"Black tabby" actually refers to brown cats with black tabby markings. A pseudo tabby is a genetically solid red cat who outwardly appears to be tabby, despite not having the tabby gene.

You are correct about black tabbies, but I wanted to point out that psuedo tabbies are genetically red or tabby red cats that appear to be a darker cinnamon color. And false tabbies are genetically solid red that show the tabby pattern because the non agouti gene (agouti= tabby) cannot act upon (visually) the red base color. I just wanted to clear that up because there is a difference! :)

About the mystery of stripes here: there is a possibility for black cats with stripes to not be brown! Ghost tabby’s! A ghost tabby is a genetically solid (aka not tabby) smoke cat who still shows faint tabby markings. Ghost tabby may also apply to young kittens, who often show ghost markings when they're younger even though they aren't smoke. So it’s purrrfectly fine if people draw black stripy kittys: they’re possible. Not common but possible.
To the confusing pseudo tabby’s! Pseudo-Melanism (abundism) is where striping gets denser. And that’s it with the magic - just denser. We normally don’t use the name “pseudo-tabby” in breeding or naming cat colors in general that’s why nobody really know about such a thing before the clan Generator trend started. Just call them normal dense tabby’s haha.
(Jes I know everyone tells something different but I’m literally working on an genetically right cat breeding game so I basically NEED to know what I’m talking about. Just don’t ask me anything about body conformation genetic - still learning haha.)

Some interesting characters there for you to have fun with. Don't be in to much of a hurry to write your story you'll need time to rewrite several times over I expect before your happy with it. It's the creative journey you have to take to learn your craft and mould your talents.

A think a spotted tabby is those little leopard spots some cats get with tabby stripes also. My cat has both so thats what Id assume

@@LittleLion420 I agree with the fact that the commentary adds more. Besides my friend sent that. It’s true I don’t like the sound of my voice but it doesn’t matter. Also, about my audio quality, I don’t even have a mic 😂 I just record off my iPad that I use to draw with voice memos. And yes, Funitory and Juniper are some of my favourites too :D

A "Pseudo tabby" is a solid colored cat with very faint stripes. A black tabby is a white or brown cat with black stripes. A spotted tabby can be eithet what you did or a cat with tortie spots that have tabby markings inside of them. A mackerel tabby is the tabby you would most likely think of when some says tabby. A classic tabby is a tabby with more of a sparse, swirly pattern. A ticked tabby is a tabby that only has markings on paws, tail, and ears, maybe face. If i missed anything, please someone let me know 😅

About crane paw, I got into the generator and got some cat named crane star, had the same exact marking and long fur. Weird, right? Maybe you can do that for her future! Or if u have something already, it’s fine!

Just so you know what a spotted tabby and tortoiseshell is, here.
Imagine where the stripes are on a regular tabby. Now just put spots down where the stripes would go, kind of making them look like chopped up stripes.
Also, a tortie has a base of brown/black, with whatever referred to colors on top, usually in a blanket over the back and a mask on the face and tail.

ginger/red cat coat color doesn't do solid is basically whats up with pseudo tabbies, there's a specific tabby gene but it only shows on a black cat

@@positivityxtec3367 oh that’s a great question! I’m a little bit new at drawing cats in different poses other than sitting and standing, so I sorta just matched the pose with their expression. For example, fennelheart looks a bit concerned, so she’s looking over her shoulder and standing up. Cootberry and poppywhisker on the other hand are very chill in that image so they’re sitting down, grooming and chatting. Does that help?
