This video= "Feast and famine + waves of aggression." Another commander replay i watched "boros charm + Armageddon" You just say the greatest magic card titles of all time Pj. Thank you.
One of my favorite value combinations in boros Voltron is grafted exoskeleton and kediss. Hit one opponent with a 10 power infect commander, kill the table with infect
The best part is the first time you pull it off at a table, people are just shocked that they died to the boros equipment deck. It's also a bonus that both kediss and grafted exoskeleton just work well in the deck archetype to begin with
My solution to when my (new) Akiri deck just never had enough deck slots was to start a Tana/Ardenn deck with all leftovers. These two decks are surprisingly different for sharing colours and the main theme :) Edit: With so many cards coming out all of the time, I am grateful for my habit of only playing commanders whose artworks I really like and have a very strong preference for female legends, too. Women in magic, represent! What I want to say is: This saves me money and time, so it's cool.
Puresteel Paladin's in the new bant equipment precon, heaps of good staples in there I haven't picked up yet. Any plans for a bant equipment video PJ? :) (PS I like the 7 mana giant for infect)
With the treasure based ramp available in boros and the mana rocks, I've had a few good laughs in my Bruenor with Bludgeon Brawl. "I equip 12 treasure tokens and a sol ring...."
The blue player would have made infinite mana and then capsized all of your permanence back to your hand then he would have made infinite mana and stolen anything he wanted afterwards you would have never really got to play the wheel At that point he had the game locked it’s really what it came to
Im a little sad not seeing Leonin Shikari,so good in an equip deck. Being able to move your stuff at flash speed to protect or buff your dudes.also great with the swords that need to deal damage to trigger. But as you said,we have so many good cards in those colors I can understand why its not in.
@@johnperseo1044 Right, and with equip at flash speed would be almost like protection in that reguard. Im not sure what ID cut either if I was playing this. Maybe tome?
@@CommanderReplay that decks biggest problem and why it got set aside for the moment despite my love is it wins out of nowhere and like traditional storm I have no idea if i win until i actually win. But crackle is at least a card that i can go hey i ritualled and copied it so each of you take 15 damage three times.
Tbh. I'd like to see a "budget version" of the deck. I've only watched the first few minutes but I realize swords and good tutors are generally expensive in paper. Maybe on mtgo for instance 50tix no card more then 5tix or some kind of limit like that. Not your normal content but I'd like to see your shot at it.
I had actually started to mess with a budget version for the reasons mentioned in the video, but i quickly gave up after realizing that every card I want to play is like $25+ now. Im not saying it cant be done. But man i like Aurelia and Waves of Aggression and those are no longer budget options.
@@CommanderReplay tappedout.net/mtg-decks/budget-equiptment-1/?cb=1626858612 my brew based on 50 usd paper played it once and it seems ok. Feel free to mess around or take ideas from it of you want. I think bruenor has a better time focusing on staying low to the ground not big mana spells but scaling high and having a big few turns. Haste enabler seem really good for that. He isn't the play t4 with nothing else going on type of commander. Its play before o swing 40dmg at someone or for the free equipt before I attack. Not super competitive but was a fun brew.
They’ve been printing so many Boros voltron style commanders that in my opinion, all of these are starting to feel same-y. Especially when it’s basically just a swap of the commander, most of the decks seem to run almost exactly the same cards.. Rather boring :(
Yeah its sort of a solved archetype with a lot of power now. Thats why i was saying it gets more interesting if you actually have a budget to stick to. As they continue to print better things that produce mana and draw cards it could free up the reliance and feast and famine and fire and ice which would be really cool.
Maybe, it needs 40/5*3 +2 mana to be cast for 40 damage. That makes it 26 mana and that could be about on par with Torment of Hailfire. Thought that's lethal at around 20 mana (not necessarily so 'little'), so I don't know. Both red and black are very good at doing big mana though, so I'd guess a Rakdos deck could do it fairly well.
Kudos for the Simic player for being a gentleman and not start blasting permanents with grifon. Cost him the game.

that is.... evil and I love it

Will we ever see you play a Hofri deck?
Eventually! Just not enough hours in the day. Will get there at some point, it does look really interesting.
Deck list please

Lol I love it. I need to start running bludgeon brawl in there…a hilarious card.
I don't get this....treasures are 0 CMC, so how is this good?
ahhh Bruenor
That was a Whaley good time!
Orvar is comes out of nowhere 😂

Yeah I noticed that thats why i eventually scooped. The out would have been, mountain, mana crypt, dockside extortionist mob rule.
@@CommanderReplay yep, assuming no counter magic but agreed I think that was your only out
Such a fun commander, and a fun game!
Respect the Voltron!
Ohh I waited for this!
A bruenor, the example character
Good ol orvar that deck just wins at random.

In this deck specifically it probably worth it not sure where to cut but 1ce per turn free equipt is opponent turn too.

Woo crackle! Its a win condition in my zaffai stormish deck
Yeah its really strong. Do you have a little bit of mana? Ok everyone dies.

I just throw them all in my Akiri, Fearless Voyager deck. Bruenor, Wyleth, Reyav, and Halvar have all been rolled into it.
there is no way Crackle with Power is good, pls prove me wrong i wanna see that deck
