Fahadh Faasil Reminds Us Of Mohanlal's Effortlessness | Sathyan Anthikad Interview

Veteran director Sathyan Anthikad talks to Vivek Ranjit about the success of his latest film 'Njan Prakashan' with Fahadh Faasil in the lead. He talks about reuniting with his most famous collaborator - actor/writer Sreenivasan after 16 years. He elaborates on how he keeps himself updated and achieves success while most of his contemporaries from the 80s are not active anymore.
He also evaluates the criticisms against his movies and talks about discussing cinema with his children and indicates that there might be a Mohanlal-Sreenivasan movie directed by him soon. He talks about his earlier films like Pingami, Sandesham and how he made Artham because of a challenge put forward by Mammootty. He also talks about being inspired by the current crop of young filmmakers in Malayalam cinema, and adapting to new technologies like sync sound.

Question about pingami was spot on. I have always wondered why no other interviewer has never came up with a question related to pingami for all these years. Pingami by far is Sathyan sir's most different film. Also kalikkalam, and artham falls into the same stream. Sathyan sir should have done more of such action oriented thriller films. It is so refreshing to watch Sathyan sir's treatment of thriller genre
