You are and were my favourite comedian of the 1980s . I was only five or six when I first remember watching the show on ITV. Ty for the laughs 😌ohhh I could crush a grape. Rock on Tommy.
Bobby died a Christian. They didn't talk to each other for years after a fall out they had. Bobby said he sat down with a Pastor one day and though Bobby said he had what he called a very serious conversation with the pastor as Bobby was an Atheist and admitted he never prayed in his life. Anyway Bobby said he was struck by the meeting he had and with the Pastors calmness and it affected him deeply, he went back to the Pastor and he said it was a very life changing experience, he said it was instant and he prayed with the Pastor. Bobby remained a Christian and it made him get back in contact with Tommy Cannon and they reconciled their friendship. Through that reconciliation Tommy himself became a Christian and both he and Bobby got very involved in Christian talks and meetings etc. So Bobby please God is at rest in Heaven and I'm sure now he'll be waiting for his great pal Tommy to be reconciled once again forever. So it's amazing where one chance meeting with a pastor made Bobby and Tommy besties again. It would have been unimaginable if both had gone to their graves enemies .
I met Bobby Ball once at Pendlebury Evangelical church. He was giving his testimony of when he became a Christian and he signed a copy of his book for me.
Fantastic show. A real pleasure to have met you bobby. You & tommy should have been knighted for your talent to showbiz. A pleasure to have called you a friend. Rest in peace sir.
You made me laugh then you have made me cry, laugh, cry, laugh over this morning thinking of the great tv we had in this country with 4 channels(C4 came in 83 ). You have this morning made think of my dearest mother who would sit there in her chair tears streaming down her face gasping for breath. I spent a lot of time with me mum as I was brought up by her when my father passed away in 69. I was 4 at the time and we would spend many a happy time watching shows like this. Her absolute favourites were morecambe and wise, she once said that these two C&B were as good as M&W,that was praise indeed from her. God I miss her terribly she passed away in 86 after a hard life. These remind me of her so much. Thank you for the tears, laughter and great memories mr Ball. Deepest condolences to your family and Tommy his partner. Goodnight god bless sleep tight and get a show going in heaven
Absolutely Fucking Brilliant and Hilarious. Brings Back Sooooo Many Memories of my Childhood and growing up, watching Not only Cannon & Ball, but also the late & Great Rik Mayall and the rest of the guys in The Young Ones too :)
"still rocking on Tommy"..with your legendary shows..top notch..nothing like this these days..rest in peace..Bobby..never forgotten..kid of the 80s... :-)
1980s talent and entertainment. TV nostalgia. Beautiful guys and ladies all of them. Tom, Bobby and Rik. Legends. Little and Large, Jeremy Beadle. TV was full of spirit.
This shows how good Bobby was. Usually Rik overtook everyone in a scene, but Bobby more than held his own. Not a strange pairing. Both had a similar energy.
@@ClassicWorld19 There was a mutual respect between Cannon and Ball and Rik. Also Chubby Brown paid tribute to Rik when he died calling him a fantastic comic talent
Huge sadness to hear of Bobby's passing, but what a great legacy of laughter and joy to remember him by! Condolences to Tommy and his family. God bless 🌹 xxx
RIP,Ya little legend,i wonder if we will have a re-run of the Cannon & Ball shows from the mid 80s,hilarious anyone reading this, please youtube Cannon and Ball old macdonalds farm sketch, absolutely BRILLIANT.
19.00 love the 80s adverts. Flake Bran Flakes. Remington. Lucozade (iron maiden phantom of the opera) So unforgettable. Renault 11 in London.. a snapshot
How delighted I was to learn that yesterday when he passed away. I’ll meet him one day, guaranteed! Also found out that Tommy is ‘saved’ as well, so we can enjoy the Cannon & Ball show for eternity as well. 😇
I remember first seeing this advert when I was young. I'd never heard Iron Maiden before and song got me hooked....... And 40 years later I'm still a fan
What an astonishingly, almost random selection of material and guests lol Material by Sid Green, half of the Sid and Dick team who wrote the original Morecambe and Wise material. Some of this was recycled. I am sure I recognise the ballroom dancing sketch. And Rik Mayall? Why not. lol And Geoff Atkinson wrote the famed Hitler sitcom "Heil Honey! I'm Home!" What could possibly go wrong? RIP Bobby - Rock on.
Oh wow, that Flake ad - you know it's 2020 and still to this day sometimes I'll randomly break out into a rendition of that rock-power-ballad version of the cadbury flake song - but I don't think I've actually heard the original source since the 80s - until now.
A 40 minute programme with only a 2 minute ad break? What strangeness is this??? Nowadays there would have to be at least three 7 minute long ad breaks leaving only 19 minutes of actual content! TV is shit now...
respect to them all..a bygone era of comedy... gone for a reason though,... very happy this garbage isn't what constitutes prime time tv anymore...oh hang on... it's actually worse than this now....
Bobby Ball and Rik Mayall riffing off each other! Bobby completely got Rik’s humour - tremendous sketch!
Whatever happened to Saturday nights😔 love to them both💖
R.I.P Bobby Ball A beautiful Soul. So sad to hear of your passing. Bless you.
Almost as if the stars align, he makes a Sean Connery reference in the opening bit.
@@Phil_KaneONite_Wood And R.I.P Rik Mayall
This Rik Mayall interaction is the most surreal thing I've ever seen.
So, all good.
Glad you kept the commercials in.
I was thinking the same! Really sets the time period! :)
Still watch these ever day. This is when I was the happiness in my life.
Proper entertainment with proper entertainers. Forgot just how funny these guys were and with the legend that is Rik Mayall. Thanks for the laughs.
That glint in his eyes - just a funny, happy decent human being.
RIP Bobby.

They were happier days
Yes, there was very much an innocence about them, even in the ads.
They were brilliant and still make us laugh out loud even now, I'm glad UA-cam keeps the memories alive like this.
🎵 “And your hearttttt… will flyyyy… awayyyy”. 🎶 Just lovely - happier times. 😊
Love you Bobby! A place in the hearts of many of us 80’s kids. Sleep well xxxx
The scene with Rik Mayall.....BLOODY HILARIOUS 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rest in peace bobby and Rik❤️
Both Rik and Bobby Ball both in heaven now having a good laugh together
Just as long as Jesus Christ doesn't try to steal any of Rik's limelight.

Rik is obviously streets above them but the slapstick with Bobby works. They could have possibly developed something together.
Can’t you see the influence of style on Rik Mayall from Bobby Ball ?

The best thing about this was the old adverts. Renault 11 and on a B Reg. So this must be around 1985!!!

Robert Wainwright when's series 8 and 9 out on DVD?

21:11 bit of an aggressive manoeuvre there, tanking along the slip road! No wonder there aren't many Renault 11's left, must have all been written off
