- This is our Group Reaction & Review to HOME ALONE 2: LOST IN NEW YORK. This movie follows Kevin McCallister as he is separated from his family on their holiday vacation to Florida, this time in New York City where he has another encounter with the Wet Bandits after their escape from prison. Hughes finished writing the film by February 1991, after signing a six-picture deal with 20th Century Fox.

maturing is realizing kevin’s family was highkey trash. he was always overlooked by his family members and he’s always receiving the brunt of the punishment because although he is a mischievous kid, he often gets into trouble with the help of his family.

nowadays there’s absolutely no way a kid can make it as far as kevin did and although i wasn’t even alive during the 90s, i truly doubt kevin would’ve been able to do all this stuff for real during that time either. a child getting himself a room in the biggest hotel by himself not sounding concerning? especially a child getting on a plane and going from illinois to new york is absolutely insane

Yeah. I tried to trick the plaza staff with my 10 year old nephew. 😅 they had a laugh once they realized what my nephew was imitating.
Actually, its quite simple. Kids are never running around airports by themselves, they'd have to be with adults. That's why they made sure he identified his family member before allowing him to stay. Kevin wrongfully did and was following behind him when he arrived. There's not reason to think that's not his dad. Then, the rich have less rules. Plenty of adults have kids that accompany them on business trips and just stay in the hotel. Kids can't make reservations on their own and credit cards were just becoming a thing back then. That's why Kevin used the recorder to make the appointment and the staff checked the appointment before letting him stay. Rules are lax for the wealthy, the hotel situation could easily still happen today. Kids over 10 are allowed to fly unaccompanied. Under 10 and you have to pay extra for a flight attendant to accompany them for you if you're not going to be there.

The thing with trump is when he would visit a city - he would sneak into little restaurants and talk to the people. I seen one in Brookpark ohio that was mostly the elderly. He talked to each and every one of them and everything he said he would do - he did. That's why he has so much support from everyone. He kept his word.

I'M FROM NYC, I got my vaccine, and I left. Haven't been back since. While I was actually growing up there. I never really thought too hard about it, but it's actually really sad, this movie is actually pretty damn accurate. People really do steal the hat off your head, people actually will leer at kids and women like that. It's One of the largest cities in the world, in the most misogynistic part of the developed world. Also Eiffel Tower? 😂😂 Sure it and Ms Liberty are both French but totally different countries. Also NY and Florida are east coast and neither that great to be going to during winter. Florida can vary but it is still close to hurricane season, and New York while pretty is freezing. I would love to go to NY city for christmas but id be out of there soon, way too close to the Great Lakes and Atlantic and the cold winds.

i had a friend whose summer home was a bit like the building Kevin uses in Home Alone 2 (his uncles house) and strangely enough that was renovated at one point as well. it was huge, three stories high and from certain places you could see from top to bottom like the stair well area.
trump owned the Plaza hotel at the time and it was in contracts that if filming was happening in the hotel trump had to make a cameo appearance lol 🙄

i fw the beards btw. theyre looking rly clean and you have to think about when the movies were made cause i rewatched your home alone reaction before this one and these movies could not be made based on how the world is today. i think thats why a lot of people like the home alone series though, it lets you experience the times before 9/11, which according to older people i know was a much more relaxed time period becuase security was not nearly as beefed up in the airport and in general as it is today. it feels weird to see the twin towers in this movie as well
