Legend! I was in his gig here in Finland and got to meet him after the gig. We Took a photograph with him, me and two of my friends and while taking the photograph he looked at us and said ”my new band”. Fond memories.

Love the Hamilton Ticats hat on Daniel's head, thumbing his hometown crest at the Toronto Argo's where he has been for many years. Always a trailblazer

Glad you mentioned Harold Budd, especially The Pearl. I'm surprised though he didn't mention Harold passing away early this year. Surely he must know (?)

Daniel, still rockin’ the TiCat hat! Thanks for all of the beautiful music over the decades. Duo Glide is probably at the top of my list.

The Sling Blade score solidified Lanois’s place in my heart. His work on Red Dead 2 changed my life

Awh man, how thrilled was I to see this vid pop up in my Subs list. Im a HUGE fan of Danny Lanois, both as a producer AND as a musician in his own right. been a fan of his since around 1987. My only gripe, this vid is way too short!

Well, in attempt to monetize this channel we do offer the full interview on patreon. There are about 7 more minutes in that cut.

I think Daniel Lanois might be referring to the legendary David Marsden at around 5:39. Marsden would play entire sides of new albums at night on CHUM-FM in the early 70's. We would make crappy cassette recordings of them while they aired, but then immediately head to Sam the Record Man to snag a copy of the new album. Marsden's humour on air definitely seemed "enhanced" at times. His show was always an education, always a time of musical discovery.

Ray Davies John Lennon and Paul and George Dylan Sam Cooke Keith Richards Brian Wilson. Always put Ray first since he is always overlooked when mentioning the great ones. Would rather be in a pub with a Guinness than on a golf course.

Why do something so pointless and stupid?

    • @michaelgranka7904

That is a ridiculous statement. Why would you bring that topic here. Life is much more fulfilling without any gods. Not afraid to burn in hell.

Good advice. I think Mr. Lanois has done that. Listen to his song The Maker, from Acadie.

What's with the strippers in Lanois' videos and performances. It's just plain tacky and stupid. The new album is really great though, I love it!
