What would be most interesting is a math analysis of BUYING copper pennies from ebay (at about 2.5x face value) compared to buying nickels from bank (1x face value). This is a more practical example since I won't have the time to buy pennies from bank and sort. I suspect you're answer would be than neither is a good investment, but one day it will be if I want to BUY now and store until value goes up. WHICH ONE SHOULD I BUY NOW for future copper value?
It all depends upon the value of the dollar. As the dollar continues to degrade in value, the value of holding either Copper pennies or Cupronickel nickels will ultimately go up. I'd rather have my wealth tied up on a commodity than to have it tied up in U.S. dollars.
Can you legally melt copper pennies? Pennies and nickels contain copper, zinc, and other metals that are of great monetary value. It is because of this that melting down these metals for the sole intention of selling to offshore or local metal scraping industries is illegal.
From what i seen on a video not to long ago if you melt copper pemmies and make something with it like put your face or something on it its legal@@mattmanretires66
Right now as we speak you can melt pennies FOR ART PURPOSES ONLY!! That is why penny smashers at your theme parks are ok. You can also hang onto them and when the government discontinues the 1 cent piece like Canada did back in 2013 only then you can. To melt them into bars for profit is in fact still illegal. Melt into a bar, put a picture on it and sell it as art.
Or is it a second sense? Great video and information! Looking forward to your next video!

I think the penny is better for hoarding. Nickel will take a lot longer to pay off. Don't do either unless it's a byproduct of collecting.🤔
But what about canadian 99.9% nickle nickles ? I think i rather hord that than pennies i think if i could
Absolutely. Grab up all the solid nickel you can.

Correct 💯. Check out my video on when I think it will be legal.
