When The Volcano Kid was in the dressing room, he came over to me and asked “what did I think of his performance?,” recalling when I got paid for my first pro match, I reached into my pocket and handed him $55, and told him it was a good job, he sold it really well, and I promised him that if I did another show, I’d book him for sure. Later on that night, The Volcano Kid did a run in on Snuka’s program, but I was attentive elsewhere, as I told Snuka and Herc (Ray) that they could come up with their own match, so I wasn’t involved but he got some work there as well.
