haunted is such a perfect song one of my favs in the album. the soft instrument playing until the chorus where it gets a bit louder when she says “I know he don’t love quite like I LOVE HIM” the ‘I love him’ part is so perfect and it also displays how much love she has for him which you can tell by the way she sings it. It’s like she’s singing it in capital letters saying she loves him more and it’s obvious. Also the first line in the chorus “I hold on to every ounce of sin” describes how she regrets it but then again she doesn’t in some kind of way, because throughout the song she says “I’ll allow myself to have him just tonight” even tho she knows she’ll get rejected and haunted by him at the end of dawn she still does it cuz she misses him but swears she won’t do it again until he comes back to haunt her meaning that she’d do it again because of how MUCH she loves him. Such a strong message I absolutely love this song thank you laufey 💗‼️
