I would stamp before cutting personally. You can draw around the letter lightly in pencil or punched image if needed and a ruler along top or bottom edge of dies aligns them
I’m so grateful that you left that video up this long so I could get a chance to see it those cards are wonderful I think I like the kitty best and in the stars and then the you but I love them all I would be hard to pick just one as my favorite thank you so much for sharing that video and for keeping it up for so long I so appreciate it

Your video, your “tips”, your explanations and samples both with the letter dies, shape dies, and punches are SO VERY HELPFUL! I’m inspired! Thanks oodles n’ oodles for sharing all of this with us! HAPPY STAMPIN’ n’ CREATIN’! :-))
I echo Judith’s comments whole heartedly, Susan! Thank you so very much for such a thorough tutorial...I’m absolutely excited to try this technique now.
What a fun technique! I will definitely give this a try! Usually use fun foam behind my letters to give them heighth. That way I don;t have so much gluing and cutting. Great tips too!
Thanks for sharing, that was an excellent tutorial. I just recently purchased letter dies so now I am dying to try this. Thank you for the great sample cards. Loved all of them
Wow Susan......where have I been!! I've been missing some great "how-to" videos of yours. Thanks for the great tips! I've been wanting to make this style of card but first.....I need to order the "letters"...but you also showed how to use punches. Thank You! ☺️
What a fabulous video. Your tips are awesome and sooo helpful. Thank you so much for your artful way and the efforts, I know are huge in doing these videos. I'll be back and often! :-)
Hi Lynda! Thank you for watching! I made this video several years ago and these dies have since retired. However, we have a new set of smaller alphabet dies in the new catalog that would work with this technique. However they are significantly smaller (about 1” high).
The letters are just over 2 1/4" high and vary in width based on which letter it is. For example, the letter M is wider then the letter I. Exact specs can be found here: bit.ly/2A9qitq
