- The time has come for a new challenger to stir the competition in affordable yet really well-detailed figures on Batman properties, because they weren't alot of them already. However, newcomer Fondjoy may have cracked the code in how to tick every box for the ultimate Batfleck figure at a reasonable scale and price.

McFarlane should hire the guy that made that head sculpt
They shouldve rehired/ reused the justice league sculpt. They’re already capable of making great head sculpts. Who knows why they don’t sometimes

It's licensing issues. Mezco has the problem too doing the unmasked Ben Affleck head since the licensing for using actors is a difficult thing especially when the license is expired or expensive to do. Even Hot Toys haves it since they used Ben's stunt double to do the mouths for the Armored BvS Batman as well the Flash movie Batman. So it's not entirely on Mcfarlane's fault but the proportions can be better on the Mcfarlane BvS Batman since he's too skinny in areas that need to be bulky especially his neck being too long and skinny versus how it is with the source material where Ben had a thick neck for his cowl
Mcfarlane knows what's up. His mindset is to sell as much as possible. If he makes a "definitive" version of batman or superman right away, his sales would be low for upcoming versions. So what he does is he purposely making figures that suck then release a better one later then much better and so on. Just like what Marvel Legends is doing.
These two lines are actually there on the BVS Batman symbol. You can see them on the BVS suit in the movie in a close up shot. My Hot Toys and Mezco BVS Batman figures also have them. It's just that they are supposed to be much fainter and of course there should be scratches on the symbol.
Yeah, I was about to mention this because those lines are on the emblem in both cases. It's interesting that he didn't do research on that
To be fair I have LOVED BvS for the past 8 years and even I thought it was wrong and never noticed them. They're so faint but if you study the stills and are looking for them you see them @@NoroMoroBoroSoro

Actually the lines on the abdomen are there in the movie, but the lines on the emblem absolutely are not on the bvs suit, look on Google not one single photo has the lines on the emblem

And here in the Philippines mcfarlane bvs and fondjoy bvs has the same price. That's why bvs mcfarlane is beginning to be a peg warmer.
Like you said, the neck needs about 2 mm raised, but that head also needs to be shrunken down 7%. Otherwise, many great features.
But Affleck has a short neck, that's why his Batman looks like he's shrugging all the time.
To sum it up, Fondjoy's case with DC is similar to that of ZD Toys with Marvel.
ZD Toys started off making unlicensed 7 inch figures for the Captain America: Civil War film. Then come Avengers: Endgame, they somehow got the official Disney license to produce figures for that film (the catch being that they can only produce those in China to keep Disney's end of the bargain with Hasbro Marvel Legends and their retail presence). ZD Toys is also currently still producing MCU Iron Man figures at the 7 inch scale for a Hall of Armor collection.
Same case here with Fondjoy. They started off making unlicensed 7 inch figures, and from what I've seen so far... This BVS Batman figure is the first one that has the official license stamp on it. Of course, Fondjoy can only sell these figures in China so as to not be in "hot water" with McFarlane Toys' retail presence.

The two lines are in bvs too. Even the iron studios bvs has that two lines in the chest. Look at the picture of the suit of bvs really close you'll see two lines the only difference of it is that the fondjoy does not have scratches.
I got my deluxe here in asia for 30usd converted from my currency, a figure like that for that much is absolutely nuts. A mcfarlane costs just as much here as the fondjoy. Cant beat that for the price.

AFAIK Fondjoy has always had the DC licensing, all their figures have the legal and hologram but yeah, they're not well known back then
Also, I read somewhere that for the Joker, Superman and possibly TDK Batman they somewhat used Sh Figuarts models as a base (the Joker specially looks a lot like the SHF one down to the faces)
I saw other reviewers actually say his likeness is too cartoony. Which I disagree with. Hopefully the company goes back and retools their previous figures now that they have the DC license. I would definitely buy more of their figures. Great review.
Fondjoy is really smart
They might not have the licence for a Ben Affleck's unmasked face sculpt. So to overcome that, they didn't give the unmasked head in the box.
But they made one and one can buy it separately.

Here in India this figure with the unmasked headsculpt is almost the same price as the mcf

The 2 line are supposed to be there mezco and iron studios have that lines.
Licensing problems with the 1/4 scale neca batman is the reason i think the headsculpt came out the way it did. I remember most people hated that headsculpt but now thats probably what happened more than likely was Licensing issues.
looks so much better than the Mc-Kenner version especially that headsculpt - they could learn how to sculpt a figure with proper head and leg size unlike their Gundam body proportion- cool review

I’m loving this figure. They absolutely knocked it out of the park. Take notes McFarlane. The shoulder bulkiness is perfect. The unmasked Batfleck is perfection.
You're wrong about the lines on the symbol...
I bought this guy and the Aquaman and this BvS Batman is pretty much where all the time went into for the unmasked head because the Aquaman looks swollen and kind of flat at the same time
The FondJoy Harley Quinn figure is pretty good. I didn't see that mentioned in the video. She's huge though.
There is no inaccuracy in the sculpt. With that said, I hope the durability is good, the may fix one was literally garbage, I had the superman from that movie and it literally broke at the elbow, and I wasn’t even touching it. The McFarlane one was a surprise, and good, but I comparison this one looks far superior
8:42 i kid you not for the very first time EVER and i mean ever i noticed that those lines are in fact on the bvs suit. I love BvS and also thought they got the lines wrong but i paused it and looked and they're there, they're just not nearly as prominent as the figure or JL suit.

Nice haul. I just managed to snag one myself online today for the deluxe version. Because after seeing all the reviews of the unmasked Affleck headsculpt, it's not the super greatest, but it's one of the best looking Batfleck sculpts for this small scale. So, the pleather cape is removable right, due to the interchangeable head's design. The neck is slotted through the cape hole to hold it place, right? Thanks.
Technically, the cape is removable. You can place either head back one without the cape underneath.

I can't help but feel the masked head looks a bit off, he looks like a neanderthal as oppose to the unmasked head, which looks compeltely fine
The masked head is way better than Mcfarlane. Bvs mcfarlane Batman’s head looks cartoonish it doesn’t look like ben affleck. The only mcfarlane ben affleck batman that’s good is batman from zsjl line.

Figure looks dope and I'm gonna have to see on picking him up for that reason alone. Also i think the "thumbs up" hand is a call back from the Batman the animated series where Batman does a thumbs up but is used as a reaction gif meme in comments online lol which i think its a smart thing to include just to play on the Batman animated series especially how serious Ben's Batman is
Haven't watched the whole vid yet, so Idunno if you'll go onto mention it, but while it looks cool, right off the bat aspects about it look suspiciously similar to how Mafex sculpts their figures. Particularly the way the arms are designed, and the legs look pretty familiar too. It might just be coincidence or maybe a bit of inspiration, it's just when I look at it, there's an eerie resemblance to Mafex that I can't help but notice.
EDIT: Seems you did also notice something about it that feels a bit Mafexy lol.
Look closer those line are on the BvS suit.
fondjoy is so underrated... their batman is actually amazing. currently got their batman dark knight trilogy batbale. worth it with extra diorama
Sculpt, paint, and accessories are on point. They just need to improve their articulation and if they do, they’ll truly be a mcfarlane/ mafex killer.

Got this guy for like 30 bucks from a chinese seller, an absolute masterpiece in my opinion and i HATED the dceu movies. Btw, there is also a company similar to fondjoy called zd toys, they're an older company with way more figures, ive known abt the company for years now and i was quite surprised that these guys are a different company. If you know abt zd toys, you would find how similar the packaging is with both the zd toys iron man figures and this fondjoy bvs batman, somehow, some way, the fondjoy is most probably related to zd toys
fondjoy's the dark knight is pretty decent if you can overlook the headsculpt
I agree with you for the most part, except when you said that the lines going down each wing of the bat symbol aren’t supposed to be there 8:25 . They should be there, but they should be not so obviously carved in. In the actual BvS batsuit they are there, but its very subtle and sunken in as opposed to the JL version where the lines on the batlogo were raised to distinguish it from the burlap texture which i kinda dont like i liked it more subtle like the BvS logo and easy to miss on the BvS version unless you look at a close up image. I think its nice attention to detail, but possibly a little overdone when it came to execution. Same could be said about the line in the ab area.

Edit: the one that comes with the ben affleck head is the one I bought but now it's randomly up for pre-order? I'm not sure why but if you want the unmasked head go with the pre-order and cross your fingers that it is a mistake and they ship it as soon as possible.

Mcfarlane body is too thin. Too shiny the head of mcfarlane is too ugly.
I mean, the mcfarlane one looks as if was Bruce one year in of being Batman, yea you can shorten the head peg, but then it's way to small for Batfleck, the accesories fell like they were destined for a bassic figure, it's overall disappointing just seing the other Batflecks mcfarlane has done before
I didn't Beast Kingdom was FondJoy and i can say their figures I was surprised by. I have their Dark knight and Justice League Batman, dark knight isn't too bad, I'm quite happy with it, I had a chance to get joker and superman but they looked awful especially joker's face.

I would say the Mafex Justice League Batman regular and tactical suit beat out this figure.
After that awfull Joker, and the ok-ish first Superman, fondjoy have knocked out of the park with the Batfleck and the 2.0 version of Superman, the likeness of both, Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, even for that scale was perfect. They also dropped one Aquaman for the new movie who, may not look like Jason Momoa, but shows a great improvement since they first releases. I hope that their Armored Batfleck and the Battinson stay with this same quality
The worst thing would be that it is not 1/9. I received this Batman a week ago. It feels so cheap from head to toe. I bought it on AliExpress for £20. The best thing is Ben's head. The hands are very small. The body has no mobility at all. I put it back in the box and I'm sure it ends up to a custom sadly. :(

I have a criticism but don’t take it as an insult. You’re wayyyy too obsessed with every little visual detail. I had to skip through quite a bit. For example I would never nitpick the symbol and research to see if it’s correct, as long as it looks like battfleck in my memory/ minds eye. But that’s just my opinion, some people like that sort of thing. It comes down to personality type, I think. Appreciate you making the video regardless.
The proportion is Off, looks short, chest not bulky enough, Head to Big, Neck and Legs too short.....

on my opinion to much money for a figure that isnt that well made
So I figured out that the best way to make the mcf look correct is to use the head pin from General ZOD. The fond joy is a def get. But it’s too big. The head is too big. It’s not noticeable until you place it next to the mcfarlane. Mcfarlane is better. With the neck mod. I’d say the next is the fond joy. The mafex is shit next to bot. Def getting the fond joy but (for me) I just keep going back to mcfarlane.
