Sadly, Mick Ronson was unable to do the tour, so Zal Cleminson took over the job.
In case you hadn't worked it out, I am Kevin Powell, the bass player in these clips.

I went to the opening show of the tour at Crawley leisure centre expecting to see Ronno.
All the way through the show I was looking at the guitarist thinking "I know you" but I couldnt put my finger on it.
It wasn't until Midge introduced the band at the end of the show that I realised it was Zal.
      Great show, great tour.
We went to the show at Wembley arena too.

What were the reasons Mick didn't tour?

Live Aid!! I wish. Looking back at my career, I know just how lucky I have been and I am very grateful too.

Great song. Video'd it from tv back then. Was, at that time, one of the very few films I could get with Mick Ronson in. Then bought the album, and went to see Midge Ure at Ham Odeon. Just found out I missed recent one off Rich Kids reunion at Islington Acadamy

    Hi Kevin,
Great to see this, thanks and commendations to all of you - wonderful stuff.
Did Midge and Mick disagree on things?
They are two of my biggest musical heroes, I'd have loved to see them tour together!
    God bless,
    Glenn.

Great basswork, you guys looked a little tense.I had heard Midge was drinking a lot during this time? I nearly came for a drum audition myself but my plans were scuppered lol. If you were in this touring band then I saw you when you came to Toronto!

Hi Terry, it was artistic differences that sealed his fate.

    HI Greyman
I've never seen this before, I've always wondered why Mick Ronson made it to the tour?

    HI Kevin,
Thanks for the info, was Mick not well enough?
It must have been very difficult for Midge to make that decision.
I saw the tour at Birmingham Odeon, great show.
Off this week to see Ultravox in Brum again.
    Best Wishes
    Terry.

This was many years before Mick's illness. I believe that there were 'musical differences' between Mick and Midge. Pity.

Come on now Lisa, you have not been paying attention, have you?
Firstly, take a look at all the comments on this clip.
Secondly, I feel insulted that you haven't read my channel stuff or looked at my playlists :-(
I am still a session player, now and again and recently did a couple of pub gigs with Harry Hill and over xmas I did my usual Panto at Wimbledon theatre, working with people like Brian Blessed and Pamela Anderson.
Do some research if you don't want to upset me.
    Kevin.x

That's a pity, Micks guitar style should have been perfect for Midges solo material :-(
    All the best
    Terry

Isnt this a song written by Midge Ure? Mick Ronson looks like a god compared the rest of the band and it was only a rehearsal, prefer him on a les paul and no wammy bar as he didn't need one. I saw the tour in 85 and it was brilliant with Zal Cleminson on Guitar, he can play a bit too.
