Cool video, but what am I?
Noob? Pro? Legend? A little bit of all, I would say.
The Navi... Hmmm... That stays on, because I use it when I drive longer than 1 hour irl.
Mirrors - Pro! I use headtracking with my smartphone.
Gearshift: Started with mouse/keyboard = real automatic, then I bought a steering wheel with gearshift, but stayed with automatic, now manual with 12 gears (6 gears and heavy duty ---> meh).
Driving style in the rain. There is nothing to discuss; speed down.
The trucks: I have tried all manufacturers through and made me a plus-/minus list. I see no reason why I should buy another truck.
Mods: Most are for more realism, but neither pro-mods nor any other map mods. I think the DLCs are enough map.
Driver Skills: I have been keeping an eye on these from the beginning. Now with 200 drivers it takes some time, but that's part of it for me.
The noob part is clearly my tuning. At some point I had too much money and thought to myself "Never mind. Anything goes". And NO! It stays that way! I love my truck as it is. Well, I have cleaned out the interior, but the outside remains.
Dashboard: A big item in my plus/minus list. Some don't show what I want to see at a glance (fuel gauge, remaining mileage), for others the font is too small,...
I'm still missing the point that noobs turn off fatigue simulation and penalties, or as I used to say "Fuck red lights. I have enough money. " 😁
A true legend in the making.
I like the part of using a vanilla map, though Promods are tempting.
And also managing 200 drivers... how far with their training policies???
@@vutomy My first three drivers are fully leveled. The last ones are currently at level 12-13, and they all started with 2-3 points.
I leveled them all in the same way:
- 1 point each in Long distance, high value and fragile cargo + 2 points in Just-In-Time Delivery so that the selection of orders is as large as possible. Eco-driving is of little interest to me. I think it's more important that they don't drive back 2000 km empty.
- Then fully expand long distance - this levels them faster.
- When that is full, ADR is complete.
- After that, I can set it to balanced and concentrate on the newer drivers.
Currently I'm thinking about starting over again. 200 drivers, 26 mio on the account,... I lack a little incentive to continue, but would not do much differently. A start without credit from the bank, but at a more lucrative location maybe... 🤔
@@letogottkaiser5274 that's so strategically. i'm sure you have tons of hours playing this game.
For your next challenge, i'd advice you to use real economy mod.
Don't take a bank loan. hire only 4 drivers and don't buy any garage except yours
@@vutomy Ah... I had Economy Mod before. I think that was even before Road To The Black Sea. It bugs me, honestly, that you earn way too much per tour, but THAT was intense. If you're involved in an accident that you didn't even cause yourself, you'll get a fine. Add to that the damage to the truck and the fuel costs, and you're already paying. I have had 3 or 4 tours in a row; that was over. That's no fun either.
With the Iberia DLC, it's gotten even worse. I'm driving in a traffic circle and there's a car on the right. As soon as I'm in front of it, it drives off, right into my trailer. I had this in Spain over and over again. It got on my nerves so much that I didn't touch ETS at all for 1 year.
I never thought of myself as a Pro or a Legend at this game, despite pretty much playing it religiously, I never had any thoughts about this, but the fact that I do quite a lot of these 'properly' surprises me
This game has less challenges, its up to you to challenge urself and make it more enjoyable
when you stop taking down trafic signs on every corner you are a pro :D:D
You don''t need check air pressure if you''re on highway, roads, driving long distances, you need to follow air pressure when you''re on traffic jam, hills or onther places, where un need brake a lot and can''t make long enough to pump air pressure, then obiviously you should follow more than fuel
Man this shit is confusing
@@forshizzle4487YOU ARE CONFUSING BROKEY
I'm between Pro and Legend. I'm a truck driver in real life and I like to simulate as much as possible. I use the gearbox according to the real truck, if it's automatic, I leave it automatic and manual if it's manual, and I use the corresponding gear box. I didn't even remember about virtual mirrors. And I like to make the trucks beautiful, I also have many different models. I have the same save since the simulator was released and I don't use many mods.
A real life teuck driver in a legend...
What truck do you drive in real life?
@@vutomya ford truck probably 💀
There must be a step above legend, some examples, a true legend uses a head tracker for mirrors, a true legend uses the right gearbox and goes beyond 6 speeds
Really nice video, i tend to agree to the points you stated!!
I'm wondering what i am on the transmission side because I've got a g25 and i use the manual shifter but also use split and range on two separate buttons and i change gears by rev matching not using the clutch like they used on older un synchronized transmissions😅 although i drive a new Volvo (maxed for best performance) which would be automatic in real life, but in ATS i drive a 18 geared peterbuilt😁
Ur the king
Just started playing, but I already figured out what I want. A few navigators to help me control the route (1-2), since I don't like to have the Advisor on all the time. Only truck mirrors is fun (I use 3rd person view to park tho). Simple automatic. In skills I invest in route length mostly, use only truck that I like (not necessarily of the same brand), don't add excessive tuning and slow down in the rain. :)
True
I just enjoy the game and i would never call no one Noob Pro or a Legend ME -----> Wheel Stand , Logitech G920 Wheel , Shifter , Skrs , Trackir , Trackir Pro Clip , ALL DLC's that are available for ETS2 and ATS
A pretry decent setup. You must be loaded
@@vutomy Loaded nah i didn't buy everything in one shoot i just enjoy it and when i had more time staying home away from work we all know why i even streamed on Twitch I've even had a VS with 18 people in it but went back to work so i gave the VS to my friend its fun to play it on MP specially Promods
Ive Always Make Out With Heavy cargo And My Fav rute Was Nancy - Zurich , Frankfrut - Nancy , Zurich - Hannover
You must be a Pro
as a person who has played this game for many years, i still use the extra mirrors and extra navigation, but i do use the realistic automatic transmission
I'm everything:
Navigation - Pro
Mirror - Legend
Transmission - Pro
Rain - Noob
Selection - Pro (I can try other trucks but I stick to the scania)
Mods - idk
Skill - Noob
Tuning - Pro
Dashboard - Noob
You can assign a keybind for the dshboard
Legend tip for mouse and keyboard users: Bind your Upshift and Downshift to your scroll, it feels like an automatic and you still have control on what gears you want
Thanx Legend
Truck selection : Me
When I want to change, I take a new truck of the next shop I see and give the old one to a garage.
I play American Truck Simulator, but I guess the same principles apply. I'm somewhere between Pro and Legend. With the mirrors, I leave them off unless I need to make a turn, and then I only use the right one as I can't see the truck mirror as I turn because I have the camera set to rotate when I steer (like a poor man's VR/TrackIR). I only use the truck route advisor without voice guidance, use sequential gearbox, set up my truck as a good all-rounder (plenty of power, torque and gears, with a good final drive ratio and not too heavy but with a realistic sleeper etc), I slow down slightly in the rain but if the road is straight and wide I do the speed limit, I don't only use one truck brand (although I do mainly use a Peterbilt, 389, I own a Western Star 49X, a Kenworth W900 100th Anniversary Limited Edition, a Kenworth W900 set up as a heavy hauler, two day cab Pete 389s as fleet trucks with a driver each (both fully skilled in all areas), don't have many mods and only install ones I actually use, only mildly tune my trucks (the odd bull bar here and there, chicken lights etc), and use the dashboard menu realistically, showing range/fuel consumption and speed/cruise control.
You are a pro
@@vutomy Thank you
I am level 41 in ATS and level 72 in ETS2. I use only the physical mirrors but sometimes open the gps window to see the remaining distance. Would be very nice to see the distance in the integrated gps screen. No mods are installed. I would see myself somewhere in-between pro and legend but don't really like that categorisation. I also bought the tobii eye tracker for controlling the camera position and angle.
Nice
Gave me a smile - I fall somewhere between your definition of pro and legend 😅
😁. Dont worry. I will be a legend in time
😀😀😀😀😀
yo, a thing that you can do if your wheel is close to your mouse just move the mouse around when checking mirrors.
it looks more realistic and i like it
Yeah bro. Which level are u at. Are u a noob, or a pro, or legend?
@@vutomy I am mostly a legennd lol,i quite don't agree the thing with the navigation.
mostly of irl truckers have navigation soo yeah there aren't soo many people just going by the indicators to go to the location.
And i have 500 hours on ets 2 so i might be a legend lol

@@exq.lsdadsada9340 i have 2100 hours nob
In ATS for right side judgement I prefer hood Mirror. In ETS previously I use small side Mirror instead of that big side Mirror by pressing F2 now I prefer right side truck Mirror.
Which level are u at?
@@vutomy level 17 with Scania r500 and Daf xg+ for recruitment driver. I playing ETS from from version 1.18. The highest level I reach is 37 with Scania S which I clock above 100k as a primary truck. That from my another profile. Now level 17 is from also a new profile.
Is there any special keybind for the mirror on the right side? I already have a key assigned, but it moves the camera too far to the right.
Use num 9 and 3
i use 12+2 gear its more realistic for me and i love it like that it hase learning curve but when u get used to it its fun i use navigation and in game mirors i want to set up headtracking cuz every time pushing button to turne head is not realistic. I love scania its my favourite truck buy i always change trucks every month or so and i love mods i use personaly realistic mods and map modes and truck mods always but i make them road legal not too much.
Thx for info ..now I think I am gonna be a legend

Hey, mind explaining me this? So I ride deadhead and love to speed like 110-140 during that, when I release gas, the truck seems to run out of controll seemingly braking, cc is off btw

It's truth bro ,these type of vedio needs a lot experience in ets 2
Facts
Yes bro. Are u a noob or a pro or a legend?
I was on level 72 and on a legend rank according to the game
Bro I was 16 yrs old and I play on my father's money pc which is a budget pc so I try my best to give mee the realistic experience.does you a full time gamer or a part time
@@the.revo.5249 I use gps, because i didn't belong to a eu country i belong to india
I like to have extra navigator because the FOV I am playing generally cant show me the default truck navigator. Because I have 24" monitor and I like to drive with true FOV.
I am using only the truck side mirrors with extra camera shortcuts.
I use sequential shifter with generally 6-speed and driving with mouse steering :)
I generally don't like rain because it causes so much lag and FPS drops, so I generally disable it.
I am a huge Scania fan, especially R6 ones, so I generally drive it but I also like MAN trucks and old Mercedes-Benz trucks.
I use realism mods, truck mods, weather mods, texture mods, Reshade and reliable map mods.
I don't care about skill developments, I guess I just select long haul for everyone :)
As Tuning, I just want a cool exterior skin and interior skin with a little interior objects. I generally choose engines around 500 HP because I don't want it to be ridiculously powerful and also not so weak.
And finally I like to monitor my truck with dashboard.
Also I want to add that I am trying to make the game real as possible. It is not possible with mouse steering but I am trying my best and I will buy or make myself a steering wheel asap. It is chilling when I am driving at speed limits or a little below. Checking every side when you want to make a turn and of course using blinkers. Thats why I quit TruckersMP and probably will never play again.
You are a solid Pro. How many hours do you have on the game
@@vutomy 973 hrs currently :)
- GPS: *Noob* - Truck & Phone from Cab Accesories, no voice GPS. When I am on the high speed road I use the Phone GPS (more road visible), when in city, truck GPS.
- Mirrors: *Legend* - I use only trucks mirrors
- Transmission: *Legend* - Sequential
- Rain: *Pro/Legend* - Depends on everything. Sometimes I forget how my wheels can slip on wet road, but I often drive slower etc.
- Truck selection: *Pro* - I love to drive my 8x4 Scania 730S which I use for heavy loads. For secondary trucks I drove Volvo FH16 Classic, Renault T, now I have DAF XG+ and I want to buy MAN TGX 2021.
- Mods: *-* - I don't use mods (excluding TruckersMP). I just use DLC.
- Skill Dev: *Legend* - I max out my workers' stats
- Truck Tuning: *Noob* - I put on my Scania everything hah but I love how it looks and for me it feels like really my truck
- Dashboard: *Pro* - I mostly use Dashboard menu for air brakes. I know it doesn't have any sense when I am on high speed roads, but it really helps me in cities and on road Duisburg - Calais. I don't use any info about fuel (I upshift to go to lowest RPM whenever I can). Speed and fuel capacity mostly displays not depending on the dashboard.
So I am Pro... Fair enough
Well on a good day i would agree but i think ur a noob
Bro look it depends how good you know the trucks the handling etc. For the mods it depends on what you want if for example experience fps drops it's a problem from the computer. For the truck selection yes i again it depends on what do you what the truck to be for . But otherwise nice video i laughed a lot . Keep the content.
The conclusion comes down to preferences.... yet i feel with that perception you wouldn't be challenged that much.
Ets2 has little challenges, if you dont consider adding more challenges to it, you will be bored fast
You didn't mentioned that real automatic allow you to manually change gears too. Also you can force automat to switch gear lower or higher when it's in automatic mode too.
Thnx for the reminder bro
i think im pro on most of these except transmission and mirror usage. also what rain mod did you use? for the rain section
Brutal realitic rain water and thunder sound
I use full manual transmission but a 12 speed gearbox... I just binded a button that let's me go to 7+ so when I need to shift from 6th I press the button and put the shifter in the 1st gear position which becomes 7 and 2nd becomes 8 and so on until 12
How do u do that?
@@vutomy It was in the control settings and I think it said something like H shifter and if that doesn't work then I will try and find out for you
@@vutomy but it so much more realistic so at the end of 6th gear I press the button and put it in 1st which is 7 but I don't have to press the button for the second gear to become 8th if that makes sense... Once I press it it becomes 7,8,9,10,11,12 instead of 1,2,3,4,5,6
Lol yup I'm checking off all the noob boxes! Also...how can I carry that train! That looks legit!
Train?

I just have 180 hours and 42 level. I can't use manual transmission because I'm using ps5 controller. Right now I'm getting better turning camera both sides inside cabin instead of looking from outside. Little by little, this is an amazing game!
It is an amazing game. And SCS are working hard to improve it
You CAN use manual trans with ps5 controller, i do it with R1 and L1. I mean it's just getting used to.
@@lautarosantillan1268 mmm I’m using those for signal lights :( it’s actually a little messy to change the control config
@@lautarosantillan1268 This situations really bugs me since 8 days ago. Today I just started another profile just to test the changes on de ps5 controller. IT'S INCREDIBLE! I love it. @@CarlosMX666 you're right, the configuration with Steam desk is a mess. It took me a lot of time to understand how it works, the gyroscope sensibility, the different saves. But once i got it it was wonderfull, the touchpad as different buttons, long press to set a different comand, worth every minute. Hope you're still enjoying the game :)
Glad i'm a real a legend according to this video, by the way i have to add another advice, when you hire a driver set the economic skill first to this driver until it reach the top after that go for the distance, once those two are full go for balanced, your worker will bring you more money.
Thnx for the tips
Legend is the one who knows how to save edit😎
😁😂😂😂
Pros use realistic 12 speed H-pattern, not a feeble seq or 6 speed "manual".
Also realistic gearbox behaviour and decreased clutch range for better immersion.
True....
The problem is that most European truck drivers use realistic automatic gearboxes. But it is not a simulator so do what you like ;)
I use the 12 speed h-pattern manuel with the g29 bundle so it comes with everything, and I'm thinking of getting the Logitech heavy equipment side panel next 😂😂
Well, I’m glad to know that you consider me a legend in mirror usage, rain, truck selection, mods installation, skill development, truck tunning and dashboard menu. In all others you consider me a pro! 🙌🏻 😆 😁😅😎 🛻 🚚🚛
I do not use in game mirror, and i don’t buy a truck for myself I do quick deliveries I use route advisor if it comes pre installed with truck if not then voice recognition without mirror.
The problem is how can I read road names when I don’t know their language and I’m not from EU so sign boards are to me useless.
I understand
Pro all to me. Legend is the skills to me however I go with the distance and price first before the rest. As I’m on a portable handheld legion go it’s hard using some keys without a keyboard but I figured the layout and works just right for me.
Hello, you are making good content! What you use for editing?
Adobe Premiere Pro
Noob : follow gps blindly
Pro: plan refueling stop and repair
Legend : Check if train and ferry can lower the journey cost
Which one are u???
@@vutomy from noob to legend
Using Ferry might longer the journey time but cut the fuel cost way much
I'm sitting at pro level. Downside is I use automatic because I have a Logitech g290 and my pedal shifters are bound to my turn signals and the rest of my buttons are already bound to other features and I really don't want to cough up 200+ bucks on a shifter for now
You have a decent wheel. G290 is good.
How many hours do u have playing the game?
@Vutomy I recently started using the wheel for assetto corsa but rn I have 40 hours in ets2, more in ATS. Most of the hours I used just on keyboard and mouse.
im a bit of a noob and pro due to bad eyesight but i just enjoy the relaxing game . great vid love the music i don't do mods . and have a nice selection of trucks
Nice. Im sorry about your eye sight.
Under that list of elements i consider myself a pro except in the tuning of the truck, i've put so many light in the front of my truck it seems like a 20 ton christmas tree.
Yes
This has to be the first time someone has suggested I might be a Legend ... well, mostly Legend [typically a virtual mirror for the nearside, lots of lights on the front, and ease off a bit when it rains. I disabled the promods maps and realism mods when the big update came around, never bothered to reactivate]. Rule 1 is disable speeding tickets and speed limiters :)
😂😂😂. Disable speeding tickets?

Edit-
Tuning I do not think the noob category is noob, many people like to mod out their trucks and if it causes fps drops, I think that's a pc issue. In fact, I believe if you don't mod your trucks at least a bit, then you are the noob.
Reasonably modding is always acceptable. Over modding is for noobs
@@vutomy I agree with tasteful mods, i will see many noobs try to fill every single mod slot on their truck
What truck is that? Or what scania?
Legends always use M/A transmission. on inclines, it goes manual and shifts manually. On normal road, it makes it automatic for not tiring.

And always use real automatic transmission
You are a stable pro....
I dont think these preferences make u a noob or legend. I would ask you to drive from Istanbul to bergen and back to Istanbul and if you are a noob you will most likely have to completely repair your truck multiple times. If you are a pro u will get some damage but not a lot however u may struggle to stay concentrated throughout the whole delivery or struggle with fuel and testing times. If you are a legend u will drive off and come back without any damage other as wear of parts. U dont even think about these types of deliveries u just do them
I do things weird, like i use automatic because its easy but then i use only the navigation from the truck, and i use only the truck mirrors then again i go fast on rain but then i keep distance and brake a lot😅

Course that's in ATS.
Some of the trucks have the mirrors set so far back. i can't even see the left one when looking forward.
I drive with an XBOX PC controller.
Left analog to steer, right analog to look around, and can be tricky to do both doing 70 mph and drive smoothly as i typically look drunk when i try to do both at speed.
I also use sequential transmission as i don't have an H shifter.
70mph? Thats very fast... you wouldn't have time to check ur surrounding or react.
Try lowering your speed to 50mph max...
@Vutomy America has different speed limits for trucks.
Some states, trucks can do 80mph
California has a truck speed limit of 55
Idaho, where i am originally from, it's 70 for trucks 80 for non-commercial vehicles.
The state i live in now ranges from 65 to 70mph.
A lot of trucks are speed limited to around 63mph but not the vast majority.
I've been passed by commercial trucks doing 80mph, though not often at least.
I play American truck simulator and i am more familiar with US speed limits than ETS2 speed limits.
What about high beam and low beam for opposite vehicles coming toward us in night in two lane road without divider.

I have phone navigation sticked to front window, no additional mirrors, I only drive with Scania 12 gears dedicated transmission, I'm not ignoring the rain only on bends, yeah.. for about 2 years I only drive one single Scania, now playing on clear save so no mods installed, skill development? I will just skip that through, I drive literally stock Scania but with some items placed inside, I always use dashboard menu - soo who am I?:)
