7mph in the v7 is very good. Interesting test with a relatively predictable result. For me leg drive is most noticeable in endurance. I can easily paddle the V10 30 miles and not have tired arms when I'm done. I really work on using my legs and abs.
Got a qusetion about paddle length. In video clip you did not join two parts of paddles to the end.. Point is is there any guidelines when we adjust paddle length For instance: plus 50 cm + one's height
This is a super-wide camera lens setting which may give a misleading view of my top hand. When I did this, I recall my top hand was going from eye to shoulder level which is quite common even among elite paddlers. Do you consider a top hand moving like that to be "diving"? I now strive to move my top hand level at eye level which I believe is better suited to the wing paddle, although I believe it still drops a little down to maybe chin level.
I want to modify my kayak by bolting in a rowing crew rolling seat assembly and foot stretchers to take advantage of my leg power. Yes I believe by using a seat on rollers that I can transfer my leg power through my back and arms by keeping them relatively rigid until the finish part of the stroke. Excellent research of different parts of paddling. Very interesting!

Thanks for sharing. I'm new to surfski. Do you need to step onto the pedal to control the rudder while you are doing the leg drive?
you should be leg driving with the bottom of your foot not the ball of your foot.
Hi, does the V7 feel heavier to paddle compared to a composite ski. Is there much difference in speed? Cheers
It takes longer to accelerate but also longer to lose its speed. That’s physics for you!
You won't be able to test the connection with your top hand diving like that.

You should try this, nobody has as of yet to my knowledge
