I have a new trick to add : between the streamer and the DDC puting a ifi idefender3 and adding a good LPSU on the idefender. It cuts off the streamer power and avoid it messing up with the DDC. It made a big difference in my system.
I use a simple usb reclocker. at the other end between the usb reclocker/ddc to dac i use another ifi idenfender3 with a new linear power supply before the dac. The combination was mind boggling. The sound totally transformed. More natural, not digital anymore. The last usb cable before the dac is an audioquest diamond.
For it to work i had to use an upgraded switch with a linear power supply and very good ethernet cables before the switch and after to the streamer. The streamer is also on a linear power supply.

    Hi Larry
After watching your video I now want to experience it my self. I am getting the Singxer SU2 soon enough. My question is what is the best cable to connect from the DDC to the DAC? Is AES or Digital Coaxial cable? Many thanks

Generally COAX is the universal best cable to use via most units if possible to chose, but sometimes a unit is specially constructed for AES or USB or other standard, and then that is best to use.

And many times the manufacturer does not reveal what their design bias is. But I know for a fact that the audio gd di 20 is mainly designed for AES and some monoblocks like 1.2kw mcintosh is designed for to sound best with XLR I was told be several users. The rest on the market has to be investigated.

I assume you mean spdif vs AES/EBU. Technically they're both spdif. One is single ended coax and one is balanced. Technically the AES/EBU is a better standard but you'd have to try and compare. AES/EBU should be better but you never know.

Related: it would be nice if the JCAT folks built a card with coax output

Please stop saying "DDC converter" DDC means digital to digital converter. it's like saying "DAC converter"
