The problem is those projectiles act as actual Grenades. They have physics and can be destroyed midflight. If you shoot a barrage and one spot you can notice that the first explosion hits the following grenades which either results in them exploding mid-aid or are being propelled back to yourself.
The first nades blow the next wave back. Same with firing directly up, the first impacts spread the subsequent nades all over. Also, you can VATS the cryo nades out the air when someone wants to blind everyone in an event.
I think the answer for their trajectory is obvious. The projectiles are very easily moved by the wind. That last shot went off to the side because a bird flew by and flapped its wings which totally changed the grenades course. Imagine the chaos if a vertibot flew by.
I feel like this was made as a niche weapon for pvp specifically. Cryo damage is really only good against other players, and the AP drain is a dead giveaway. Having tested it, it won’t kill thru healing but it will absolutely force the other person to disengage because they can’t see or really do anything other than heal.
The tesla cannon has grown on me for tagging in events lol especially in rad rumble but the nuka launcher is still decent enough just has a tendency to do too much damage lol
I noticed this issue. I died a lot from this weapon in vats the 40mm go boom! just like you show!... like the 40mm trying to combine into one but don't they explode!! Cremator multi shot in vats combine no issue!
Thanks for the vid. Somehow Bethesda created a weapon that can be even more obnoxious in events than the nuka launcher. At least it doesn’t fling corpses into orbit.
It's because the grenades are not impact based like every other auto grenade launchers because the resolve breaker shoots actual cryo grenades, the explosions launch other grenades around just like you see when you throw any regular grenades. It's a fantastic weapon. Don't tell people it's bad just because you don't realize the way the weapon works

Am i the only one who doesn't shoot another grenade until the first one detonates? Fire...boom...fire...boom, unless the targets are widely separated and there is no chance of hitting the same enemies with the next shot, that is. I never understood the "spam 20 shots at one spot" mentality. I mean, you dont need to KILL the target to get the XP and credit, just do enough damage. Nothing pisses me off more than people at events trying to one shot kill everything so only they get the points. How big a jerk are you to do that??
Yeh honestly it's why I use the tesla cannon with grendier doesn't do all that much damage but tags really good, especially in events like rad rumble although maybe a tad blinding? But not crazy, the fact it can still tag through walls also is a godsend.
A lot of people are talking about explosions throwing the grenades back, but i think something else is going on. I noticed the lower your hit chance is, the more likely the grenades are to explode in your face. I think if the game determines a shot is not going to hit, it basically just drops the grenades at your feet
just get cryo resistance. the projectiles coming back have aoe damage effect for the enmies that may be surrounding you. so if you are immune to cryo or explosions they wont kill you
I took Electric off my auto axe. Is it true I will do more damage to The Guardian by doing that? It seems like it does more damage but its hard to tell.
@barcharmc6216 Would make sense to me. I use the Gatling Plasma myself, and it seems to shred it. You can always check its DR and ER with the Perception perk cards Awareness. If I remember to equip it and then also update this post the next time I go to solo farm it, I will. No guarantee, though. Edit:Typo Post Edit thought: Make sure you don't have anything equipped that would alter those numbers i.e. Stabilized or Anti-Armor Legendary Effect etc.

I tested it today and poisoned does more damage than electric (2340 vs 2069). This was with Furious, Heavy Hitter's and Pounders legendary mods. The standard mod does slightly more damage than electric but not much (2093 vs 2069)
Not about this weapon but been playing with the Pepper Shaker with the stabilize 4-star effect and my word you either have an Assualtron Beam of your own or Plamsa Ball. But I'm hitting negative numbers with it which is interesting. I see -0 to -6 damage which I find funny but strange.
Once i figured out what the issue was, i stopped nading myself. Also, not everyone uses/can use mods, so spamming the RB isn't nice anyway. From what i've seen, they don't yeet corpses btw, which is good thing.
I've had plenty of issues with downing myself with this weapon. It's really good but really broken. Like other people have said, the fact the game treats it as a regular arm-powered grenade lob and not one fired out of a 40mm launcher causes issues with the grenades, players targeting them is definitely a problem, so are the issues you showed. Other than that it's a great weapon for crowds and if you're considerate of others (depending on the group vibe) you can just hit tags & slow enemies for others but it can also easily be buffed into an insta-killer too. That's assuming somebody doesn't shoot one of your grenades or you try to use VATS. Edit: Oh my god, how did I forget about the grenades not doing damage at times? That was the most annoying part for me the last time I tried to use it. 🤦♂️🤣

With an Assassin's set that would fix it and make it useful. With possibly some Hardy two star effects (-7% explosive damage) or the standard chest armor mod that gives you exp resistance among perks and stats would make the splash damage tolerable. You're often going to be having enemies hitting you with melee anyway so it's not always wasted damage. This'll be good in Encrypted or any mob based event probably

sometimes it's cryo granades will do nothing to enemies, just the visual effect of the explosion.

Two Shot seems to have that problem in VATs. I noticed that if I used a Two Shot Bow the second projectile would fall to the ground in front of me.
its almost like fired rounds dont explode on impact or by other explosions. they then can get blow all around by the other explosions
Honestly, this is one of the use cases for the need to be able to modify legendary effects on unique weapons.

That sounds backwards, I was under the understanding that guardian has lower energy resist.

I have been using the Resolve Breaker for a while and just about got my build finished, it’s a great launcher.
