I've lived through 15 Olympics. This is the first one where no one has any real interest so far as I can tell. It seemed a completely different world when back in 2000 we all lined the streets to watch the torch relay. It was truly exciting back then. But today I am even irritated by the emails from Stan that keep telling me about it.

That, combined with all the closures of streets for the Olympics and predictions that it would be so crowded you won't move, and people thought: hell no! Why go there and be cheated? 😅 I am pretty sure Paris isn’t capable of hosting the Olympics. They failed in their opening ceremony, not providing adequate facilities for the athletes. Then there are failures on equipment and facilities. This will go down as the worst Olympics ever!
Not a surprise, really. If anyone remembers the opening of the '92 Winter Olympics in Albertville, there were skaters leaping out of a giant ear-trumpet, so France has some previous in this. Having been to Paris in recent years, I can confirm that the streets are paved with dog-poo and cigarette-ends.

I worked in tourism for 21 years, its a toss up between french and chinese as to who were the worst
I always hoped all the negative things I have heard about France were exaggerations and it really was like I imagined it to be.
After living in both France and China, no contest as China is much, much, much worse.
I think now France has starting to have some edge over china on this.
