Yup, in a day and age when most people have lost their minds in zombiedom cellphone bliss, it is refreshing to listen to socially rational humour about human perversion without malice, but also without illusion. Frank was the most cutting edge social critic. He was bang on about almost everything.
This brings back good time memories. At a friend's house in Kuala Lumpur smoking ganja and listening to this and other Zappa. Eating Roti and chicken curry.. Drinking Anchor beer.... Good times.
This song is in one of the most odd meters in all of music, 19/16. A measure of 4/4 followed by 3 16ths of a beat, so the fact this performance is so flawless is made even more impressive by the fact that this song is just unbelievably hard to stay in time
If I had play someone one frank zappa that embodied him I would play this song . Funny yet serious lyrics .. complex orchestration and rhythms... killer solo..
The dislikes are prob from purists who think the only good performance is the one on the album with Vinnie Colaiuta playing in 13/4. Little do they know...the 1984 band kicked ass.
Ray White on rhythm guitar and vocals Ike Willis on rhythm guitar and vocals Bobby Martin on keyboards, saxophone, and vocals Scott Thunes on bass Allan Zavod on keyboards
A more complete live performance one cannot find. Flawless and awe inspiring.
funny thing is this isn't even the complete show filmed lol
@@BigShep96 I was referring specifically to this track. Are the edited out tracks available anywhere? Goblin Girl, Hotplate Heaven etc?

Frank always did that to his players to keep them on their toes I'm guessing?

Simply incredible!!!!
I love how this band guys are like some music-conservatory-nerds but if they formed a band in a mental institution.......
Best version!
The Buffalo version is killer too.
Whats with all the dislikes, it's a great performance
people tend to dislike videos if they aren't in perfect HD, irregardless of the content
The dislikes are prob from purists who think the only good performance is the one on the album with Vinnie Colaiuta playing in 13/4. Little do they know...the 1984 band kicked ass.
probably Elvis fans
The dislikes are from the crew sluts that were left with a burning sensation during urination when the band left town
Finally Google inhibited the view for non admins. By the way this version with Wakerman on drums is grrat
