When you think about it, it’s kinda sad. Kai’s kept all those feelings and emotions to himself and it’s at that moment when he can finally let them all out and let people hear what he is feeling. He’s kinda like Moro in a way. They both wanted to be the green ninja and were furious/upset when they found out they weren’t. Except that Kai didn’t turn fully to the dark side unlike Moro.
I do kind of like that even though it was a trick, Garmadon doesn’t even humor the idea of blaming Kai, and recognize it wasn’t his fault but becuase Chen manipulated him: it shows his growth as a character.
I think he might have, had his parents not returned post Time Twins. Based on how quickly he specifically started to chill after the whole Garmadon business that followed, I'm inclined to believe that his parents being back eventually ended up causing him to lose the sense of needing to be the responsible one, which let him unwind from how he was before. He still has the fire, but it has cooled, tempered, and now he is generally more controlled, and more mentally stable. Not perfectly so, of course, since friends randomly being presumed dead for long periods of time, including his sister, has got to do a number on him, but more stable than he would have been without them.
I think he only needs all active powers in that realm or something. It adds up with everything you all said. Nya isn't water ninja yet and morro is in another place
Imagine if Kai quits the ninja band and joins Harumi before the great Devourer attacks the city and becomes a member of the Sons of Garmadon renaming himself Agent Red and get his revenge on the ninjas, pixal, and Wu for ruining his life and never cared for him by ruining and destroying their lives and making them miserable
kai didn't betray any of his friend, he only wanted to get closer to master chen and grab his staff from him, all of it was just an act from kai if you watch a bit more, you'll see kai winked at his sister letting her know it's an act
Maybe it's because the spell gives the power of elements present ex: invisibility at hand, poison fang, heat resistant ext. They don't really need time wind and water since they are mostly land and don't require underwater fighting plus, time has not been an element for decades and the original anacondaive warriors did not possess the power of time travel, water breathing and flight
