- After 6 weeks backpacking through Laos we have arrived at our last stop: The 4000 Islands!
Funny, because Laos is the only country in Southeast Asia without access to the sea. But that doesn't mean that there aren't any islands :) In the far south of the country are the so-called 4000 Islands, a group of islands in the middle of the mighty Mekong. You shouldn't miss this stop on your backpacking trip through Laos, because it's one of the chillest places in Asia and has a very special charm and character:

@@Better.Beyond Danke euch! Der Norden hat mir bisher sehr gut gefallen. Nong Khiaw war ein Highlight und Trekking in Luang Namtha ebenfalls.
Jetzt bin ich grade in Vang Vieng uns gleich geht's spontan zum Rock Climbing. Ich dachte mir, wenn Helen das mit Höhenangst geschafft hat, traue ich mich das jetzt einfach auch 🫡

"Erstmal Dröhnchen starten" 😂 Ihr seid so cute und liefert dann diese phantastischen Aufnahmen einer unberührten und ungezähmten Mekong-Landschaft! Das mit den arbeitenden Kindern und dem zugemüllten Strand ist aber eher kritisch zu sehen 😶 Laos hat offenbar viele verschiedene Seiten ... und wer weiß schon, wie es den Menschen dort wirklich geht 😐

Und ja, Kinderarbeit haben wir leider oft gesehen und auch wenn die Menschen auf uns immer glücklich wirkten, leben viele natürlich in sehr armen Verhältnissen und man kann nicht hinter die Kulissen gucken..
Einmal mehr... die Drohne bringts. Einmalig diese Landschaft, kein Wunder, dass euch Laos so begeistert.
