Amazing explanation. 👏🏾👏🏾And the "whys" just made the importance of this all more relevant and more interesting as well as gave a flow to the teaching. Thank you.

Thank you so much for the feedback, starting with why helps me keep the talks relevant so I’m very happy to hear that it is effective! If there is a topic in surgery you would like to hear more about definitely let me know

Awesome! Long time ago when I learned biochemistry at Medical School. Pretty long time ago. But I remember all this time after time and the citizen surgeon brings again the important key points , useful for all surgeons. And I'm a passionate qualified general surgeon, too. Thank you so much for this video!

That's it! As long as we ask the "why /how does it/doesn't it work", we're on our way to make a good job . And it's all about our patients, as long as we became non-selfish doctors ! Thank you so much! I appreciate your next videos! Take care and stay healthy! @@citizensurgeon

Just a bit confused by factors regulating insulin secretion during catabolic phase
Bailey and Love says and I quote "The INCREASED production of insulin at this time is associated with significant INSULIN RESISTANCE"
    Glucagon also stimulates Insulin Release
You said "endogenous insulin is not being produced" 16:58
This is contradictory to what Bailey and Love (it is the standard text for surgery here) has to say
    And now I am confused
But overall whatever way it is, one thing is clear to me that there is
    A) insulin resistance
    B) hyperglycemia because of it
