Next time, when you have a storm coming in, it would be pretty neat if you would put a camera that has battery power and a light that has battery power on some of your plants during the storm with a timer on it to see how fast they're growing per hour!

watched my dad grow sweet potatoes slips for years. but I had some events that stopped me from getting started so I have taken a short cut. using a jar and sweet potato to start my slips. they are coming along well considering the short cut. scene my daughter has been thur cancer treatments her whole body had changed. she not able to eat what she used to because it changed the taste, effect and tolerance of foods. she never liked sweet potatoes and now it's because one of her favorite foods. so the sweet potatoes crop has enlarge this year. And she used to love sweet peas and can't handle them now. folks it a cruel disease and so many people are suffering from it and the after effects. blessings to everyone 🙏

Sweet potatoes are good for cancer. Just don't add sugar to them. Sugar and cancer is a no no. Cancer cannot grow in an oxygenated body or an alkaline body. Cancer loves acid.

I have several black tubs like the one you showed with slips growing in. A few years ago, I drilled holes around the side about halfway down. I "slip" the slips into the holes as I fill it, then grow flowers or a pepper etc in the top. Works out pretty well for me.

I have never planted Sweet Potato's and just ordered my 1st slips at local Farm Store . WOW if I would of watched this 1st I would of known what to do. They asked me red, orange or white I said just the sweetest and they said orange . I wish I would of been able to order some of each variety , oh welI I am trying . LOL Years ago my sister made a casserole with all kinds of stuff on it and I didn't like them . A friend of ours gave us a Sweet Potato Souffle and it was really delicious I liked it but our daughter didn't and just eats Sweet Potatoes with butter on them. So since the food issues I decided to plant them and to watch and hear the benefits that Mr Danny spoke of amazes me. I hope you can HOT WATER BATH CAN them if mine grows . LOL OH and I LOVE the FORK STICK Mr Danny needs to market & sell them !!!!! It is very hard on someone with a bad back & bad knees so I have to sit on my behind and scoot , my husband calls me his ""SCOOTER PIE "" LOL LOL

I never heard about the impact of an electrical storm on plants like that. Looks like I have some homework to do. As for up-potting seed starts - or even just a good way to ensure a “clean” removal from seed trays - two things to remember that have worked for us here; first, pack you seed-starter mix in so that it’s not too loose but not so much that it’s too dense for seeds to germinate. Second, don’t try to remove them when the starter mix is too damp. Let them dry a bit. When you push them out from the tray you’ll find they don’t break apart like they would if the soil was loose and damp. Thank you for all you do.

Ty for sharing your experience with growing you own food and homesteading. These new tornadoes in the storms are new for some of us. This weather and wind has been crazy!! 🙏 😷🥔🌱May God protect his people Mr. Danny and Mrs. Wanda and their family. Lord we need your healing in Jesus Christ name is Lord Christ! I start my slip’s indoor then transplant them out like Mr. Danny. Maybe the plant’s are responding to that CME? Those are some giant slip’s! Got our first green stalk using your code ima start some slips in it! That’s a great idea, bc I wldnt have thought about that! I love that the books are ion paper, and signed going to get me some thx. Support small business Id pay to download those videos keep a paper copy and a digital copy!

Looks like I won't be able to get more seeds in ground till temps come up the 10th. Going to put a couple more lettuce rows in this week. I grow lettuce as soon as grass starts growing. Plant 2 rows every 2 weeks. Last 2 plantings in May are summer lettuce. Just a 4x12 hugelkulture raised bed. My summer lettuce goes on north side of the mound for more shade. I plant the cold weather lettuce at top and work my way down south face. I have to go put a dock in today. At least the water is warmer than the ground and air. Warmer water still on bottom. The lakes still haven't turned. Meaning warmer water on top.

We live in the far far Northern part of California! Triple digit temps! I just learned about electro culture and I am so excited to try that out! We get a ton of rain in the winter time and almost no rain in the summer. I took some cuttings from a sweet potato vine and a red potato vine and stuck them in water. I now have roots and I’m thinking I can put these Back into my raised garden bed. Is that right? I should grow okra. Nobody talks about okra out here. We sure did eat a lot of it in Texas!😊

Yes you can use the ones from the store as long as they're organic. The other's have been sprayed.

Im glad you made it through the storm unscathed. That lightening was incredible. Every flash I saw was saying “Nitrogen, Nitrogen, Nitrogen!!!”. Last year I tried the dirt method but only got one leg on each sweet potato sticking up with no leaves on it, just like if I had left it in the closet. Do daylight hours have anything to do with it? They were in my seed starting room but I think I quit turning the grow lights on at the end of April because everything else was transplanted out and the room is bright but it’s indirect light. We don’t plant sweet potatoes until the first week of June.

We got nearly 3” of rain from the low pressure system from 3/29-3/31. We don’t see rain like that except when hurricanes strike LA or AL or E TX

Everyone pay attention. Watch these folks and grow some of your own food. Who knows what may not be at the grocery store next week. I've never seen anything like what we are living through now.

Danny and Wanda, I have noticed that many channels that used to keep rabbits no longer do even though many talk about the benefits of rabbit poop for the garden. Is there a reason why everyone is no longer keeping them?
