Fun Fact: This is the longest Doppelmayr Cable Liner setup in the world. They can actually go longer than this line, but they would have to have more stop overs due to the way the cable is setup. I have ridden this twice, and it does feel a little faster than in the video. There are a few advantages of this train setup being that you don't have to have motors in the train (motors are located in the stations), lighter weight vehicles, modular design (can easily add another module, for when ridership catches up), no power across the rack (no 3rd rail), fully automated, no switches or maintenance halls, no barriers and cheaper to run.
I am glad they built this to replace the AirBART bus service, but why can't they turn that shed every train stops at into a station? Every train stops there, so you might as well!

Looks like the media was thinking the same as you with first-time impressions! It would have been cool if someone interviewed you, free promotion!
Curious why there's no fence on the right in case of a derailment.
Daniel C The train doesn't go that fast and it's held to the track by a cable so the odds of a derailment are extremely low.
I see that blind man on BART sometimes when I go to work in the morning. Small world.
And channel 7 news is up there.
Feels very slow!
This thing really needs to move about twice as fast.

Doolittle will eventually be converted to a station, but not now.
Over. Half. a Billion. Dollars.
