I gotta say, I’ve had this card for a month now and run everything on max 1440p and it’s an amazing card. Never gets over 55°c because of how huge it is, and it is so quite. I am very happy with this card.

Mine runs at 70-71c at the 1920p and unlimited frames. Get around 290fps ish. But it finally got to around 77c and the fans kicked up and got louder after 3 hours of gaming scared me thought it was breaking lol

Here is an idea guys. We all become UA-cam reviewers as they seem to be the only ones that have access to them. Count the amount of reviewers out there it is ridiculous.
reviewers barely make any dent in the supply chain, these cards are in super high demand because everybody and their mother wants an upgrade, you wanna blame somebody, blame the sweaty 2080ti owners that camp sites so they can buy 5 only to brag about it

I have gtx 970 (6 years old card btw) and there is nothing worth buying now beside the 3060 ti, every other upgrade you can look is pretty terrible cost to performance wise

@@sbssmachine1 considering there was like a few thousand of the product at launch and for youtubers like Linus and jay to have multiple 3080s and 3090s a week after launch it makes sense to give them one of each but 2 or 3 of each card adds up especially since most youtubers received multiple is pretty stupid considering there were people out there willing to spend actual money to obtain one
They often get a review copy which has to be returned
the only reason it might make sense is if its actually in stock unlike the rest of the graphics cards these days

Dude, this card is here to make the TUF look cheap, even though is not MSRP for the 3060, but it is for the 3080. No one is buying it.
I remember a time when graphic cards are just slightly bigger than sound cards. Now, we have these giant, heavy behemoths that eat up three slots.

@@martinarscott3524 My first gpu was a Geforce 3. The latest model at the time was Geforce 4 but I couldn't find any stock and ATI was kicking Nvidia's behind. This brings back memories of learning about AGP and going to cybercafes every month to download graphic drivers.

The Strix card isn't power limited like the FE. You can push the power to 135% and get clock speeds of 2170mhz that are completely stable.

I was able to purchase this card 25% cheaper than any 3070 card I could find. Price for performance I thought it was a wise choice, considering I can spend the rest of the money saved toward the rest of the build.
I’m looking for one now I’m looking at this 3060ti and a gigabyte 3070 the price difference is only $20 but esthetic wise the 3060ti is way better and would go nice in my build this is my first pc

This is always the problem with Asus strix. It's priced way too high that it overlaps with the higher models.

Saw a good special for this exact card (I'm in Australia btw) because they are obviously trying to get rid of the stock of 30XX series cards as the 40XX series is releasing soon, going from a 2060 Super to the 3060Ti, not the biggest jump, but my 2060 Super has been struggling with newer games that don't have DLSS at 1440p and this card seems to hit 2080Super performance, so I'm sure I'll be happy with it paired with my R5 5600 :) (I just hope my Superflower 80+ Gold 650w PSU can handle it, did the PSU calculator on the ASUS site and it said 550w recommended for non OC and 650w for OC so should be fine!)

Just bought this card and picked it up today, I’m super lucky and grateful, the reason I picked it up was because of the price to performance, where I bought the lowest priced in stock card was 600 CAD I paid an extra 89 CAD for the 3 fans and to stick with the theme of my new PC I’m building, there was a 5% tax to make it in total 725 CAD, but if you don’t include the tax the extra 89 CAD was worth it for the cooler temps, performance, and overall look! If anyone has conversations to start I’d love to talk about it hmu:)

In Canada its actually the exact same price as a reference 3070. Unfortunately good luck ever getting a reference card because its only sold by bestbuy for some awful reason and they have zero anti bot/scalper measures in place.

I'll take the 3060 ti FE for $100 less and only suffer 5 less FPS with most games compared to the 3070.. The 3060 ti seems like the go to for this generation imo for 1080p and 1440p alike. Great review

I spent 2 months refreshing trying to get a 3070/3080 strix anad found a guy selling the 3060ti for $100 more. Didn't wanna go the scalper route but after wasting so much time watching notifications and drops, it was worth it. Life feels so much more peaceful

Second hand 3060Ti Strix OC Edition is now a mass murder in terms of price/performance ratio. On top of that, its power draw is super reasonable.
Top tier RTX 4000 series cards are overpriced beyond imagination. I hope that Nvidia regains sanity and releases 4060 and 4070 without crazy price tags.

@@ZachWackAttack And I doubt they will ever be in stock. If Nvidia plans to drop 4060 and 4070 in January 2023, it would have been stupid for retailers to even try restocking 3060 and 3070 line-ups. Of course, that depends on low/mid-range RTX 4000 series pricing.
If these cards are disproportionally expensive, and it's likely, then restocking 3060 and 3070 would have made sense.
However, I'm expecting Nvidia to kill the supply of older chips, so they can push 4060 and 4070 down our throats, regardless of the pricing.
One might say that AMD cards are a pretty decent alternative... Maybe, if they were available... Even second hand.
At this point, it's easier to find good value second hand RTX 2000 and 3000-series cards, like 2080Ti and 3060Ti, sometimes even 3070Ti, than anything else.
On a side note, I haven't bought a single brand-new graphics card since 2015. Every single one that went through my PC case within past 8 years period was used.
I like when other people take depreciation on their shoulders. I also like when they desperately sell stuff for much less than the actual market value.
It takes time and patience, but it's a cost-effective method.
One thing I don't like about the design, is the fact that the 2 8-pin connectors have a large gap to the left of them. It's as if they either planned for a third connector or just reused the same boards from 3090 down and just didn't use that space for an extra port. It just has a large gap that makes it appear unfinished or uneven, while the entire card is practically symmetrical.

Getting harder and harder to tell which cards actually make the most sense for 1440p high-refresh gaming. In some cases there’s huge gaps between 3060ti->3070->3080 and in others there’s almost no difference...

@@nimamesbah9406 That's not true man. You can easily play 1440p with a 3060ti, obviously the performance won't be as good as 3070+, but you can still get high FPS around 60 in most games easily.

@@nimamesbah9406 The point of the 3080 is obvious. Think about it, and ask yourself why it has a far wider market share than the 3090. For many, the cost of a 3090 is prohibitive, while the 3080 is less so, and has good 4K performance.

Not ideal with ampere tbh as the heat is very close to the CPU, but for lower TDP GPUS its ace!

@@Fuchsiaelli I'd recommend it but that's as a Noctua NH-D15 owner. CPU air coolers are just too damn big (especially the "good" ones). You'll have issues with RAM clearance, you can't reach the PCIe slot release to remove the graphics card unless you remove a fan (usually) etc. If you already have a cooler use whatever, but if you're considering a new purchase I'd go AIO every time.
I bought the Noctua because I thought it might be quieter since there's no pump, but nope. The noise was still from the fans, not the pump, and I had to set a custom fan curve to basically make the fans not spin up until 60 C (since my Ryzen 3900X will sometimes have one core cycle up to 56C for a fraction of a second before it drops back down to 35-40C, and that makes the fans go crazy).
@TheKnownOne not really, only a 360mm premium aio can 'significantly' beat (only like 5-10c max cooler) a premium air cooler while a 280mm barely beats it. Definitely not worth it considering a 360mm aio are easily $150 and the dark rock pro 4 was $70 and can easily cool even an OCd 10900k. Plus not many cases can fit a 360mm rad while an air cooler is much more universal and are much less complicated with little points of failure. Ram clearance isn't really an issue either, you can move the fan up and it fits easily assuming your sticks aren't massive

Here in Japan the 3070 Strix sells for almost the same price as a 3080. They may be nice cards but are terrible value when priced so close to the higher tier cards.

In India, 30 series is not even available, That being said aorus has them but like the 3070 is at $1100 xD and my friend in Africa says that 30 series is not even there for scalpers but a every 60 secs a minute passes
I’m happy with my good old 2080ti. I keep my refresh rate locked at 140 with my 144hz monitor so with that and a 9900k it’s running pretty good

Love how all these youtubers get these cards to review despite the fact that they are barely available, which adds to them being unavailable. They do the review then the card sits on the shelf.
Actually a lot of the time they have to send them back, but in some cases they do get to keep them. But like I said most of the time it's just a test run and a show off of the product then they have to send it back.

im buying the asus rog strix 3060ti instead of a founder's edition because:
- fe's are hard to get for msrp (atleast for me)
- 3070's are being sold for more than the strix 3060ti
- the strix just has cool collectors items

The higher end AIB's generally have a larger profit margin, and since silicon is limited they really have no reason not to only make high end models as they will sell regardless, I agree with the clock speed though, it's really not special, not bad either, cards not a dud but it's more on the expected end of a average card. It all comes down to silicon lottery though, many years back I bought a 980ti, those cards where known to overclock 250-350mhzs over spec if not higher. Just really good headroom, and mine was a below average (a EVGA Classified model) and only hit 1367 while being a higher end model itself, still over spec but below the average. My friend who bought a cheaper Gigabyte model was lucky and his overclocked to 1570 lol
That's like an amazing overclock for those cards even water cooled and he had an air cooler, my new 3060ti FE can match this cards clock and go slightly higher, and I don't consider mine special by any means. Kinda sad I guess, it wasn't uncommon to get 15-20% extra performance overclocking back 6-7 years ago.

Thermal is like oil for an engine. This is the reason I bought this card, it’s built to last.

@@JGAbstract My 2 cents - I have been using Strix cards since GTX 960. My OG Strix GTX 960 is still in one of my PCs, used daily by family members.
It's been almost 8 years now since its release date. No issues whatsoever.
I'm not sure how other users feel about it, but from my perspective, Strix cards just last.

I have a 3060 ti tuf oc (triple fan) and I live in north-east Brazil and the extra cooling is really worth it since 30ºc or more is sort of normal around here. Also the price was not that different from a dual fan model and way cheaper than a 3070.

I just undervolted (and overclocked memory) on my 3070FE and it only runs at 65c whilst beating it's stock 3Dmark benchmarks by ~2%. I don't think the 3070 is very good value in comparison to the 3060ti, but the 3070FE was certainly better value than this Strix.
18 month's later: 3060ti prices still between $600,- and $ 800,-. RTX 4000 series will sell at a $ 50,- to $ 250,- premium over their 3000 series predeseccors with identical specs. And worst: when 4000 series come, resellers will make sure that not one 3000 series will be left as a 'low price left over'
OMG. I can't fit 4 sticks of RAM in my PC because of Dark Rock 4... never thought that I can put fan in back of radiator.... THANKS DUDE!! :D

As I'm typing this ASUS 3060 Ti Strix is the same price as the Gigabyte 3070 Gaming OC here. They both have ridiculous prices of course. The Strix is cooler and quieter, and the performance difference isn't huge, but the Gaming OC also runs cool and quiet enough so the Strix doesn't make much sense unless you absolutely want the coolest and the most quiet Ampere GPU on the market.
Have had this for 6 months. I game @ 1080p and it cost £650 GBP. Terrible rip-off but what can you do with the current market?

2023 here, I got this card second hand (barely used with the sticker peel still on it with box and all) for around 293 $, I went to install it in my pc and the case wasn't big enough but why would I just get a new case nooo I went to wiggle it in there and eventually after 30 mins of blood sweat and tears i finally installed it just to find out I scratched my mobo and took off a few components of it and my pc wouldn't boot at all not even any mobo leds 🤡, I have been building pcs for 3+ years and I still managed to brick a board with a silly mistake like this, moral of the story is check your case dimensions before you get a behemoth of a card like this.
Ps. I fixed the board by replacing the missing components. So another moral is try to fix you mobo before buying a new one right away

I have a 3070 FE Love it! It was smaller than my 2080 Super I replaced. This 3060 Ti is an L. But at this point you pretty much buy what you can find I guess Win or Lose 🤷♂️
First person I have seen who has upgraded from a 2080s to a 3070. How much performance uplift did you get? Was it really worth it for you or could you not get hold of a 3080?
@@MWalsh1992 I'm probably one of the few people you heard who has 1 that paid the retail price for it lol. I definitely see a difference in performance. It's not like night & day but I get almost 200 fps on high settings not OC. I got it because they were impossible to get and it was a Founders Addition. I love the aesthetics of the card. I heard the 3080FE ran little hot, I would of had to upgrade my power supply and It was just overkill for me.

Same performance, but with massively increased heatsink and fans, I dare say it's a lot quieter under load.
