Can u make another video of this tutorial please? But, this time please show/ do the whole song so that we can see how it actually looks like when it is performed. Thanks! :)) PS. I still love it! :)
I really appreciated that "Hula language" part for the first 8 beats ^^ I think it's always good to understand what the body is storytelling during a dance before presenting it to an audience,
Thank you for this clarification! I actually have this #hula choreography broken down + put back together on my website too: www.jessicayoungfit.com/dance
Mahalo nui loa iā 'oe Juan! 🙏 I have this #hula choreography broken down in Spanish + pieced back together with a performance on my website: www.jessicayoungfit.com/dance Happy dancing! 💃🏻
This is an amazing video :) I'm a native Hawaiian so I love how natural the dance is to the song. Only thing that would make it better was if you were to put it all together at the end so show what it shoud look like with the moves and music and everything.
finally!!! a fantastic video, that shows what not to do, and that I can learn from! I am going to be studying this non-stop...I have decided to get into hula, and I think this would be a great first dance for me to do. an entire video of this, would be great. please upload one? you break the dance down, beautifully. but I also learn, from repetitive watching. Mahalo, for reading!

Can you do a video doing the dance from beginning to end? I'm performing the dance with a group for a themed party but I can't seem to find a good video of the dance the right way.
I didn't see a video posted of it performed. I just realized this video is 3 years old but would still love to see it performed! I am trying to learn this for fun. Thanks for the tutorial!
Love this. Great instructional video. Do have a video of you dancing the hula after the instruction? Also, is the video "mirror image" so that its easy to follow and dance?
Dear Mrs. Young, thank you for sharing and explaining that dance to us and in that great detail. I see that your choreography is already several years old bye now, but I sincerly hope that you are still enjoying dancing. Wishing you the best, health and sucess. S

thank you for this wonderful presentation! You are so graceful! And I love your chill style and humor, yet the video was very concise. I liked how you hummed the song to the beats, that was very helpful. Only thing not in the video I would have liked to have seen was you doing the full dance to the song to show how all the moves are put together in the performance.
Thank you so much! I actually have this #hula choreography broken down + pieced back together on my website: www.jessicayoungfit.com/dance Happy dancing! 💃🏻

that was great. I'm going to watch this over and over again until I've got it all down! One question about differences though, please: In other versions of the dance, as well as in Lilo and Stitch the movie, after the intermission they do this heel-toe-scooting sort of move. Why is it that some versions do not incorporate that part into the dance? Is this a historical fault on Disney's part? I'm probably overlooking several other differences between the cinematic animation and the actual choreography, but that one is the most apparent. Thank you so much for your instruction!
Do you take hula classes? They offer them in my studio and i'd really like to look into them, i'm currently just a ballet dancer. Is it okay to start at age 13?
I know this video is old... But, how does this all match up with the song? I've learned the dance to preform for a class, but it seems to short for the music. Do you think I'm dancing too quickly, or did you use a shortened version of the song? Mahalo!
Hi Lani! 🙏 Yes, it actually does match up with the song! @JessicaTango a group of my friends want to dance this song for my graduation party could you give us a video lesson
Do happen to know the Hawaiian wedding song or kawaipunahele can you break that down
God send!
so hula is kind of like sign language?
Thank you so much !! 💟
What's the english for He inoa no kalani kalalakaua kulele? and for He mele no Lilo ( I think mele is like song)?
He inoa no ka lani Kalakaua ku lele~ " A namesong for the Chief Kalakaua
He Mele No Lilo is "A song for Lilo," but as 'Lilo" can also mean 'lost' some think that the song can be translated as "A song for the Lost"
The whole song is a tribute to Queen Lili'uokalani and King Kalakaua, the last two monarchs of Hawai'i before America forced Lili'uokalani to sign a treaty dismantling it. Because the United States were terrible to the Hawaiians, and don't ever let anyone say we weren't.
Thank you!!!
In the heavenly name of kalakaua,
Kalakaua is the last king of hawaii.
He mele no lilo. Lilo's song or song of lilo
Well, I very much doubt you still need the translation but He Mele No Lilo is A song for Lilo. And for the first one its a namesong for the chief, Kalalakaua.

the only disney song that i like is being presented in a different style!
I try as hard as I can, but I can't seem to get it right!

thank youuuuuu!
Okay...am I correct in hearing you say "hi, Richelle"? because when I watch this I get kinda freaked out, because that's my name!
The bird of paradise hand gesture is actually the pua
You didnt really explain step number two can you give an explanation of the movements maybe in another video or a written way
The reason why you look at your hands in hula is because you are telling a story, and in order for the audience to catch/understand the story, their attention has to be focused on both the feet and hands but more on the hands.
You know what I need practice on, the finale (I CAN'T SAY IT) :(
Yeah, you got this! I've broken this dance down really slow on my website for you: jessicayoungfit.com/dance
how much do u charge for a live video
Would you like the explanation in writing or by doing another video?
In the "hula message", it helps to understand what the dance actually means. Instead of just "doing" it
Thank you!
Thank you for the tip! I'll keep that in mind for my videos going forward.
