fusion core, keeps machine running for 200 years...keeps one suit of power armour going for 30 mins....umm
Shh...
Don't question it...
the suit probably uses more energy than an idle machine
Imagine how much power a suite of armor that keeps you invincible and let's you carry things as heavy as cars like they're nothing.
shottycast did a great vid on the science on it, and you cant carry over 500 pounds in PA even with calibrated shocks, a far cry from a weight of a car. TLDR the cores are almost dead by the time you find em
andrzej wysocki Yeah, if only the fusion cores at least lasted an hour or so the power armor wouldn't be a complete nuisance.
Btw, you can get a Fusion Core behind the Red Rocket Station (where you find Dogmeat) there's a small cave behind it, go in, there's only a few Mole Rats and a Fusion core in there :)
thanks
There is also a fusion core in the place where your first deathclaw comes out of.
I know right there's a nuclear reactor and a dead man
or just get insane luck. 4 fusion cores in a novice safe xD
7 tales nah just get scrounger, fusion cores are considered ammo so they are affected by the perk and you'll have a big chance of randomly finding them in ammo boxes.
I can remember laughing at friends who booked their vacation time around the release of Fallout 4. Now I'm stuck at work while my game sits at home. Lesson learned :(
+Wardner213 Filthy casual...;)
+Masked Hobo
Very filthy
Im at school and it fucking sucks
+Neinburgh !!!! sick yeah sure XD
mine even fuck up, my game store said delayed on shipping yeah. fuck them.
Don't leave your power armour equipped with a fusion core. A settler or provisioner will steal the suit.
+Peter Young --Heh, I've never had that happen but my follower did jump in mine one day.. also an enemy that turned hostile. Getting the later out is harder.
I lost a set once, and met a provisioner on the road wearing it several game days later!. he responded to the"I need you to get out..." bit.
I just finished the war with the Institute, and Preston Garvey turned up to fight in my favourite set!
I've lost two frames by settlers being stupid, but I think I have over 20 frames now so it's not a big deal for me.
I was in santuary and had a fully fueld suit of power armor and I left came back and the suit was like a mile away from where I left it with no power
This is why you keep you power armors behind a powered door with a switch.... since settlers and extra companions cant use them on their own... pretty much making a room set up to house and quickly launch you and your power armor out of your building straight into action is the best idea if you use power armor a lot
It would be great if they had implemented some recharge-system for fusion cores.
Or even just a way to transfer energy from one core to another so I don't have 15 cores all at random percentage bc I got a frame but only used it untill I got to a settlement.
I have a perk that gives me more ammo in crates, and I can find 4 fusion cores.
@Bentothebone * those where fusion CELLS
What perk?
@@Calv-tb1bxno, scounger gets you fusion cores as well.
At max scrounger perk I get 4 fusion cores in an ammo box.

Lol Nick be hunting for the Stranger.....he'll never catch him.
One thing that I love about fallout is when it gets some things right about survival which makes it so fun and interesting to play. The logic of bathrooms being a good place to raid was a good one for the same reason they stated, even thinking about it now that's something that I think many people would forget, especially if it was a real survival situation. Thanks for the vid :).
Real shame they npc can't keep from getting kidnapped so often
Wait, people moaned about the graphics of THIS game? What?
+Chris Sorreda people moan about graphics of Witcher 3, EVE online etc. You always find someone,
+Chris Sorreda Yea.. It has pretty good graphics but its not really up to par with newer games... But its still looks nice.. I think the last gen could have held those graphics...
+BrothaGoneBased Graphics yes, but last gen could NOT have handled the full game.
XenonSpark OH NO definitely it couldnt handle it... Im talking about graphics wise...
Too be completely fair, some facial animations are pretty crappy. But the game does look fine in general
#1 If you rank up perks that give you lower vendor prices, you can decrease the price of Fusion Cores by HALF.
#2 If you rank up your Nuclear Physicist perk you can extend the life of Fuion Cores by greater than 50%
#3 Getting the Repair Bobblehead gives you +10% on Fusion Core life.
#4 Smartest thing to do is collect junk, weak weapons and clothing to trade for Fusion Cores.
#5 Killing Sentry Bots gets you 2 fusion cores typically.
I have 33 Fusion Cores.
*****
Fusion Cores do not last very long when you use power armor. Maybe 30 minutes without sprinting. Getting the Perks doubles the time. Getting perks, repair bobblehead and managing them makes them last almost triple.
The hard part is remembering to pull them before they wear out so you can sell them for their high value.
Ammo in some do get more than 11,000 count,I sell them to even the trade and get caps back from buying.
Bigtruckseriesreview Motorsports --Whew, only thing I hate is when you max your perk on FusionCores, you're able to drop one like a Turd. I usually do this by mistake when I'm out of grenades or simply havent selected a new/other set. Waste of a FC really, as foes are normally far off. If it had a launch system, it'd be allot better, like a Mortar.
I have well over 60 cores. Mainly because I don't use power armor oops
+Chemically Romanced American Psycho/Idiot Who Didn't Close The Goddamn Door. Same here you don't really need it if you can upgrade your armor. I have a ton as well, and my suits are just sitting at the base, rarely need them

+BlueVeteran Gamewts Everyone's playing Fallout XD
Hunter Hagen he a good guy give him respect
well looks like Edna might get ditched in the new survival guide for Fallout 4
6 years later and still wondering how can a fusion core power a big robot for 200 years but not a power armor for 20 minutes
It's worth noting that the Fusion Cores in my game were heavily influenced by the Scrounger Perk. Once in Pickmans Gallery I found 5 Fusion Cores in a chest at the third level of Scrounger. So if you just invest in that skill, then adventure for a while without thinking about it too awful much, you'll end up with 50+ by the time you're level 40 like I did.
This is AWSOME please make this into a series until the next season of the storyteller
I just wanted to say that this channel does excellent work! You guys are the reason I love Fallout as much as I do!
Man I've been watching u forever.. Ur info and the way u do your vids are outstanding!! Thank u shoddy cast for all your hard work and dedication in lore and helpful hints.
Wait, Power Armor didn't run out of energy for 200 years in previous Fallout games and now they need multiple Fusion Cores over the course of the game ?
WTf Bethesda, at least the T60 shouldnt run out of fusion cores
revan21 by the time fo4 happens pretty much every fusion core out there is almost out of power
There’s n8 a difference between t60 and t45, the chassis/frame are all the same, it’s just different armor
@@fluffyunicorn3907 makes sense
You can get 3 fusion cores really quick if you walk north east from vault 111, until you find a robot dump. inside a small building is a computer which allows you to turn on a experimental robot then self destruct it. It will drop 2 fusion cores and there is 1 more in the crate beside it. There is also a hot rod paint job for power armor beside the computer.
Really? Awesome
Noice
+Antifis fat man on a car behind it
Use it first to clear the military outposts its programmed for though...
Loved the quick commentary and the bonus tips at the end also loved how it was made into a 2 min video and not dragged into a 10 min one
This is the most helpful video for fusion cores and a few very helpful tips in Fallout 4 I've ever seen. Thanks dude
For some reasons I just love tomlisten to the Storyteller talking about his travels! :)
Can the Storyteller's VA please consider doing a stream of Fallout 4?
+Cuddle Oraque Vacuo Viator As much as i love that idea too, im afraid that isnt too plausible :/
+NippelsoN The one and only why?
*****
That is also a good point but i based my impression more on the character than their business model.
I really liked your style of narration, and your level voice! I found this video by accident with a miss-click and you gained a sub.
Each of these tips are very useful. Thanks!
So power armor now has the equivalent of an ammunition cost for guns on top of normal repair costs? That seems reasonable. It was a little OP in previous games where the only real barrier to use was being someones lapdog until you could get "power armor training". In Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3 playthroughs, I usually had a suit at full repair ready to go, and stashed in a locker somewhere, long before I was able to actually use it.
+TheHelleri i remember the the op Anchorage DLC for fallout 3 when you completed it you would get a really op suit of power armor that never lost its condition
Gun Grave my fallout 3 game may be glitched because i still have the set of power armor with full condition after about 5 months of playing that game
+TheHelleri Yeah but now they are SO much OP, i have like 1900 damage resistance and i have only like 120 without power armor, and i have been using power armor for 2 days because i had like 65 fusion cores, and now i have 64 (i found more while playing), so in my opinion it's even more easy than in fallout 3 and NV
I survived TWO nukes from a fat man in survival, and i had like 50% of my health infected with radiation, i almost got killed (i had like 5% of hp) but still i mean what the fuck
+Bated Shooter Hence the fucking name "Power Armor". They don't call it that for nothin ya know.
Xzameron
It's called power armor because it is a powered suit of armor (necessary to move that much weight around). Being powerful in it is an effect of that but not the name sake.
Thank you story teller.
Thanks man, this helped me alot in the synth bit, i had no clue where to find them, now i do. Thanks again.
Thank you, I really needed this my fusion core ran out ages ago
"The mini nuke is the most rare ammo type in the common wealth" I have 45 of them in my inventory and almost always find them
So happy you use his voice for this. :D
Me to I was looking for someone to comment that 😄
Such a silky smooth voice.
+Pure Paradise I'm even happier!
If you invest in the scrounger perk.
It's rare but sometimes you will come across a container that has 4 or 6 FUSION CORES...
Thanks for making these tips videos guys. Sure I don't have Fallout 4 yet (I'm waiting for December when I plan to get a newer PC) but it'll definetly be nice to go into the game knowing this stuff.
Plus your Fallout stuff is always entertaining. So there's that too.
oh you gotta go and find more fusion cores when yours runs out I thought you could recharge it
+Efren Rivera Junior You can recharge. Just put them in one of the generators like in the hall of the museum and he will grow for 100% charged instantly www.gamefaqs.com/boards/164592-fallout-4/72808744
+Philippe Mello that does not work, the post is a fake - tried it ... does not work!
+Lars Doogle it does work idiot
+KXNG LEO It doesn't work, confirmed by loads of people.
+KXNG LEO No, it does not work. I tried it today.
love storyteller voice XD
Nice job!! Very well narrated
Thx for the help about the stempacts really helped a lot.
"Cannonball."
. . . I'm going to assume that's just a junk item and not actual ammunition.
+crazyinsane500 Junk Jet, pretty much any misc. item can be used as ammo. :P
+crazyinsane500 Weeell there is a gun called the Broadsider which is a handheld cannon from a ship...
+bajscast seems legit
+bajscast Maybe you get it through a quest from the Mayor of Good Neighbour? He seems like the type of guy to hang out on a ship :D
LuKazu
I found it a little while ago. It's on the USS Constitution - you do the quest on that and you can get it.
i just wish i could play.
why can't you?
Gameman installing things on this ''gary'' thing takes a long time, work, school, stuff.
and gary.
I wish I could play as well
Joegaming same.
+mediscout the medical scout of medicine hail solek
Congrats on 500k subs. You deserve it!
These videos are the best honestly
I don't think spoiling locations for fusion cores a "need to know"
+TarikProductions actually it is i drained mine in the beginning good to know where to find more now also need a new left leg and left arm for my power armor
+Martin Mercado u can just repair it?
MegaPointlessGuy honestly it was like night time i was sleepy and i had no idea what i was doing
Martin Mercado
:D
MegaPointlessGuy never fear i figured out how to mount power armor on the stand to repair
Anyone else think the storytellers voice is hot? No? Just me? Ok....
+JetSetDex You know, it does get pretty sweaty and stuffy inside that suit.
This is awesome :)
Thank You for this!
Very nice work, love the voice over.
I fucking lose this game.
Just keep trying, you will win eventually.
Kraig Bouchard
Fuck, I meant love, fuck, lol xD
+CptBomBom00 Sorry man I couldn't resist. I hate being corrected in the comments section. Now that I have played this game for a few days I can honestly say "I lose this game" sometimes 🤓
+CptBomBom00 You can "modify" your comment.
+CptBomBom00 You can "modify" your comment.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE the narrarator!!!keep using this!!!
I honestly thought that his voice was dialog from the game there at first. Well made video! SUBSCRIBED!
this narrators charisma must be 10 with all perks unlocked. I swear that voice is god like.
Woah video so short yet packed with info thought I watched a longer video thank you
Keep up the great job man 👍
Just NW of the Satellite Station there is the Robotic Disposal Ground. There you'll see an inactive robot, you can activate it inside the building then make it self destroy, you'll then find 2 fusion core in the remains.
This was really useful, thanks!
this is such a great series
This is a great idea keep doing it
Tip: Get The Scrounger perk, it lets you find more ammunition. But with that perk you can get 4 fusion cores commonly with just the fourth level of that perk
you have earned your self a subscriber my good sir lol good video man.
awesome vid shoddy
Near Fallon's department store, Milton General Hospital, and West Roxbury Station, there is a parking garage with a shitload of traps and puzzles in it. When you get through them all, there are 2 cages with flamethrowers and IEDs inside. The cage on the left holds 5 fusion cores, a mini nuke and 1 piece of leveled armor. *Choose wisely though, because the button right next to the door you want to open will detonate the IED in the opposite cage, destroying all items inside*
Dam i like that yo lol u answerd me question on where to find some n u helped me out on where to find goodies lol You got a New Sub My Dude! :D
Please keep doing these tip vids I love them
Pretty good stuff Shoddy.
this has helped so much thank you man I mean it
thank you so much! as a noob to the fallout series this helped me a ton!
A+ video, Very helpful thank you.
Haha, great vid! And great commentary!
thanks for the advice shoddycast this is why i like your videos your the best thanks
That was dope. Good video. Good video.
You guys are quick as hell!
Thanks for the tips !
This channel is just the best :D
Great tips. Thanks!
One of the best if not THE best narrative voice i have ever hear.....
I really like how they made the power armor feel more like an actual beast which needs to be refueled
Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it very much.
Great video!
hey shoddycast you should consider doing a let's play of fallout 4 or doing more tips and tricks videos that are similar to these. keep up the good work
beautiful narration
Thanks Storyteller! Hope I run into you out there in the wastes some day!
These tips are so helpfull!
GUYS YOU CAN RECHARGE FUSION CORES!!!
Just pop them out of the power armor when they get low so they don't disappear then go to the museum of freedom basement generator or any other and pop them in and you'll get them back at full charge.
Thanks for the help!
This was a good video, but I was looking for a video with tips on fusion cores such as making them last longer, or perks that affect them
Did not look to see if this was already posted but I found one in concord, in the basement section, the section where the Deathclaw comes out. It is at the end of the water on the left behind the hanging foliage.
Quick correction about the vertabird power armor spawn, it might have a fusion core. Power armor spawns like that are sometime randomized, i think its based on level and area, but you might not get a core, i didn't just a half set of armor, thanks for the other tips though
yes! I was out of power in my power armor so this is amazing
This helped a DANM lot...
That was really well said :)
Thank you, Storyteller, for these awesome tips.
this series is awesome
Is it just me or has his voice become almost iconic for anything involving Fallout and Shoddy Cast?
have not researched it, but what if you take the fusion core out of your armor when you exit it. then when you get back in, and reinsert another, whatever core inserted is at 100%. is a "fresh one" always pulled first or what? (say you have 10 in your inventory)
I can TELL the guy who voices the Storyteller just fucking loves this gig :D
A tip: When in power armor, if you can, take advantage of the terrain, falling a long distance will harm and stagger enemies, leaving them open to attack. Also, a Power Armor frame without any pieces on still gives you some extra carry weight, if you find one you can always use it to haul more stuff around, you will need a fusion core, but if you load yourself up, then enter the frame and fast travel straight away, you wont spend any power from the core. Oh, and most of the times, weapons and dead enemies with items besides their weapons in their inventories wont dissapear, if you cannt haul everything out of a location, you can take a couple trips to get all the loot, its a good way to make caps in the early game if you do the first couple BoS quests with the recon team at the police station, you'll go against a lot of Synths using institute weaponry, good loot early on, and they can be scrapped for some rare components later on with the Scrapper perk lvl 2.
Cheers, see you in the wastes.
Do you need to change fusion cores manually in power armor? my ran out while I was had cores in my inventory.
Thank you Storyteller ! Starting my adventure in the Commonwealth tomorrow :D
Omg,great video,thanks for the tips m8.
You have the voice of an angel annoucing movie trailers!
Here's a tip for you companion's can carry an endless amount of stuff, when it says they can carry no more simply grab there attention, then direct them to any item on the floor they will pick it up despite being overloaded with all your crap, if you ask them to loot a corpse, they will take 1 item at a time being the most valuable, the only problem with this tip is that it can get pretty tedious but if your playing vanilla version of fallout 4 and your the hoarding/pack-rat type then you should find this useful hope it helps you have fun.
if you get scrounger early on and use a melee or unarmed character you can sell all the extra ammo you find also having the lone wanderer perk gives +50 carry weight and 15% damage reduction at level 1 combine that with high endurance and toughness perk and you can shrug off a lot of damage early you can further augment this with ballistc weave midgame
Sweet man!!! Thanks story teller!!!!
If the Super Mutant Suicider is in a group of other Super Mutants you can also consider shooting the Mini Nuke to set it off on the spot. It's a nice way to clear out a group of enemies.
