I quote this song in everyday conversation more than any other song, there’s just so many amazing bars in this. It’s too good not to. NF has given me an outlet for, as Kyle said, to hear everything I’ve been thinking put into actual words. But his work ethic and strive to do and be something that’s meaningful to him have also motivated me and pushed me to be and do better as well! I’m so grateful for finding his music 🖤🖤🖤

I am 41 years old and I tell my wife constantly that I WISH he or someone like him was around when I was in my younger years. The talent is amazing and he hits home so much in so many different ways. Amazing, amazing artist.

I bet you didn't know, "people change, even Satan used to be an angel", wasn't written originally for this song...I've listened to him ever since his first album, "Moments" came out in 2010 and remember how hard that line hit when he said it for the first time, then. There are a couple other bars, of his, that have been recycled to his new stuff, but the impact is still as profound.
In the video, "When I Grow Up", where Nate is in the car, trying to hand off a CD to the male passenger, and there are 2 female teenagers in the back seat with CD's, holding them, looking at them, it says "Moments"; that's his first album...I love the reference to his pre "Mansion" life. My ultimate love for NF is that everything really does tie together, for him. Welcome to the NF family, guys!

I am right there with you guys. I am 62 and I don't what the hell is going on? Such a dope song. Every bar is a gem. Yes, there are more versus, so to speak. Some of the songs on The Search have the same sentiment. I Miss the Days, Nate, and Only all shoot arrows of wisdom into our souls.

In the song when he says he slept with his regrets it connects all the way back to his song Mansion where he says the room upstairs with his regrets is where he sleeps. I love the connected thread throughout his music.

Kyle- Holy fbomb. The way you broke down happiness and joy punched a heart string. Have y'all ever watched the kid's movie Inside Out (pixar jam-its dope)? The way you broke that down hit so different to me and i believe it was a message the universe punched me with because I needed it. When y'all get a spare moment (haha) watch the movie and take it all in. Its a movie for kids but applies to all walks of life. Its heavy and hilarious at the same time. Basically its to teach kids about emotions and kinda how their brain works. The main character is....Joy. Youre welcome. ❤❤

Incredible reaction guys. I loved the whole verse about happiness and joy, especially the part about sleeping with regret. Remember in Mansion, how he had a room full of regrets, and it was hard because that's where he slept...Killer line and now pulling into this song. It made me gasp the first time I heard it.

I like the call back to Mansion in this song. "Regrets" was the room he slept in. And on a personal note.... I wish the Satan used to be an angel line didn't hit so hard because the line after it is the one I think was more important to him.
I don't want to spoil the journey for you guys so I won't say the song title, but what Eric was saying about happiness made me think of a song further down the journey in which Nate says "Even unhappy people can have happy moments," he just knows exactly what to say every time. He is truly an amazing artist and puts his heart out there for us and it is incredible. Also another great reaction from you two!
It's so unique of him to personify all his emotions and pains, giving them form and substance, enough to give us license to give them the face we envision. He is a master storyteller and a savant at relatability.

I'll be honest, I think every song on NFs discography is part of the journey. Some songs are more powerful than others, but even some of the songs you missed, that are more hype music, still have a message to them. And they are worth listening too.
This is the realest song ever. These lines are something you instantly agree with but realize it's so simple. Laid out... every line hits and I feel it every time.
When you realize he works only with Tommie Profitt, and NF is involved in ever facet, directing, editing, videography, and every other step of the way… he maybe the most talented in music today!
