That was fantastic. What an athlete. With such an engaging personality. And what guts to do things her own way. I’m really looking forward to following her marathon debut.
Ha! Just from the loud clomping I could immediately tell she's wearing AFs. Best of luck at CIM. Looking forward to seeing how well a triathlete translates to sport specific competition.
I’ve been waiting for this!!! So many unanswered questions with your training. I would be terrified not having did a long session with 3 weeks to go. Can’t wait to follow you at CIM
Woman enters park bathroom, sees kit and grabs phone "Hi, is this the police? They're now using our bathroom as a shooting gallery! The paraphenalia! " 🤣 Thanks Sweat Elite and Lauren.
3.9 and 2.9 for the first 2 4ks seem like high readings for marathon threshold pace. Sounds like the altitude is why she is working at a higher number and still considering it as marathon threshold zone (LT1).
Agree, need more Lauren TV here. Like the informative content and your eloquent appearance with such personal information. By the way: I recognized the Alphaflys but do you or somebody else here change to „winter“ or trail shoes to have better grip in the cold season training (icy roads)?
Thanks for insights! Keep posting on LR forum on respectfull thread about doubles. Very interesting your schedule! I need your experience with double thresholds+long runs for preparation to the HM/M, this is the most critical question for double threshold training approach to the distances more than 10km
She said her coach was Arlid Tveiten, who is a Norwegian Triathlon coach. Really interested to see how this goes for her. He is the Head Coach for Norway - Kristian Blummenfelt (current Triathlon Olympic Champ, Ironman World Champ (St. George) and 70.3 World Champ) and Gustav Iden (multiple 70.3 World Champ and just won Ironman Kona). I think Arlid knows his stuff!
Not really as this is a threshold workout, for Lauren translates to half marathon pace as she runs 69 mins for that. You wouldn’t be able to run 16k at ten k pace. Threshold pace all depends on your race times and what you could realistically do in an hour or so. Base your workouts on that pace and adjust the workout accordingly. Let me know your race times and target Half marathon time and I could advise.
Ok so based on target race pace, your threshold pace is around 6:19 mile. The key to threshold workouts is not to do them too quick, it’s a controlled effort, not a time trial. So the best way for you to recreate this workout would be 4 x 12 mins @ threshold pace and resting for 2 mins each rep. So you get 48 mins threshold (approximately 7.5 miles volume). This would recreate the same intensity as Lauren. In order for you to do the same workout as Lauren 4 x 4k you would do it at your target Half Marathon pace of 6:29 mile. These are both fairly big volume to intensity workouts so I’d suggest doing this after building up over a number of weeks training and for a half marathon 16k of volume at race pace off 2 mins is probably the biggest workout required. Hope this helps
Actually you are not only trying to use fat but also that more lactate you are producing after eating CHO. working on All these pathway to get more oxidative capacity. The more functional your mitochondria are, the more lactate they can oxidize. Finding the plateau is the real goal. Because if your real goal is to "burn fat", then you shouldn't take carbs and you will never be able to go as fast as you want to
Thanks for the int. But I think it's not gonna work in this Covid pandemic period, I mean for all of us not only for jogger and runner. You know keep doing workout exercises. Still wonder...
We need a series with Lauren!!!
💯
YES!
This
agreed

Lauren: "I'm gonna slow down a little"

Yes, team Stryd power! Lauren is always an entertaining guest on Sweat Elite, and her running is incredible as well obviously 🤣
The running form is frikkin perfect. I can keep watching
She has far from perfect form (if that is a thing). It's part of what makes her intriguing though.
Umm so she is running 3:23/K, aka 5:28/mi pace, just casually talking to Sweat Elite while running... WOW!!!

thank you very much.😍

What lactate meter would you suggest getting?
Lactate pro and Edge are two that have the best scientific validity in terms of result accuracy. Edge can require a lot of blood though.
This beautiful place looks like heaven to me, I can't even dream of ever being in such a beautiful place.
Love it and the course loop she did ii on!
Now I am a Lauren fan! PARIS HERE WE COME
Impressive…. Good luck!!!

Man!! Where is this park?
Wow, conversing at 3:20ish. Fit.
Why Boulder so cold and without snow?

Did they say the city and elevation? Seems they skipped it this time unlike usual, unless I missed it !

I've never found a pair of gloves that actually keep my hands warm...any suggestions?
Maybe Craft hybrid weather gloves
does she have a knee valgus?
She is! I wouldn’t be running on concrete if I was her but that’s just me😉
Qué es eso ?.

Doesn't appear in CIM results.
her running form is so good. she run like gazelle
HONOURABLE Lauren I AM from INDIA, I HAVE A QUESTION THAT U ALWAYS USE SPIKE SHOES OR NORMAL SHOES?
This is your note: Science is cool kids
Is that taking blood sugar?
Lactate
so fast 😮
Why not make the recovery longer?
Don't want to clear the lactate completely between intervals.
Bagal pasina patch 😁👍
Also, if training for a half marathon could you simply change the pace to 10-15k pace and use the same framework? Asking for my own training 😊

@@Bren1704 my half time is 87 minutes. Shooting for 85 soon

4:30 😳, why not just leave that in the car
It was too cold in the car, the bathrooms are heated
A coach in Norway who wants lactate values. Is your coach Stephen Seiler? 😂
Nice hard run as evidence from huge sweat armpit patch ! Great

We don't believe in gym work ?
Looks like she is wearing a heart rate monitor under her shirt too
