Oh man, I love this! The fact that Cherrykit is half-clan seems like it could play out interesting in the future… Your voice is so soothing, I know other commenters have mentioned much the same but this feels like an audiobook.
I really love this! I love the storytelling potential of ClanGen, and you're very passionate about the characters! You have such a relaxing voice, and really enjoy getting into character. This may be mostly so you don't have to write things down, but I've found myself spending the last hour absolutely enthralled. I'm actually on episode 2, right when Cherrypaw gets the idea that she has a prophecy about her. When that happened, a lot of things that happened during that episode and this one kind of fell into place for me, so I'm writing all this out. Maybe you'll like some of the things I say, maybe you'll just enjoy it as a kind of AU fanfic. I originally wrote this on episode 2, but it wind up getting so long that I had to split what happens in this episode with what happens in the next. I'll probably have another (really, really long) comment on the other video. about what happens up until she thinks there's a prophecy, and why I think she's actually right. WARNING: ABSOLUTE WALL OF TEXT AND SPECULATION AHEAD Cherrykit is obviously half-Clan. Even if it didn't say so directly on her profile, it would be obvious just looking at her and the circumstances into which she was born. What is Cherrykit's most persistent marking? She's SPLIT IN HALF. On one half as orange as a maple leaf, the other completely as white as the crystals surrounding MossClan. It also must have been mere moons after the previous leader dies (or "dies", considering it takes several moons for StarClan to agree to promote Shellcreek, she may have just pulled a Brokenstar and run off), and very shortly before Bluebellweb comes out of retirement to mediate these brand new hostilities. We know there are hostilities because Shell"star" worries about Clan relations. The oldest warrior is always trying to set a good example. Due to how young and inexperience the leader is, Rattlecry is overworked. And why was Shellcreek made deputy at such a young age? Maybe the previous deputy was fired for some reason, or died. My theory? Midnightheart was the previous deputy under Moonstar. The very same cats that the elders always wax poetic about, talking about her kit exploits, being cornered by a fox. Her recklessness. How, if a warrior hadn't leapt in to save her, she wouldn't have survived. It would make sense that they'd only refer to her as "Moonkit" then, which I thought was interesting because they imply she did in fact make it, but surely they would refer to her by her warrior or apprentice name if she lived past kithood. Perhaps calling her "Moonstar" would be giving too much away?
Midnightheart's affair comes to light somehow. Maybe via an omen from StarClan a la Ravenwing. Maybe it was from that wandering loner healer that Ravenfoot was speaking to one moon, or directly to Lowbuzz. Or maybe Shellcreek followed him out of camp and uncovered the whole thing, and that's why Moonstar elected him as deputy before everything blew up? Which brings up another question you brought up: Where IS Cherrykit's mom? She was literally newborn, not even eyes open, when she woke up in MossClan. If her mother died, no elders speak of it. Whoever her mother was, Cherrykit must have been unwanted by her. Midnightheart doesn't really seem to care that much about Cherrykit, instead only giving advice and shaping her into a good Clanmate. He spoke to her like a senior warrior, not a father. The elders are always, ALWAYS talking about how Cherrykit shouldn't even really enter the elder's den of all things without permission, much less the camp. Almost as if she shouldn't even be seen. I think that she was born into MapleClan as a bad omen. Her split coat was some kind of portent of doom. MapleClan didn't want her. MossClan doesn't even really want her. But Midnightheart couldn't leave his daughter alone to die, so he took her in. (Which could bring up a possibility that Cherrykit also has siblings in MapleClan and she was the only one singled out to be sent away, but that's a whole other thing). Cherrykit lived normally at first, given the benefit of the doubt. The elders don't trust her, but Shellstar and Lowbuzz are determined to make the best of this. She's such a sweet kit, after all, never being cruel and always submitting in an argument. Lowbuzz points out how she always asks after the well-being of other cats, and Shellstar pledges to keep an eye on her. A plan is formed: No cat will speak of the affair. No cat will speak of Moonstar, at least not directly. And both for her protection and to avoid outside influence, Cherrykit must never disobey or leave camp. The first story she's ever told is by Crestedkit, who had been told by all of the elders that the forest is full of monsters to discourage them going outside. But like any kit, she wants freedom. The way Copsekit describes her dream of making a den in the trees and watching the stars all night sparks Cherrykit's imagination. She starts disobeying and sneaking out the camp the instant she can walk. Cherrykit walks into the warrios den and is snarled at by another warrior, maybe out of reflex, and she runs away. When she catches the elders talking about Moonstar, they censors themselves and call them Moonkit, telling Cherrykit the story of when she was cornered by a fox to try and scare her into staying in the nursery, and then grumpily chase her away. Every time she comes back, they start telling the same story, and Cherrykit finds herself wishing that the elders would tell her the stories that the other kits are always telling her they've heard about.
As supportive as Rippleshade, Lowbuzz, and Shellstar seem to be, Midnightheart, Cherrykit's father and supposed to be her strongest pillar, was always emotionally distant. Sure, she was his daughter, but also a mark of shame, a possible bad omen, and the reason why his Clanmates looked at him with distrust. He tried to bring up his daughter correctly, and made sure that no cat told her what had happened before she was born. The very first conversation he has with her is teaching her battle moves, which seems to go over his daughter's head as she wonders why her father gives her advice and not affection. His mind is occupied, wanting to prove himself a loyal warrior to Rattlecry, who is being treated as a sort of leader-regent by most of the older cats, and all of them that know that Shellstar doesn't really have nine lives yet. The medicine cat, Lowbuzz, notices how Cherrykit is treated and brings her into her den after she notices the kit following her around. "Being a kit is the perfect time to learn", she says, and she keeps up with her word. She takes Cherrykit into the den, shows her herbs and flowers, insisting about how much Cherrykit reminds her of herself, and hinting that someday, Cherrykit will be medicine cat teaching these same herbs to an apprentice. The sweet little kit, bless her, does not get the hint. She spends more time with Crestedkit than Ravenfoot, who is a good enough influence. Cherrykit is sweet, kind, and compassionate, after all, and none of the kits treat her any differently. Lowbuzz insists that as long as she's brought up right, that she'll be as loyal and good a Clan cat as any other. The elders begin looking at Cherrykit more kindly, especially after Crestedkit brings her marching in, pretending to be leader and deputy, and she confidently tries to assign Bluebellweb a task. They begin letting her do kit things like tell her slightly different stories, or letting her play with their tails. Cherrykit ends up catching heat exhaustion, and is sent to the medicine den, but hopes are high that she'll recover. While Cherrykit is in the medicine den, she learns more from Lowbuzz, and seems excited to see Rubbledrift when he walks in with a splinter and lies down in the bed next to hers. She's even more excited when Midnightheart brings prey to Rubbledrift, using it as an excuse to speak with his daughter inbetween the constant chores he's being assigned as punishment. It's becoming clearer and clearer that Cherrykit couldn't harm a fly. Lowbuzz begins making plans to ask Shellstar to make her the next medicine cat apprentice when Cherrykit approaches Rubbledrift with a gift of flowers, offers to change his bedding out from under him, groom his pelt, and possibly even treat his wounds. Rubbledrift is overwhelmed but very grateful. She really seems to be a model kit with a bright future. But the other Clans don't know this, and the other cats are stressed. Things are rarely that easy. MossClan knows that their standing among the other Clans is shattered. The other Clans are upset that they only demoted Midnightheart rather than exiling him or making him bound to the camp, and the knowledge that Cherrykit is still in the territory is causing hostilities. Shellstar walks to the Moonstone every night, praying to StarClan to give him his nine lives and a sign that all of this will be over soon. But Moonstar, though absent, hasn't died, and StarClan refuses to acknowledge him until then.
As soon as Copsepaw is apprenticed to Rippleshade, Cherrykit is scrunitized again. She isn't allowed out of the nursery to watch, but she still hungrily gazes on as Rippleshade touches her nose to Copsepaw's forehead, imagining herself up there, apprenticed to Ravenfoot. Remembering Copsepaw's stories about climbing trees and watching the stars, Cherrykit decides to sneak just out of the crystal caves they call home so she can try and climb a tree. She doesn't get very fall, but the entire Clan seems to panic when she's found outside, as if the entire forest's fears are being made realized before their eyes. Leave it to cats to make a mountain out of a molehill. Cherrykit gushes to Strikekit about the future she imagines for herself, but Strikekit just snaps at her for being loud and annoying, for stuttering. After the migraine fades, though, so does the nastiness, and Cherrykit, Strikekit, and Crestedkit find themselves talking about how they're going to be the biggest, strongest warriors. But while Crestedkit emphasizes her bond with Cherrykit, saying that they'll be together forever, Strikekit keeps her eyes up, insisting that she'll be the best warrior ever, catching the largest mice. It's all in good fun to Cherrykit. She tries to talk to Copsepaw, who compliments her talents and speculates she could even be leader one day, but is quickly called away by Rippleshade. Ravenfoot gets a moment alone with Cherrykit, and is the first cat to tell her about some of the recent battles, though only through showing his scars, proudly speaking about how dangerous the world is, even when it seems placid and still, and how Ravenfoot channels her fear into determination. She says it's not the scars that define her, but the spirit, although she seems mighty pleased when she tells Cherrykit about the scars she's inflicted on other Clans. Midnightheart is called to "have a talk" with Cherrykit when she brings a string of thorns into the nursery, intending to make it part of her collection, but the other cats assume she's laying a trap for her denmates. Midnightheart compliments her on her collection, but downplays it as well, saying that "trinkets are all well and good, but the connections with our Clanmates are the most important treasures of all". Cherrykit comes away from the encounter feeling scolded, but she doesn't know why. That night, Rattlecry takes Midnightheart out on a border patrol, to lead away a large dog they believe that MapleClan had purposefully led to their borders. Cherrykit watches their backs as they leave, and her only thought is that she can't wait until she's a warrior and can go out on patrols, too. All is going as normal until an idea rings in Rattlecry's head. In the spur of the moment, he opens his mouth and makes a decision that will change Cherrykit's life forever. Rattlecry alerts the dog when Midnightheart gets close. Rattlecry gets away alive. Midnightheart, the problem, the source of the upheaval of normalcy, the reason why he's listening to a "leader" without StarClan's approval, without having had an apprentice, without even being two years old, is taken care of. When this gets to the Gathering, the other Clans will assume his death was StarClan's doing, and everything will go back to normal. At least, when he returns and finds Midnightheart's body, that's what he tells himself. I'm going to continue writing and finish off my thoughts on video two. I hope you like this, because I really like your storytelling and can't wait to see more in the future!
This whole lore thread is FANTASTIC!! The way you made every interaction count for something, the use of the prophecy, the explanation for why Cherrypaw's life played out so oddly! Ahh, your world building is amazing. I love the twist with Rattlecry last minute leading the dog onto Midnightheart. And Shellstar not receiving his lives because the previous leader was still out there. Thank you so much for sharing, I had so much fun reading through your interpretation. Patrols in ClanGen are brutal! I'm doing my own playthrough and one of my favorite cats, who was like a daughter to the leader and had just gotten her warrior name died to a badger. The end card of Midnightheart and Cherrykit is such a sweet scene.

In my ClanGen, the deputy, Mumblestone, and her mate Snipstem, both have their "romantic love" meters pretty high. I was recently checking this and found that Mumblestone also really likes Floodstar. But as I was checking to see if Floodstar liked her back, I found out that Snipstem really likes Floodstar as well. So Mumblestone and Snipstem both like Floodstar...and each other. Would you call this a love triangle if Floodstar's not in love with anybody...but she's in the middle of all the drama?
I have no idea what to call it, but it is hilarious thinking about Mumblestone and Snipstem competing for Floodstar's attention while being in love with eachother ;'D
I think shell star was made a warrior then a moon later the deputy died and they were the new deputy and then the leader was on border patrol and lost of their lives (this can actually happen in clangen)
In warrior cats they'd realistically be only 3 moons into warriorhood + that is not enough to train an apprentice which you need to have done to become deputy but i guess they didnt need to do that since they're a clan founder
Okay so if it's all downloaded and in that zipped up file, first you have to extract it, so right click and then 'extract all'. Then go into the ClanGen folder and scroll down until you see ClanGen with a little warriors icon!

I know your comment is like 8 months old. It is safe, but if he gets a Trojan warning, that's normal because Lifegen has the Clangen file within it, and the Clangen file has a Selfupdater. That's why Windows Security gives that warning. It's a Windows security bug that the Clangen dev knows about but can't do anything about it. Both Clangen and Lifegen have a Discord of their own. One of the Discord is provided in the video description.

Lowbuzz begins making plans to ask Shellstar to make her the next medicine cat apprentice when Cherrykit approaches Rubbledrift with a gift of flowers, offers to change his bedding out from under him, groom his pelt, and possibly even treat his wounds. Rubbledrift is overwhelmed but very grateful. She really seems to be a model kit with a bright future.
But the other Clans don't know this, and the other cats are stressed. Things are rarely that easy. MossClan knows that their standing among the other Clans is shattered. The other Clans are upset that they only demoted Midnightheart rather than exiling him or making him bound to the camp, and the knowledge that Cherrykit is still in the territory is causing hostilities. Shellstar walks to the Moonstone every night, praying to StarClan to give him his nine lives and a sign that all of this will be over soon. But Moonstar, though absent, hasn't died, and StarClan refuses to acknowledge him until then.
As soon as Copsepaw is apprenticed to Rippleshade, Cherrykit is scrunitized again. She isn't allowed out of the nursery to watch, but she still hungrily gazes on as Rippleshade touches her nose to Copsepaw's forehead, imagining herself up there, apprenticed to Ravenfoot. Remembering Copsepaw's stories about climbing trees and watching the stars, Cherrykit decides to sneak just out of the crystal caves they call home so she can try and climb a tree. She doesn't get very fall, but the entire Clan seems to panic when she's found outside, as if the entire forest's fears are being made realized before their eyes. Leave it to cats to make a mountain out of a molehill.
Cherrykit gushes to Strikekit about the future she imagines for herself, but Strikekit just snaps at her for being loud and annoying, for stuttering. After the migraine fades, though, so does the nastiness, and Cherrykit, Strikekit, and Crestedkit find themselves talking about how they're going to be the biggest, strongest warriors. But while Crestedkit emphasizes her bond with Cherrykit, saying that they'll be together forever, Strikekit keeps her eyes up, insisting that she'll be the best warrior ever, catching the largest mice. It's all in good fun to Cherrykit. She tries to talk to Copsepaw, who compliments her talents and speculates she could even be leader one day, but is quickly called away by Rippleshade.
Ravenfoot gets a moment alone with Cherrykit, and is the first cat to tell her about some of the recent battles, though only through showing his scars, proudly speaking about how dangerous the world is, even when it seems placid and still, and how Ravenfoot channels her fear into determination. She says it's not the scars that define her, but the spirit, although she seems mighty pleased when she tells Cherrykit about the scars she's inflicted on other Clans.
Midnightheart is called to "have a talk" with Cherrykit when she brings a string of thorns into the nursery, intending to make it part of her collection, but the other cats assume she's laying a trap for her denmates. Midnightheart compliments her on her collection, but downplays it as well, saying that "trinkets are all well and good, but the connections with our Clanmates are the most important treasures of all". Cherrykit comes away from the encounter feeling scolded, but she doesn't know why.
That night, Rattlecry takes Midnightheart out on a border patrol, to lead away a large dog they believe that MapleClan had purposefully led to their borders. Cherrykit watches their backs as they leave, and her only thought is that she can't wait until she's a warrior and can go out on patrols, too. All is going as normal until an idea rings in Rattlecry's head. In the spur of the moment, he opens his mouth and makes a decision that will change Cherrykit's life forever. Rattlecry alerts the dog when Midnightheart gets close. Rattlecry gets away alive. Midnightheart, the problem, the source of the upheaval of normalcy, the reason why he's listening to a "leader" without StarClan's approval, without having had an apprentice, without even being two years old, is taken care of. When this gets to the Gathering, the other Clans will assume his death was StarClan's doing, and everything will go back to normal. At least, when he returns and finds Midnightheart's body, that's what he tells himself.
I'm going to continue writing and finish off my thoughts on video two. I hope you like this, because I really like your storytelling and can't wait to see more in the future!
This whole lore thread is FANTASTIC!! The way you made every interaction count for something, the use of the prophecy, the explanation for why Cherrypaw's life played out so oddly! Ahh, your world building is amazing. I love the twist with Rattlecry last minute leading the dog onto Midnightheart. And Shellstar not receiving his lives because the previous leader was still out there. Thank you so much for sharing, I had so much fun reading through your interpretation. I wish I'd seen it before I started recording more! I'm definitely going to see if there's a way to start bringing some of these ideas over into the story ;u; INSPIRATIONAL

Patrols in ClanGen are brutal! I'm doing my own playthrough and one of my favorite cats, who was like a daughter to the leader and had just gotten her warrior name died to a badger. The end card of Midnightheart and Cherrykit is such a sweet scene.

This is a mod of ClanGen called LifeGen, you can download it from the ClanGen Discord: discord.gg/clangen. It lets you focus on just one cat and has all these neat extra things like the interaction buttons (I love it so much)

In my ClanGen, the deputy, Mumblestone, and her mate Snipstem, both have their "romantic love" meters pretty high. I was recently checking this and found that Mumblestone also really likes Floodstar. But as I was checking to see if Floodstar liked her back, I found out that Snipstem really likes Floodstar as well. So Mumblestone and Snipstem both like Floodstar...and each other. Would you call this a love triangle if Floodstar's not in love with anybody...but she's in the middle of all the drama?
I have no idea what to call it, but it is hilarious thinking about Mumblestone and Snipstem competing for Floodstar's attention while being in love with eachother ;'D

I think shell star was made a warrior then a moon later the deputy died and they were the new deputy and then the leader was on border patrol and lost of their lives (this can actually happen in clangen)

In warrior cats they'd realistically be only 3 moons into warriorhood + that is not enough to train an apprentice which you need to have done to become deputy but i guess they didnt need to do that since they're a clan founder

Okay so if it's all downloaded and in that zipped up file, first you have to extract it, so right click and then 'extract all'. Then go into the ClanGen folder and scroll down until you see ClanGen with a little warriors icon!

It is safe, but if he gets a Trojan warning, that's normal because Lifegen has the Clangen file within it, and the Clangen file has a Selfupdater.
That's why Windows Security gives that warning. It's a Windows security bug that the Clangen dev knows about but can't do anything about it.
Both Clangen and Lifegen have a Discord of their own.
One of the Discord is provided in the video description.
