I felt the same when I heard it. It took a while to recover. No one sounds remotely like them. They’re incredible 🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥

You’ve heard the expression “stream of consciousness” - this is a “stream of Jinjerness”.

based on this and Vortex they seem committed to the no-repetition song structure. I think this is Vlad's influence. His first Jinjer composition (Ape) is like that.

    Psychedelic death metal: Love it!
I love the energy and complexity of Mediator, but I especially love Tatiana's lyrics!
"Wish I could catch god by the beard
And drag him to the dirty streets
To show him what was going on
The kind of curse we've waged upon"
Rightfully angry at the state of the world and those who brought us to this point (the gods if you believe in any, otherwise the capitalist ruling class).
Thank you always, Thomas, for bringing more Jinjer to more people! ❤🤘

That's true, I often overlook the lyrics because the music is so crazy. Thanks for watching! 😄🤘

I usually only get a few lines on first listen and look up the lyrics after another listen or so. Not meant as a critique at all, I just like to draw attention to Tatiana's great lyrics!

As a guitar player, that feeling you described when confronting something new and difficult is something I've felt so many times (many when it comes to Jinjer!) in my life I can't even comprehend! LoL

Jinjer: A rabid dog off the chain, dangerous. A jazz trio flexing impossible step by step phrasing to keep you guessing. A dizzying riff changing tempo changing fury of Metal with a versatile introvert singer blooming before our eyes. You're not alone trying to even relate or understand a composition meant to confuse even the must adept. Built by design. Can they just remember, there needs to be a relatable song underneath their genius?

"I'm still picking up the pieces of my brain..." brilliantly stated. I have tix for them in October. I hope it doesn't get postponed cause of the Delta variant.

Re the Delta variant endangering the fall/winter Jinjer concerts, I'm wondering the same thing. I sure hope not; I've got tickets for them in Atlanta. Fingers crossed.

The beginning of this is a cast iron skillet swung thru yer face! LOL
    \m/ (-_-) \m/
Clever of them imho, to contrast the smooth groove start of Vortex, giving this as the other single leading into the album release, to show the range of what they're up to these days. Cannot wait for this album. :)

Thomas, you were almost panting by the end of the song! I like the "psychedelic death metal" description. This song is incredibly technical, with one musical idea cascading into the next, with scarcely a pause to breathe.

Another great reaction Thomas. This song particularly the last half reminded me of Scissors or Sit, Stay, Roll Over with that grunge factor. Really love that about Jinjer that they always give you something new and unexpected yet something familiar.
I’d have watched this video sooner but was traveling. I guess better late than never lol. Cheers Thomas. See you soon!

Pausing a Jinjer song? Whenever you can build up the courage to hit the spacebar?
How to headbang to this? ... sorry, this is a body-banger, more made for spinning back-kicks and highspeed jab-blocking techniques.
No.Way.In.Hell I'm going anywhere NEAR the Pit when this song plays.
.... but I bet I can get some business by putting the pieces back together (dentist here).
If you are thinking abou de-constructing/learning this song, remember, 10 outta 11 tracks (or some such) where written by Vlad, who I understand trained in piano... think keyboards, not strings. It's a string of diminished chords, I think... hey, I'm probably wrong.
Take Care Thomas. Have Fun, Be Safe.
