Hey! Finally, that time came and I took the first student to the workshop! In this video her first job. Sasha draws well, but she had absolutely no experience with wax. In the future, the combination of these two skills will make her a strong master. And I will help her with this.

As a fellow student, know that we are deeply thankful for the masters who put us under their wing. Craftsmanship is beautiful because it's passed on human to human.
We had a fantastic teacher in high school who taught us how to cast and it was no different from this, thank you for bringing me back to a simpler time in my life. This is beautiful and they should never cut programs like these.

Man I kinda wish they did because everyone pretending to be woke but fails to understand how, why and reasoning, etc. They're all just learning it from other kids from Twitter or tumblr, making crusades with no proper preparation... a Children Crusade... And the ending to that tale isn't nice.
Make sure to call her "padawan" every now and then to let her know she's doing a good job.

I remember this was a favorite project in my high school craft design class. I enjoyed learning about lapidary arts as well. I've been a rockhound now for nearly 50 yrs
If I ever get proposed to, I would 100% hope its with a bark ring and the corny vow be something along the lines of how each year a tree grows a ring to mark a years worth of growth, and how the ring symbolizes their hopes that our love can continue to grow in abundance like the rings of a tree.

My mom was an extremely talented artist (painting & pottery). She was hired to draw jewelry for a store's catalog & new modern art style jewelry to be created.. The owner then asked her to try to carve a ring in wax. She wasn't great at first but soon became their sole carver so the geologists (my stepmother included, yea there's a story behind that) could just concentrate on working with metals & gems.
I wish I had been able to get the pictures of all my mom's creations...
