    man, this is awesome. I love how you add the image to the wood. Some days ago I decided to create my custom dm screen and I recicle some plastic from a drawing folder from my art school. I can't use this technique this time, but I definetly want to try it in the future :)

    This is crazy, I had no idea you could transfer laser prints onto wood like this. Thank you so much!!!

      Its a little time-consuming to remove the paper but its worth the effort. I guess if you have actual modpodge at hand it should be even faster and look better.

    I love your dm screen. I like the that its homemade because some of us can't afford the cool fancy ones. They too are a beautiful work of art but I will always appreciate homemade art works like this. You did a great job.

    This is really great work! Also, I'm glad I watched this as I'm also building a wooden one with cork and would not have thought about the thickness of two layers when folding the screen. Now I can prepare for this.

    I liked your build. An alternative way of filling an oversized hole is a small piece of dowel or matchstick. You could always use bulldog clips to keep notes on the DM side of the wings, although they would diminish the look of it from the players perspective.

    That toner transfer to the wood blew me away. Will that only work with lazar printed pictures on will it also work with inkjet printers?

    • @JCRandom
      @JCRandom  3 роки тому +5

      Sadly it only works with lazer printers. Since its "ink" is more like a plastic it sticks to the glue and stays on the wood when paper goes away with the water. I tried with regular ink printers and the whole thing disapears after the water comes in...

      Hey! Thanks a lot for the comment! I've been very recently getting into OSR and indie rpgs and leave the trash of mainstream and I've re-found my love for table top gaming. I had never heard about your books but after several video reviews it seems VERY interesting so I'm going to Drive Throw RPG to get me some PDFs. Again, thanks fot the info!

    Instead of using mod podge can I use Elmer's glue or regular white school glue

    • @JCRandom
      @JCRandom  4 роки тому

      Sadly no. I tried and the glue just wont keep the toner stuck and just everything goes away with water.

      @@samstapleton3739 yeap. Same here. I also didn't have ACTUAL mod podge (that isn't even for sale in this continent)... I had a box of very old very dusty pre-pandemic bottles of many kinds of random varnishes and glues and glues i bought at some point in the past, so i spent a couple of days testing all of them using small pieces of paper until i found one the worked similarly to modpoge.

    what transfer paper did you use dude ?

    • @JCRandom
      @JCRandom  3 роки тому +1

      It's very cheap printer paper and I used a modpodge-equivalent to transfer the photocopy toner to the wood. There are very good tutorials here on youtube, just search for "transfer photo to wood with mod podge"
