Oh the joys of farming. I remember us having those days but lucky my dad was a pretty good mechanic.

Thanks for the video! Good to see you again. Always more to get done than time to do it. Be safe and good luck with harvest. It’s crazy the parts that used to come in one package now have 2 or 3 separate packages now. More money!😢

Do you and your brother use conventional oil in your tractors? Whether or not it's old dinosaur bones I dunno, but running rigs over the road has shown me synthetic oil really is better for wear. I always wanted to be a dairy farmer like my grandfather, uncle, and aunt, but the cost to get started is crazy and getting a milk market is almost impossible. Thanks for bringing us along with your herd.

Hello James. Thanks so much for stopping by and watching our video. We actually use a synthetic blend for oil in our tractors. It’s nice because we can go longer between changes. The newer tractors can go even longer between changes because of newer technology that burns the fuel up better. Yep there’s a lot of expenses to get into farming. It’s not easy when you can’t control what you get paid for your product. “The farmer is the only person who buys everything at retail and sells everything at wholesale”. John F. Kennedy.

Sucks to have breakdowns. If it's mechanical it will happen but always seems to at inopportune times. Sorry to hear about the 6,000 and your nephew. When I was that age and something like that would happen the first words I heard was "what did you do?" Always made me feel like crap. May everything keep running good from here on out.

It was a rookie mistake. He hit a badger hole and instead of stepping on the inching pedal he pulled on the shift lever to slow down a gear. The momentum caused him to pull it back too many gears to fast. So either the torsional dampener or input shaft got hurt. Just not fun when break downs happen when the economy is the way it is.

That weed looks like waterhemp. That stuff is miserable even spraying it. Cross pollinated with pig weed and produces way more seeds then pig weed alone.
