    Great footage, and great surfing, Mashup is such a fun board love mine. I just got a Slater designs FRK in the new ibolic construction for good waves, this board is absolutely epic so fast and responsive and ibolic is the best FireWire tech to date high recommended get one.

      How does the Futures Rusta quad go in the Mush up? Are they really loose and have some good hold?

    Great video! Have you tried a twin + trailer in the Mashup yet?

      Cheers mate! Nah just as a Quad so far. Still need to have a play with it as a Thruster too. Have you tried it as a twin + trailer?

    Great clip! Thanks for your reviews. Did you say you use medium size fins on the mash up? Do you recommend that for a 170 pound surfer? When do you you use medium vs larges? Thanks!

      Thanks mate! Using a Medium set of quads in this clip. Normally ride a Large thruster in all other boards I surf as I’m around the 85kg/185 pound mark. Can get away with the Medium fin being a quad and in these smaller waves at the pool. At 170 pound, your right on the cusp of Medium and Large so could use a Medium fin when waves are smaller/softer then swap to a Large when it’s big/more of a critical wave

      Thanks so much. That is very helpful. I'm going to give the medium quads a go!@@attembrah

    Did you exclusively ride it as a quad? Have you tried it as a thruster? Any thoughts on the mashup vs the seaside? I have a seaside, rode it all winter but then found it a bit limiting (too flat and wide). Now I use it as a groveler. But I’d like to see if the mashup fares better in both small and bigger surf than a seaside, and how it may go as a 2+1 or thruster since those aren’t options on the seaside. Mahalo.

      I had a seaside but now have a Mush up witch I prefer has more performance epic board. I ride the Mashup as a Thruster with new Torkoro future fins which is my absolute favourite fin right now. I have ridden as a quad which is fun, but prefer thruster at this stage. Mashup is epic in softer 1-4ft waves and when waves are bigger more curvy Im riding my new Slater FRK ibolic this board I highly recommend it's a absolute epic best performance board I've ever ridden, so fast and responsive, easy to ride surprising, paddles really well, this board makes me feel so confident in good waves, I'm also riding the torkoro future fins in the FRK as well. Mash-up and FRK is my 2 board, quiver to cover all conditions. If you have a seaside I would go a FRK for good waves instead of the mashup

      G’day Mike! Apologise for late reply. We’re crossing the Nullarbor at the moment so minimal service/wifi. Everything that Tez mentions in his comment is spot on. We’ve also had a Seaside before but didn’t overly enjoy it as it felt corky. A lot of volume in the chest. It’s a good groveller but isn’t overly versatile. Mashup performs better in a wider range of conditions. Best for 1-4ft days. Could maybe push it to 5ft on a clean point break. Definitely ride the Mashup predominantly as a Quad. Don’t swap it to a thruster or 2+1 set up often as I love the way it feels with the Quad set up (if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it haha). For purely bigger/better waves FRK in the Firewire/Slater Designs is the go. Thanks for your comment!

      @@attembrah thanks. Interesting. Yeah, I was surfing my Seaside in some overhead steep, fast, ledgy reef breaks here in Hawaii. Everything was tricky on it. I got on an RNF 96 middle through winter, much better. I just grovel on the Seaside now, but that nose is catchy up front often. I had the seaside and beyond out today, which I barely ride ever, but it was smother in wraps with an extra 14” in length, but slower. I’ve been eyeing the MashUp cause the outline reminds me of the RNF96 but it has more fin options. And, FireWire construction is incredibly durable. Thanks for the info! Aloha.

      @@tezf6883 thanks. Yeah, I surf sorta steep, ledgy, waves here. Kinda short, three wraps if you’re lucky on the right, three top to bottom cracks on a left if it’s not barreling straight from takeoff. I thought maybe the entry rocker on a mashup would be more forgiving, since it’s more pulled in than seaside; that it would work top to bottom better too. I generally am on an RNF96, with an upright 2+ baby t. The rights soften up real quick after a fast, steep, take off. My local break is great but nuanced AF. Plus I deal with dumbass longboarders who occasionally make it outside, trying to paddle in from way behind the ledge and air drop into a square pit. So I need a little extra foam just to block them off the ledge a bit so I can paddle back into proper position. The extra fish foam helps on the mushy shoulders too. I’ll take a look at the Slater board. Maybe I’ll sell my glazer and try a more HP shortboard. Thanks.

    Been looking at the mashup as a potential new board to try and surf more top to bottom, you have been surfing this board great in range of conditions for while now, was wondering how you rate this board now, or will you do an update on your previous review. Mainly surf fatish beach breaks 2-4ft

    • @attembrah
      @attembrah  Рік тому +1

      The mashup is still one of my favourite boards! Can’t fault it in 2-4 foot waves, should be just what you are looking for.

    I appreciate the video but gopro footage from this perspective is frustrating to watch.
