There is actually a special stat spread optimal for almost every build in the game. Its 7 strength, 5 perception, 8 endurance, 1 charisma, 5 intelligence, 6 agility, and 8 luck. Slight modifications can be made based on the build such as higher agility for vats builds, 1 luck for explosive builds, and high charisma for follower builds. Keep in mind perception actually has no effect on vats accuracy as it is bugged so there is no point going above 6 perception, and the health regen implant really isn't necessary at only 1hp per 10 minutes.
could you try a Fallout run with only the classics? like the Tire Iron, (sorry I don't know the rest I'd guess that a .9 mm. is in there too.) Or hell, maybe even a run as a Trenchgun weilding rat.
It's really cool being able to watch someone rise in challenge runs now that MittenSquad is gone. I don't think anyone will ever be able to replace him, but you help fill that gap in my heart.
You should check out Nerbit he does a lot of challenge runs. But you're right Paul of mitten squad was also my favourite challenge runner for these games.
For future reference, counterintuitive as this is, "Trigger discipline" is sort of a detriment for sniper builds because of the way accuracy works in NV. Every weapon has a positive "bullet spread" value, and unsurprisingly, long-range rifles have extremely low spread to begin with. This makes the 20% better accuracy do almost nothing, while 20% slower fire rate is a very noticable nerf in many situations. This also means that its counterpart fast shot is actually great for sniper builds. If a weapon has .05 bullet spread, youre getting 20% faster firing speed at the cost of raising the bullet spread to .06. An extremely generous tradeoff if you ask me.

I don't see anyone else mentioning this, but if I recall correctly you don't actually pay the 2,000 caps to enter the Strip, the Securitron only checks to make sure you have them.
I didn’t know that, but the easiest way into the strip for me at least is to hill the NCR soldier that warns you when you get to primm and steal his uniform. He’s separated from the rest of the NCR in primm, so they won’t aggro on you if you’re quick enough. Then you take that outfit, use it to board the monorail, and that’s that
@@I_am_boxthere's a dead NCR trooper next to the entrance to the divide, in a cave to the left of it with some coyotes, sometimes he can have a service title on him, or a 10mm submachine gun and a couple other things
If anyone is crazy enough to try this themselves, you should go with 9 Luck when you pick your SPECIAL stats (if you're using the same stats as Willow, I'd drain Strength since Ratslayer has a very low Strength requirement). Then stop at Novac and do Boone's quest to get the First Recon Beret, buy an implant to get to 10 Luck (if you need caps, just find a casino and play blackjack until they kick you out), and take the Finesse perk at level 10. This gets you a base critical hit chance of 20%. Ratslayer has a 5x critical hit chance multplier, which means every shot is now a critical hit that deals double damage.
I'd go with 8 Luck, then getting the unique sunglasses (+1 Luck) from the Legion Safehouse after getting the "Mark of Caesar", even if you aren't doing a Legion playthrough it is easy enough to get the Legion to like you by either trading in NCR dogtags or exploiting a dialoge bug to repeatedly teach the Legion to deal with landmines (50 Explosives required) both methods are available in Cottonwood Cove.
I love that this game will not die. Really love how more and more people are appreciating the game. I bought it when it came out and remember it getting good enough reviews (noting it was extremely buggy) but it’s grown in appreciation over the years.
the game was always a masterpiece from a writing standpoint, it's only gotten better with mods for quality of life. It's aged well thanks to a thriving modding community.

Fallout nv as a cowboy can only use weapons affected by the cowboy perk no stims only Food and drink and the sheriff or bounty hunter duster no drugs but coyote tobacco is fine

I really appreciate how you called the varmint rifle silencer a "suppressor." It kinda bugs me that a game with this many guns in it doesn't know the difference.

I think there's history behind it involving them originally being called "silencers" but people coined the term "suppressors" for the sake of not false advertising. Also movies and games make the bloody things why too quiet and it ruins the immersion for some of us. The way I see it, it's just something small enough you don't want to make a big deal about but large enough it annoys the fire out of you.
Don’t waste special points on charisma in NV much more worth it to have the extra intelligence or strength or something else over the initial small boost to speech

Willow I don't know if you will ever see this comment but here are some things about your modlist: -NVAC is outdated, use new vegas tick fix (nvtf) and 4gb patcher insted -B42 scopes is just a better version of NVTS -NMC large pack is waaay to large for new vegas-switch to low you won't notice any diffrence anyways -Follow Viva New Vegas guide for more stability and QOL mods EDIT: There are some other animation mods like New vegas clean animations(normal version and reborn), hits animations and anniversary animtion pack-would be cool if you check them for other videos
12:46 Pro tip on this area: before passing through if you want to do this smoother you can sneak up the ridge to the south I believe? You should be able to sneak past the bighorners up there, they'll show up as hostile but they shouldn't go out of their way to attack you if you keep your distance. Once past them there's nothing between you and the two Vipers east of these bighorners. At this distance the other Vipers to the northern hill won't aggro to you. I advise starting this engagement with a sneak attack then once you finish these two off, if you have a decent scoped weapon you should be able to get at least one sneak crit off the northern Vipers across the road.
I've been watching Summoning Salt non-stop the last two weeks, so coming across this and hearing the shift in music and tone really threw me for a loop! Love it!
Ah yes.This intro brings alot of memories. The most memorable thing from this game's intro is that Chandler (Benny) from "Friends" kills you (nearly) XD
Looks really painful experience also you can modded the hunting rifle into sniper from gra vendor. There is gobi scout witch is powerful but it requires 100 lockpick skill.
Pro tip: when you enter the road BOOK IT and make a hard left the moment you can and run to the fence, based on the time between it’s shot and it’s landing you can make it without taking dmg or taking almost no dmg.
I recommend using the Gobi Campaign Scout rifle as a unique mid game or even late game sniper it does slightly more damage than the base sniper rifle has the highest dps and the largest magazine capacity although it is a very hard locked chest to get it

We definitely need a robot only challenge (crafting them with the automatron dlc stuff) because I’m actually curious just how difficult it’ll be to clear the game only using them.
Personally, I love rushing Cottonwood Cove with sniper builds to get Gobi scout rifle as soon as possible. Thanks to better crit DMG than normal sniper rifle, it is basically the end game weapon that you can get reasonably quickly is you increase your lock picking to 100.
@@james14294 it is natural. Most of the bits in this video were me just realizing that something I said was silly and laughing at it. Normally I would change it to be less silly cause I was being super serious about the videos ^^
Also I think Medium and heavy armor are somewhat detrimental to a good sniper build. Light armor has a crap load of benefits and perks related to it and precision and a quick getaway matter the most when youre sniping
Nice job. Personally, I would have put a bit of a bigger focus on luck and stealth early on, and made a dash for the Ratslayer. On higher difficulty it is a bitch to get but I think speedrunning through the cave and grabbing it is a must for a sniper build.
Did you put any though into my suggestion for a vampire run in fallout 4? Only be out at night between 6:00 pm and 6:am with night person perk and cannibal (No stimpacks because they look like crosses)
The run is a failure from minute one. You will always exit the vault during the day. Even ignoring that I just don't find the concept difficult, more so tedious with having to waste half the time of the run hiding inside, also obsessing over the in game clock isn't difficult or interesting. Don't get me wrong, it's still on the list and members could vote for it one day but unless there's something added to it or changed with how it would work it's a bit of an odd one to make. Thank you for the suggestion and please don't let this discourage you from suggesting other runs! I just like being honest. You're beautiful and thank you for the comment!

Ok, typing this before I watch it through. This will be an interesting challenge, though sneak may be able to even things out. Ratslayer is a good unique for this if you’re stealthing through, but if Endgame is anti-material, this will be fun to see, curious as to who our endgame is.
Ok, I’m apparently live commenting this. I never realised how bullet spongey the higher difficulties make things. This will be interesting. Even stealth might not be over-powered here
personally would have used B42 Optics instead of True Scopes as Optics gives true dual rendering scopes (just have to do some tweaking when you get one when using other weapon animations), dual rendering meaning what is in your scope is zoomed but around your scope is your set FOV given I try to make my load orders as immersive as possible while not changing too much of the combat balance, and to be clear I just like suggesting alternate mods to ones and am not bashing on you using True Scopes
Honestly, I barely spend any time on my mods. I just go with the first thing that works and doesn't feel too disruptive to the base game. I tried 2 scope mods and this was the one that actually worked so it's what I used. Thanks for the suggestion, I don't think I'll be using it as I never opt for scopes of my own volition but if I do need a scope mod again I'll def look into it
Ngl this is probably one of the more forgiving and easier challenges especially if you use something like a silenced .22 with 10 luck because armoured or not, it will result in either 1 shotting to the body or just dealing insane damage

Being a sniper in NV is one of the most satisfying gameplay. Granted i use more than just a sniper rifle,but 90% of my kills are by way of it.
The only mod I play New Vegas with every time is the "Two bears high-fiving" mod so I can answer the inkblot test correctly.
Is there a version where it says two ninjas/samurai instead? 😂

Pro tip: when you enter the road BOOK IT and make a hard left the moment you can and run to the fence, based on the time between it’s shot and it’s landing you can make it without taking dmg or taking almost no dmg.

Fallout New Vegas crashing right after the character creation is the most Fallout New Vegas ever!
I recommend using the Gobi Campaign Scout rifle as a unique mid game or even late game sniper it does slightly more damage than the base sniper rifle has the highest dps and the largest magazine capacity although it is a very hard locked chest to get it

Personally, I love rushing Cottonwood Cove with sniper builds to get Gobi scout rifle as soon as possible. Thanks to better crit DMG than normal sniper rifle, it is basically the end game weapon that you can get reasonably quickly is you increase your lock picking to 100.

Also I think Medium and heavy armor are somewhat detrimental to a good sniper build. Light armor has a crap load of benefits and perks related to it and precision and a quick getaway matter the most when youre sniping

Nice job. Personally, I would have put a bit of a bigger focus on luck and stealth early on, and made a dash for the Ratslayer. On higher difficulty it is a bitch to get but I think speedrunning through the cave and grabbing it is a must for a sniper build.

Did you put any though into my suggestion for a vampire run in fallout 4?
Only be out at night between 6:00 pm and 6:am with night person perk and cannibal
(No stimpacks because they look like crosses)
The run is a failure from minute one. You will always exit the vault during the day. Even ignoring that I just don't find the concept difficult, more so tedious with having to waste half the time of the run hiding inside, also obsessing over the in game clock isn't difficult or interesting. Don't get me wrong, it's still on the list and members could vote for it one day but unless there's something added to it or changed with how it would work it's a bit of an odd one to make. Thank you for the suggestion and please don't let this discourage you from suggesting other runs! I just like being honest. You're beautiful and thank you for the comment!
fun fact when sunny smiles gives you the varmet rifle if you drop your 30 rounds she give you 30 more the you pick up your rounds = 60 then do the mini quest i think she gives another 60 so 120 lol .. i just love tossing the mag at her feet and being like ops idk what happened to my ammo lmao

personally would have used B42 Optics instead of True Scopes as Optics gives true dual rendering scopes (just have to do some tweaking when you get one when using other weapon animations), dual rendering meaning what is in your scope is zoomed but around your scope is your set FOV given I try to make my load orders as immersive as possible while not changing too much of the combat balance, and to be clear I just like suggesting alternate mods to ones and am not bashing on you using True Scopes
Honestly, I barely spend any time on my mods. I just go with the first thing that works and doesn't feel too disruptive to the base game. I tried 2 scope mods and this was the one that actually worked so it's what I used. Thanks for the suggestion, I don't think I'll be using it as I never opt for scopes of my own volition but if I do need a scope mod again I'll def look into it
Ngl this is probably one of the more forgiving and easier challenges especially if you use something like a silenced .22 with 10 luck because armoured or not, it will result in either 1 shotting to the body or just dealing insane damage
