  • This is the Philips Paladin 372 vintage car radio. It is an improved version derived from the Philips NX344-V of which I also have a restoration video on this channel. The Paladin was designed in a split concept, to allow for more degrees of freedom during installation in a vehicle. This radio I have equipped with the latest PeKo solid-state vibrator model RVB-2A, which has a lossless reverse-polarity protection also shown in the video. For the earlier video of the NX344V see • Vintage Philips VW bug...
For the PeKo vibrators see www.pekorf.com/Radio.html

Yeah, I love this model. Bought my first one with my grandfather when I was 12, he loved rummaging in junk stores. It was a birthday present. As young as I was, I managed to repair that radio then (a drifted resistor). My grandfather is long gone, but I inherited that passion from him. Cheers.

Radio sounds like it's working very well, what cars did these go into?

VW bug, Renault 4, basically the lower end of the market. Because this was a budget radio, without preset buttons.
