If a hurricane hits Houston, downtown Houston *will* flood. Pretty much understood at this point.
Especially US-59.
No power for days means no cell phones or internet for a lot of people. The only communication device that will work reliably under these conditions is a shortwave radio on battery power.
If you don't have a ham radio, you aren't prepared. HF ham radios don't depend on cell towers or repeaters, and can work locally and at long distance. You don’t need a license to transmit if there is a real emergency.
