yard? i looked through your vids but meh i couldnt find much on it
Excellent information, it will help me a lot with my 302.. what is the torque on the rockers. I would appreciate
25 ftlbs
Great video no bs right down to business. And good camera angles.niiiiiiice
Nice easy install looking at putting one in a Mustang nice to see a video about it where they talk like a regular guy
Great video very informative thanks for sharing
Have you ever installed a a flat tappet cam on a fox? If so what was it and what length push rods did it need? Just thought I'd ask? I'm a novice.
I always thought swapping a cam would be more of a pain or you just make it look easy man lol
lol naw man it was just the editing haha
Engine is not in car.
thank you for not swaping LS CRAP onto mustangs
NEVER!!! Chevys have no place in a Mustang
EXACTLY!!!
Junkyard Doggs i mean....
If he did that it would be worth something
Did you re torque the rockers in 13726548 on the compression strokes
Really helpful video, thanks 👍🏼

thx man!
Push rod length with that F cam might need to be checked?
Cool vid man.
I was told that the heads gotta be pulled to do lifters on 302s. Guess not, which is good since I'm replacing mine on my Explorer.

aye bud could you do a comparison video on the explorer intake vs aftermarket? not sure if u have access to the equipment but meh itd be a nice vid
You forgot to put bolt in crank when pulling harmonic balancer. Good way to damage crankshaft.
Ahh good tip. Always learning.
🥸Weird buddy told me interwebs has OEM lifters cheap... low buck insurance for a happy fox

You always have to check with the playdoh method.

Should I be worried about the guy in the background with the bolt cutters lol
Hey man what kind of Engine stand do you use and brand of tools are good
Torque wrenches? Etc
With an E 303 cam what distributor gear should I use ? Block is a 94/95 roller.
Nice video, but do you have to pull the motor out
Calvin Thomas no you dont. You do need to angle the motor upwards by loosening the motor mounts, removing exhaust and remove trans mount.
Can new pushrods be used with the original stamped rockers as long as new lifters are used
THE KINGSMEN yes people do it all the time with no issues

Anderson N41
A 351 is better.
What cams can I install with a decent lope where I don’t have to remove the heads?
when you change over to the gt40 heads do u need to change over the pushrod at all ?
Wyatt Herrera no not necessarily but I would still check the length
Is that your little man in the background? Cool
Having problems getting the cam timing gear off. Any suggestions?
Heat it with propane and tap it with a rubber mallet

You can use the stock components up to .500 lift and more it gets weird. So no F303 cam, Anderson N71 or Trick Flow stage 2 or higher
Junkyard Doggs right thanks man! So e cam b would be safe..?
Techninally with any cam upgrade you should at least change the springs. But the rockers will be fine
I love you videos but were are part two's
Need to make a valve adjustment video
I got a question I've noticed some of the 94-98's some have dash clocks and some don't. Was their certain years that didn't have them
I think that has to do with the options that people chose when they first bought the car. Like a luxury upgrade along with other things or something
Yea I fought out the 98 models didn't come with the dash clocks, but yes your right about the upgrade
So can I run a B303 cam on my 95 mustang gt 302 stock heads and block just for sound
What about the valve springs did you do them also
Absolutely
@@JunkyardDoggs what vslve spring did you use and did you have get the seat machined
I wish someone could tell me why they use b303 or e303 or f303 ....
LIKE , WHAT ARE THE REASONS FOR THEIR CHOICES. ?????
Allen Traylor f303 keeps the valve open longer for superchargers or turbos thats why im using it
Junkyard Doggs
So if i were to use a nitrous kit , wich should i use ??
What is the highest lift camshaft you can go on a foxbody with GT40 heads what is the highest lift camshaft you can go on a 5.0 foxbody with GT40 heads stock bottom end
Do you have tips on deleting the heater tube assembly? Mine starting leaking everywhere recently

Do you make sure it’s too dead center before taking this apart?
👍🏽
What's your go to tool brand?
Craftsman - decent quality reasonable price and replacement is easy.
Milwaukee for power tools
Cool man i have a lot of craftsman stuff too. I just bought a 4 piece set of gearwrench 120xp ratchets their awesome try one out if you ever get a chance.
yo bro my 1998 Mustang GT can I put a 1998 Crown Victoria 4.6 in it will it work and also does it have the same internals as the 4.6 that is originally in there right now the original motor has 200 plus thousand miles on it and I can't find the original 1998 4.6 I want to use a Crown Victoria motor or what kind of motor can I put just plug and play????
